lol! what a goose! 😆
no kidding!! it makes you feel nervous no matter what u feed. these days! another thing: if you dog falls ill, don’t throw that food out, take it back to where you got it, tell them it made your dog sick and they should notify the company. if enough people take their food back, and we as stores send it back to the company with complaints and questions attached, leading to enough big chain stores asking questions of them, talking amongst themselves (store to store) and getting concerned, should force someone to make some sort of official statement and hopefully a recall. that, or save the back of the bag along with some food to send it directly to nutro so they can “test” it to find out what’s going on, but still at least call your store so they know!! your sick dog, the food and the bag it came from is the proof to help save others, so don’t just toss it away.
the illnesses do NOT necessarily imply that there is poison or anything like that in the food, it could be something as simple as some mis-mixed batches, or unmentioned altering of the ingredients that is causing the upset bellies and worse.hey there pet folks! i sadly wanted to bring to your attention that there have been problems with nutro brand pet foods where pets are getting violently ill across the country. i hate to have to report this as i feed nutro ultra to my own dogs (not anymore though!) and i know some of you do too, so i wanted to give you a heads up to spare you and your pets. one of my own dogs even fell ill with pancreatitis and another is having unusual hair loss, which has since gotten better with a change of food. my sister and boss amongst others have all had the same problem, so this is not isolated.
the illness symptoms vary from simply loose stool and gas, to violent diarrhea, bloody stool, high white blood cell count, liver failure and death, sometimes in as little as 4 days! getting your pet off the food immediately is the best remedy if they are showing signs of being unwell, unless you are having more severe symptoms, at which point you should speak with your vet. the first link is a written article, the second is consumer written complaints. however there are plenty of pets that are eating the food with no issues, (therefore hard to get grounds yet for a full fledge recall or pulling products from shelves) but some are falling ill.http://www.consumeraffairs.com/news04/2008/04/pet_food_recalls93.html
http://www.consumeraffairs.com/pets/nutro.htmlthis has been going on for a few/couple months, though people are juuuust starting to piece it it all together now. as you may have noticed, your favorite stores’ shelves may have had lots of “holes” in the nutro section the last few times you were in. the company has been keeping this under super wraps, even to where they *may* be lying to their own employees and telling them that absolutely everything is fine, where clearly this is not the case. i myself have spoken to nutro reps both on and off shift and they had honestly no idea what was going on, and one even had her own dog fall ill while on the newest bag of food! the number of people shown in this attached link that are reporting ill pets and moreover who i have seen myself in my own store, shows an undeniable and consistent number of ill pets on nutro foods, most commonly dogs on the nutro natural choice line, but still all formulas. minimal instances of ill cats, or dogs on the nutro ultra line, but still occurring.
as you may know, nutro was bought out this past year or so by mars inc. along with greenies, and since then they may have made “adaptations” to the products. recent sourcing problems may also be an issue, but if you get any information from any nutro rep,or customer service rep the story is always different, so there seems to be some deception/lack of information going on, as opposed to apologies and concern for what seems to be happening.. nutro is in 100% denial that ANYTHING is wrong with their FORMULAS, but that they are simply having some supply problems or bag misprint issues which accounts for the out of stocks. we will see how this drama unfolds in the near time to come. i just hope everyone stays safe until there are some real answers.
again, plenty of pets are eating the food with no issue, but a very real number of pets have been falling ill. i advise to feed with care, and keep your eyes peeled for any signs of illness. safer bets for foods if you are genuinely concerned and want to switch include as a start: timber wolf, blue buffalo, natures’ variety, wellness, solid gold, natural balance, merrick, canidae. however, there is NO perfect food for every dog and ultimately your doggies’ belly will tell you what sits best with him. 🙂
i hope this helps someone on here, as i would hate to have anyone else have problems due to this! so many people i have spoken with were going wild wondering what was wrong with their pet, when it was really just the food. please stay safe out there folks and i will update this if i hear anything, but so far it has been very tight lipped!PhoenixTears wrote:There is another Pink Curl on ebay that is already up there in price again! Looks to be from first batch and not the darker pink so, I dunno!
this is a little confusing as to just how many batches of these guys there were.. also they seemed to have a bit of color variance even within the batches themselves. i dug out my receipt from when i bought her, and the date reads 10/25/07, so she was definitely one of the later ones, but the colors are right at middle of the road between the two.
i went back through the forum posts and it looks like there were batches on: 9/19/07, 9/27/07, 10/9/07, 10/16/07. i’m not sure if there was another small one on 10/20/07…… but the date on my receipt is 10/25/07. boy, there were so many batches of those little gals! 😯 i’ll have to add that original purchase date to the auction..Dragon Master wrote:Melody wrote:darjeb wrote:Will there be any new colors of fledglings after the move to OR?
Oh yesss.I want to do more colors, we will be ebaying a few test paints of different colors I have been trying. I am not sure I will do more of these exact colors, but you can see what you think.
Also, as popular as that dragon is, I really need to sculpt more fist-sized dragons, like the fledge. We still need the croutching Fledgie on all 4’s
definitely a crouching (like hes gonna pounce) fledge. also maybe one on its back showing off his little chubby baby belleh! 😆 or laying down, slightly curled like a sleeping kitten…
yup! we have ALL overpaid on items at one point or another. it does happen, but long as you get your goodies safe n sound and you are happy with them. i paid quite a bit for my unicorn gargoyle back in the day, but i LOVE him and so glad that i did finally get him. 🙂

There is another pink on ebay right now
http://cgi.ebay.com/Windstone-Editions-LP-Pearl-Pink-Curled-Dragon-MIB_W0QQitemZ160241411298QQihZ006QQcategoryZ35873QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItemYeah, but that is the pearly pink. I can only guess that they REEEEALLY want one of the darker ones from the second or third batches.
that little pink curlie is mine actually. i’m really trying to pare down what i can live without to get money for my dog. i found i like the intense colors better on the curls than the pearls, so i figured that with people hot for pearls right now why not start with her? i’m trying to really sort out who else i can part with that also won’t bomb on ebay, and i know people like the curls. i was going to put my peacock mother up, but the one that ended last night only sold for 30 bucks! 🙁
the one i have up IS from the second batch, so it was a darker one, but not crazy dark. she is richer and more pepto-y in person, but its an unusual color for my camera to capture.yes, the suspense for new fledgies (and the silver scratchers) is killing meeeeee! ( rolls on floor)
yay! way to go pegasi!!!! squee! woo hoo!
holy lawsuit batman!!!!! geez i hope that heals up for you soon! ouch a boo-boo to the hand hand which is so sensitive and used all the time must be a bugger! take it easy out there!
you should send that theater the E.R. bill! there is NO excuse for a theater to have anything that could even vaguely be considered a tripping hazard, as people are constantly going in and out of darkened rooms with adjusting, movie bleary eyes. there in no reason why you should have to be watching out for stuff to trip and impale yourself on! feel better soon! 🙂ooohh diamond is so pretty! i love the contrast- its quite elegant! 😀 i bet all that pearl white was a bugger to do! >.<
wow! 50th high school reunion!! i’m going to my 10th this year! that’s going to be wild for you to see all those folks from back when… what a blast from the past!
darjeb, definitely check out and talk to these folks! http://www.eddieswheels.com/
they have excellent, affordable, light chairs or should i say, WALKERS. using their style of walker, or “wheels” as they call them, the dog can still use his back legs if the want to, and even go to the bathroom while wearing it! the walker allows the dog to build muscle tone in the legs, using them as much as they care to, without putting the full body weight on the legs and straining damaged joints. people sometimes even just use them for super safe physical therapy after joint surgeries or spine trauma. i spoke with them myself on the phone extensively and they are incredibly knowledgeable in all regards to conditions, effective therapies, alternative medicine, good vets, etc. they have youtube vids of dogs using their walkers too so you can see the dogs go go goooooooooo! check em out, really! 😀aaaaand thats it folks! GONE! sheesh, do we have crazy curl fans here or what?! i hope the silver fledges don’t sell out that fast whenever they come into the store. wow! 😕
oh what a GREAT pair! they are total litter mates and you HAVE to keep them both! awesome!
