oh my god thats freekin awful! yuk! the ugly troll thing with the pointed ears is a rip off too from a piece from design toscano…. yes the copyright thing is a hoot- copyrighted by someone else and illegal for you to copy it! duh! he just incriminated himself!
that person must be located right near me as i’m in rhode island..i know there is a statuary place in attleboro, mass near me that sells a ton of castings, really shady too.. i wonder if its that guy…hmmmmmmm…… purple would have looked good i think.. nice n dark so its not too eye catching, but still giving some definition….hmmmmm?
i believe (and hope) that it is going to go by demand…. if enough people show interest in having more browns of both types, they will do some more. like the white risers for example… remember also melody said they were still perfecting her paintjob, so i hope that is an additional indicator of more to come…..
hey! let’s not forget the SITTING spectrals! where we have a riser there should also be a sitter to match! (plus they are a bit more affordable for those counting pennies for em!) 🙂 i’m still waiting on that brown sitter… there wasn’t one of those yet was there? that and a ruby sitter. 🙂 squeak!

that fella is just a fake casting. someone had an original young, made a mold of it and cast it in hydrostone or plaster. thats also how the piece has round yet solid eyes of the same material.. making a mold of the piece with the glass eyes in gives them the perfect eye shape to paint over. i saw a bunch of these 9 years ago at a “plaster funtime” store in massachusetts. it was a store where you could but unpainted plaster castings and paint em yourself at the store using their paints, or take it home plain. kids b-day parites were normally held there. they had windstone rip offs there, i remember a male, mother, young and an emperor on their shelves for sale, cast in plaster for 15-35 bucks! i wasn’t totally familiar with melodys dragons then, but i knew they were made by a professional and illegally copied and asked about it… i was told to leave, lol.
remember, this seller may not know he has a fake! he wasn’t necessarily the person that made it and may not know windstones any better than the average person on the street…so he isn’t necessarily a guilty so-n-so..hence he put the question mark in his title…john will see to finding out the real scoop….yeah i saw that blackdesertwind! lol! tee hee. a seller can’t think that people won’t notice that stuff. if someone is going to spend good money, they really want and deserve to know what they are getting.
i did see that it was also totally relisted….. ebay really got on them too about it, as they made her change a couple other things that i didn’t even mention ( a small amount of copied wording, which i didn’t even mention nor really care about)!! i’m surprised about as it was really minor.
i think the seller increased their ship rate upon the relist too…. i think its actually more accurate now (if they double box) as i asked $22 i think on my auction, but it cost me $31-34 to actually mail it. it varies by destination though and i don’t have a scale to do it thru the shipping calculator, so i just wing it ,underestimating what it would be and pay the difference myself.
anyhoo, thats awesome that got rectified 🙂 my pics are no longer used and the auction is still relisted, so if someone does want it, they now have pics to see the actual piece! 😀 yay!yippee! thanks folks! i never get lucky with stuff like that but i was on just when i came up and said to myself, “dude you HAVE to get this!” i never dreamed i ‘d get a white lap, so i am just thrilled! bonus is, the white ow is coming, so now he has a matching mate! the seller is quite nice and already messaged me saying he shipped him out double boxed all nicey nice! we’ll see how she arrives, but the seller sounds really good. my philosophy was that they shipped a rising spectral with no original box, so they can ship a lap or moreover pack well in general! 🙂 yay! however it won’t be til next monday when she arrives, so i’m in for a wait.
i wonder though, what else got snatched for a great buy it now? anyone else see? i expected a white scratcher to come up or something juicy like that, but never saw anything come up then vanish….squeee! new dragon sculpt?! yes! and of a cute baby too! bonus!! yay! i’m sure it would sell well, peeps seem to love the fledges! for them to have a sibling would be awesome! ( they we can go crazy getting it in all the retired colors too, as limited productions, uh oh! 😯 )
woo hoo! seconded! i gotta have a sitting spectral in brown, ruby and black gold! most of all ruby!! but still the brown would be nice too since i missed the ows…the eyes look really sharp for some reason with the brown…

i didn’t know what they would do once a bidder was involved, but then again that is the most important time to do something, to protect the buyer from getting something that isn’t the exact item. i have sympathy for people without cameras, (but honestly if you are selling on ebay you NEED one), but often peeps just borrow from an official site like astral castle, with daves’ permission first, since he has such a great reference site.
more than anything i would hate for someone to spend big (or any) money on something that would not look the same or be in the same condition. i bought some sculptures back in the day on ebay that claimed they were the same as the pic and weren’t… i really waffled between several different pieces to get one with the perfect finish for where it was going and it arrived totally different! gah! i had to repaint the piece and rework the detail (covered in plaster chunks and pitting) but that was a really extreme case….but anyhoo, i’d just hate for anyone to be misled and then feel like a monkey…oh nooooooooo and it has a bid! by a lady that bid on my original one!! i hope she doesn’t think its the same auction again!! 😯 help!!!! gah!! they bid hard on mine and i’d hate to see them be dissappointed with what they get, or this its me!! 😯

anyhoo, bottom line is if you are looking for one, that is NOT the uni you will be getting, its mine and is already in its new home in washington state. i reported them to ebay and we will see if they can do anything, as the pics are misleading and just plain uncool to steal pics. i didn’t put a watermark on my pics which i should have and will do from now on, i just didn’t think about it…i worried more about it for pyos..but still i took them myself of the actual item.
not to mention they say you can put it outdoors which we all know is false! duh!
anyway, i just wanted to warn you guys that that isn’t the actual uni and they used my pics without my permission, so who knows what it really looks like or how its damage is….oh hey no sweat! gotta share good info like that! 🙂 i always found cameras more arrgrevating than they were worth til i tried this one and it so easy! i yell it out every time i use it,” oh this is SO easy! OH!” lol! my dad was laughing his butt off watching me use it. a big tip for it though is you want to buy a bigger memory card for it, so that way to can take TONS of pics freely, and have enough space to take multiple movies. my dad got me a sandisk 2 GB card for it, which holds a ton. i think one 30 second movie fills the whole small card that it comes with initially, lol. the other thing was we have yet to figure out how to take a movie longer than 30 seconds.. you can just press the tape button again and continue on, but it breaks your filming up…. we are still learning how to use it though, so there may be a way around it, but hey its a camera not a camcorder…other than than its awesome and great color accuracy too. 🙂 ( gee, i don’t drift off topic,lol )
