There are only 2 boyds that I’d really go for, but I’d have to wait a few weeks (if you did have them). Trying to be good for the rest of the month 🙄 . They are Humboldt and Caledonia (one is brown, one is white, both have little studded colors). They are smaller if I remember correctly.
If the factory doesn’t move between now and the end of January, I’ll be able to see! East Coast represent! 8)
Absolutely gorgeous!!!! I just found out I’m visiting my friend in Palm Springs in January. If the factory hasn’t moved by then, I want to plan a day to go visit the factory! First trip to CA! I want to oogle at the windstone eye candy too!
Good luck! *fingers & toes crossed*
ACK!!!! I just managed to start collecting last year! There are a few stores near me with hoards of Fenton, so I’m sure they will still have their stock for some time, until they exhaust it (some of it is way retired… just until the right person comes along). My mom has a bunch of old milk glass and some depression glass (not sure if the depression glass is Fenton… it’s UV reactive ). This is very sad 🙁 I’d always look forward to their shows on QVC too. I hope a restructuring offer/plan does come through by the end of the month *sniff sniff*. It doesn’t help that we are very likely heading into a recession, from what has been going on with the money markets at the moment (sub-prime mortgages, over inflation of housing prices/values). The arts always get hit first 😥 😥 *hugs my fenton and windstones*
Really? In the pizza picture, it’s really hard to see that #15 is Autumn Leaf. Oooooh, I would love to see an autumn leaf poad in person 8) or in my collection
Awww man… always when I don’t have money do the things I want come up :
Awwwww *huggles* Best wishes for a speedy recovery PT!
Wrapping a breakable/fragile sculpture in a plastic bag, then setting it in a box does not constitute sufficient cushioning. I find it funny that on her auction it states “If there are any special requests for anything, I am more than happy to help.” Apparently adding insurance to an item if requested or packing a breakable item properly don’t count 🙄 Sounds like she doesn’t really go by what her auction says, on that account anyway. I’d email her pictures of how the little guy arrived because of her incompetence.
I’d contact ebay and get them involved if she is being such a stinker.

There are more Black Peacock POADS(tm) in the store. They should be ready to ship tomorrow but they aren’t packed up yet so there could be a delay until Monday if for some reason they can’t be packed tomorrow. I thought I’d better stock the store so that those of you who work during the day can order them this evening!

Thank you Susie and thank you Tom! *hugs* 😀
Adaneth wrote:Same here. 😥 I dropped by on my 2 pm break…nothing. Drop by when I got home from work at 5–all sold out already! That’s what I get for having a job. 🙄
Indeed! I had to log off so I could drive in to work. At least there will be more 🙂

they only listed 15 they will list more later….
that’s from Susie
Ah, ok. I was going to say, I was only offline for a little while. If all 60 had been snatched up, I think I’d have a heart attack! 😯 😯
Check out His Dark Materials Trilogy by Philip Pullman (The Golden Compass, The Subtle Knife, The Amber Spyglass). The Golden Compass is coming out at the end of the year in a movie (that looks absolutely awesome). It takes place in a parallel world (similar to our own), but everyone has a familiar that is kind of like your soul, only it is external and is in the form or some sort of animal.
Just starting to read Stardust right now by Neil Gaiman. I love his Sandman books (Graphic novels/comics that really go beyond the typical comic – covers philosophy to mythology to Shakespeare). I highly recommend his book Smoke and Mirrors (short stories).
If you like humor, there is always Terry Pratchett (start with the Color of Magic as a recommend).
Kinda liked the Shadow Saga by Christopher Golden (Of Saints and Shadows, Of Masques and Martyrs, etc. – I think there are 4 books in total – haven’t read the 4th yet). If you like Vampires that is. Marion Zimmer Bradley’s The Mists of Avalon, but not sure if that is too romantic for you.Sounds like a good color scheme to me! Maybe one similar to the Merlot little dragon?
Nambroth wrote:I don’t know. All I have right now are ‘naked’ emperors, so for now, no. Matching this guy would be wildly difficult, as he is about 34287501275925.732* layers of rubbed on pigments and paints. The liklihood that I’ll make another JUST like him is very low. However, we don’t want to make any of my stuff ‘one of a kind’ anymore in case we want to try and make more later. So, for now, he is “Neptune Emperor #1” and I don’t know if there will ever be more. Possibly, but the truth is that I don’t know if I can ever match his colors exactly again.
* – this is a slight exaggeration of course.
You could always do variations on a theme… kinda like the VFs have variation or the peacocks have variation. Neptune variations! Sounds like a song…
