Well, the only time I went fishing for vendors, I brought my White Young Dragon and my Emerald Old Warrior, mostly because those two were the only ones I had on hand. (I’m a college student — the rest of my Windstones are at my parents’ house, in another state.)

She was *VERY* impressed with the OW! 🙂 Maybe a little too impressed — she was disappointed that they don’t make that color anymore. So maybe when you go, bring at least one currently-available dragon, if possible?

      Good luck!

I don’t think that place ever picked up Windstones, did they? I went in there too with my Black Gold male. I didn’t speak to the owner, but the gal working looked at the dragons, made impressed noises and took a message for the owner.

That’s awesome purpledoggy. A win for all involved!

BDW – OK! Can’t wait to see your bird! My name is actually a take on Rusty Wallace, the NASCAR driver, since retired, who I am a fan of. One of my dad’s friends started calling me ‘Rusty’ whenever he saw me, so, I just adopted and adapted it.

SilverArrow – I’m broke too, honestly, but I can eat ramen for a month…or three. I’m done now. There’s nothing pressing that I’m looking for or that can’t wait until I have a little more funds on hand. If I see another one come up, I’ll certainly let you know.

I don’t, that’s the problem. 🙂 Everyone else does before me. I think it’s a case of refreshing the ebay page every few minutes or so to see what’s been posted.

            Those deals rarely last long.

If that one gets here safely, I have them all.

All three suns, all four regular and all five babes.

It’s hard to say if I’ll ever be able to get my mitts on one of the special edition Suns, but I can try.

Ah, sorry BDW. 😉 You had quoted my post so I thought you were talking to me.

And yeah, Keschete, I just don’t have time to sit on ebay and snap up the insane BIN deals that show up and are gone in minutes. My instructors might get upset if they caught me cruising ebay on my laptop instead of following along in Dreamweaver. ;P

Cursing and muttering and laughing definitely do enter the equation. I must admit I was determined not to lose that dragon to you. ;D

Sometime when they communicate too much it can be a bad indication. Sorry have to say this. I was having trouble with a seller about not receiving some fossils I had ordered and I open a dispute after two months. They communicated with me though out the dispute said they would verify with the post office since I had paid insurance(they never gave me the number I needed for the insurance). Meanwhile since they were communicating so well I trusted them. When the time was up for the dispute and could no longer put a claim on them, they totaly ignored me would not answer my calls or emails. I phone the post office they were dealing with and the clerk said he knew them and that they never made an insurance claim, not there or any other post office (he verified). That seller lied to me the whole time and 👿 I can’t do anything about it. So I learned a lesson that day about trusting. So please be careful. 😯

I do appreciate where you’re coming from, but I’m not getting a bad vibe just yet. I paid with paypal, so if something goes wrong I can dispute it and get my money back. 🙂 Then I’ll only be out the oriental and I’ll just have to wait a little while longer.

I’d say 90% of the folks on ebay are pretty decent, it’s just the other 10% that makes it difficult to fully trust.

If all goes well, I’ll be able to post pics of the full set of Orientals when it gets here.

Was this the guns2324 fellow who also had the peacock oriental we had a little bidding war over, Keschete?

If it is, he’s been super communicative with the dragon I won and said he would double box and ship today. I suppose we’ll find out soon enough if that’s true.

Best of luck, whatever you decide to do.

Things are finally looking up for you, and I’m glad. I’ll echo ddvm on the kitty vet visit.

                            Good luck!

Been a vet tech for five years and I just disagree with you Kyrin. 😉

All the declaws I’ve ever seen were doing the foot shaking because of the booties. As soon as the booties came off, they cleaned their feet and left it at that.

I have never heard of litterbox problems afterward if the owner used a substitute like Yesterday’s News for ten days after the surgery as opposed to immediately putting them back on hard litter. Not one.

Yes, declawing is removal of the first joint on the foot. And as ddvm said, done properly and with the right pain management, kitty would do wonderfully and be just fine.

Doing what I did, I wasn’t in a position to judge or take extremist stances, otherwise, my boss wouldn’t be the only thing burning me out. Personally, I feel that rehoming the cat, especially if he’s so attached to his owners, would be more traumatic and stressful than a declaw.

And Purpledoggy can do the litterbox, but she needs to get some latex gloves, dust masks and wash her hands thoroughly afterward. It’s unlikely her indoor kitty has toxoplasmosis, but the gloves and the mask are good precautions.

Soft paws are a decent alternative, but to be quite frank, don’t beat yourself up if you have to declaw your kitty. Try Soft Paws first and see how they work out, you may be surprised

I have to admit that I have seen worse things done to cats than declawing, so I’m not in agreement with everyone else on being ‘totally against’ declawing. In some cases declawing means having a good home vs. premature euthanasia. It’s a good thing to avoid if you can help it, but when given the choice between losing a joint off your finger or death, I can do without my fingernails and finger tips.

If it comes down to you having to declaw, just take a deep breath and don’t call yourself horrible. Quiz your vet about pain management protocols pre and post surgery, they can make a world of difference sometimes!
