I was going to suggest plastic conduit pipe, but after reading Lamortefille’s link, looks like I have a lot of research to do tonight on the subject of potential hazards of plastic digestion in animals. >.<

Anyways, I didn’t know there was so many creative methods of making the wires less appealing. I have/had the same chewing problems with my rabbits, rats, and now a puppy (my cats never cared). Leo just ate through the TV cord in the kitchen. Thankfully he wasn’t electrocuted (I don’t remember if it was plugged in or not), but now the TV’s a big paperweight.

If you have someone handy, just strip and splice the wires and cover them up in electrical tape. My mother managed to set the brush part of my vacuum down on the cord (it’s a Bissel Pet Hair eraser) and it ate right through the cord. Dad spliced the cord back together and it works just as well as it ever did.

Yes, if the owner comes forward, claims the dog and pays the bill, the vet has no legal recourse but to return the dog.

BTW, sometimes Sh!t happens and dogs get away from you despite your best efforts. We can’t make assumptions without knowing the whole story. Maybe the dog is a door dasher who ran out behind its owner and took off before the owner could catch it, for instance.

Honestly, having been in the seller’s position, blindsided by the hold, I can understand the reluctance (or in some cases, the total inability – hey, shipping funds are held too!) to ship without money in hand.

I think that any further auction I post may have a possible ship time of three weeks. Paypal/Ebay’s policies have become so one-sided it’s barely worth it for small sellers to use it anymore.

Paypal had too many problems when they had less rules. Now they add more complicated (bulloxed up) rules where they have to keep funds in holding?! I can just see them losing many transactions and blaming it on seller and buyer to save their butts. Seems to me Ebay and Paypal have become greedy bastards and I can’t wait for a similar company to rival the heck out of them, and have the boom ebay initially did. Really hope something happens that will knock both companies down a peg. They make things too difficult and can’t seem to strike a balance for both buyer and seller, imo.

Do they only do this kind of fund hold thing in relation to ebay? I don’t think using PayPal through Windstone store causes PayPal to hold our monies going to this company (or others on the web), right? I hope not! What a PITA.

              No, it’s ebay transactions only.

Yeah, the 21 day hold really upset me at that point in time as I sold the dragon because I needed that money right away so I could pay my rent! Fortunately I had a cooperative buyer who was more than happy to immediately leave me positive feedback the moment she received her dragon so I could call paypal and get the funds released.

They don’t even release the shipping portion to you, they hold it all. Had I the time or the inclination at that moment I might have called Paypal and been tetchy about it, as I was pretty unhappy to be shipping an item when I didn’t even have my money yet. And I question the legality of the matter, to be honest, it all seems like a ploy for them to gather more interest.

But yes, explain to the seller what’s going on, and if your emp is in good condition when you receive, you can leave positive feed back asap so he can get his funds released.

What is the seller’s feedback rating (how many feedback has he got total?)

Back in February, the last time I sold a Windstone on ebay, Paypal smacked me with a 21 day hold policy (21 days until I could get my money unless I put DC or tracking on the package and PP confirmed it delivered or I got positive feedback on it). As far as I know this policy is still in effect, which is why I’m super reluctant to sell on ebay anymore.

If this is the case for your seller, it will look for all the world to you like you paid him, the money is gone, but PP is holding onto it. It will show he has a hold in his account, but the funds won’t be available to him.

OK, so I’m less than interested in putting anything on ebay considering Paypal held my funds last time I sold a Windstone through them. I will do a payment plan if someone were interested and needed one.

Still looking to get $150 for her.

I sorely wish her red interference showed up in pictures. I don’t even get home of an evening before the sun goes down now, so I can’t even try to get it to flash in the sun. But as for her eyes, I wanted to use Straw or grey, but the blue eyes was what I had, so blue eyes she has!

More or less finished! All she lacks is another coat of sealer to protect the touch ups I put on top of the first one.

She’s been antiqued with a gray iridescent mix to make her glow and her tail is done up to be her ‘brush’.

I’ll be posting her in the Flea Market later on this week after she’s been officially sealed up and is ready to find a home.
