Yeah, i really liked that text but was kind of disappointed it didn’t come with a ‘bold’ option. I don’t think I’ve got anything else like it installed with Illustrator.

I’ll just have to piddle some more. I still have three others to finish.

This is for my intro to computer graphics class (where we’re learning all the ins and outs of Illustrator and Photoshop) and our current assignment is to promote ourselves through some way, like a business card, poster, splash page, etc. using a self portrait (defined quite liberally). We had to do four different versions to appeal to four different audiences.

I got one done last night, sort of, there are a couple things I need to add, since right now it looks more like a t-shirt design. I’m not sure what happened to the black in the transition from Illustrator document to JPG, but I’m still working on that. It’s not super imperative, as we don’t turn in JPGs in class.

          Anyway, without further ado:

The way I see it, drag0n, if they’re lazy/dumb/silly enough to pay it without doing their own research, more power to ya. The resources are there, they’re just not looking for them (and it’s not like they’re difficult to find).

Hope you can pay your mum and shut her up, and find someplace else to live quick!

                  Heh, thanks!

I haven’t looked at this one in a couple of weeks, but I still like it… Both of those characters being so close to my heart might have something to do with it.

Last time I went to Disneyworld was 1994, when the Lion King was in theaters. ;P

The secret to avoiding the crowds (and the heat!) is to go at night! We went during the day if we wanted to catch shows, then went back to the resort during the busiest part of the afternoon, then went back at night after the sun went down.

The crowd is much lighter then.

D’aww, thanks. I’m glad she got there A-OK! The only one unaccounted for still is the white male, but I’m sure he got there fine, otherwise I’d probably have heard about it by now.

When I used to drive truck , I remember some of the Ky drivers were really odd. I was in Lousiville a lot, and holy cow. My aunt lives there though, and gets really offensive about driving, so i don’t bring it up much 😆 But she always drives like the back half of her car is on fire.

Yeah, that’s how KY folks tend to drive. I hate going to Paducah, people are insane. They cut you off, tailgate, speed, drive down turn lanes (no kidding, went to turn into a drive at Mayfield, was in the turn lane where I was supposed to be and right next to where I was turning, an older gentleman came barreling down the turn lane, nearly hit me head on, flipped me off, drove around me on the right, went the wrong way down the right side of the road and turned into the hardware store three blocks away) and generally scare me senseless.

My water bill is actually the cheapest. $18.70 and I think that’s the minimum. It’s all I pay every month.

I’m just astounded at the audacity of Ameren. When they talked about this, they said “26-55%’ tops, over the course of the year.

What we are actually getting is 100, 200, 300% increases smacking people across the face. Electricity is kind of essential around here in the dead of winter and the heat of summer. During spring and fall it’s not so bad, we can just throw open the windows like I’ve done now. But during the summer, A/C is essential, or people suffer of heat exhaustion and die.

And how do you ask an elderly person to choose between the doctor, their meds or their power bill? Or a single mom to choose between food for her kids, clothes for her kids or her power bill?

Fortunately Springfield was immediately screamed at by people, so they’re working on a bill to rollback the rates and reinstate the freeze that ended and started this mess.

What ticks me off the most in the meantime is that Ameren, whose profits steadily grew during the freeze, is whining that they need to charge these rates or they’ll go bankrupt.

How about not giving your CEOs their $17mil raise, huh? I, personally, am not keen on this society turning into the ‘haves’ and the ‘have nots’. I like being middle class, thanks.

Is anybody else getting tired of money grubbing companies whose CEOs will murder their customers before selling their yacht?

My own bill went from $64 to $104, and I just can’t *wait* to see what this month’s bill is going to be when it gets here. And my coworker’s bill (who works with me at JCPenney) jumped to $400.

That’s not a rate increase, that’s an attack. I’d rather not have to sell Windstones to pay my power bill. That’s ridiculous. Sort of makes me worry a bit about the folks on a fixed income who have to budget carefully getting whacked.

I’ve seen some *amazing* things done with an airbrush, and a fellow that has a shop in a mall in Paducah KY has some paintings of Dodge Vipers up among the T-shirt samples he does and they’re pretty awesome. Having used an airbrush, I know they were more work than spraying a base coat and then shading. He’s got gradients in the track/road, swirls in burnout smoke and all other sorts of coolness that you’d be hard pressed to achieve with a paint brush.

It’s all in what you’re looking for, usually. Don’t sell yourself short just because you use an airbrush and don’t let that chick get to you.

Wish I lived closer, I love seeing that inda stuff

Next time I’m down there, I’ll stop in and ask if they’ve got a website, but I don’t go that way often, since it’s an hour south, and I’ve got malls and walmarts up here without the crazy Kentucky drivers!
