I understand being cautious but that really threw me for a loop, haha.
I don’t understand their reply to you?! You asked about EMT shipping, which I am guessing your were planning to cover…:
Edit – Maybe I am missing reading things, EMT is a form of shipping right?!
No, it is a method of payment that goes directly between banks. It’s really easy and since it is instant (no middle-man) it is non-refundable. I find this sets a lot of people at ease. I guess they hadn’t heard of it either!
But yeah, I said I was planning to cover shipping also, lol.
My GB Pebble Fox arrived today. He’s a handsome gray fox with a dark mask. I was really hoping for a reddish brown fox, so if anyone was looking for this particular gray fox and gets a reddish brown one, I would be open to trade.
Oh oh!! *waves arm* Me Me Me!!! I should get mine in a few days and I’d be happy to trade for a reddish brown one!
Me too, same thing! I sent a message earlier – I’m betting, though, that a few people with red foxes and grey foxes will feel the same way about a trade 😀
Congrats to the winners!
This was fun. Can’t wait to see what the next one will be!
Just as a general update, this is the progress I made last night.
I was lucky with the right wing, which was almost in one large chunk. (Charlie wouldn’t move… He’s a brat, and I am an enabler)
It’s hard to see, but there are about ten pieces stuck carefully together here…
Another 5+? tiny pieces here in the ear.I could find no other intact pieces that made sense. The rest were basically all dust.
I may try my hand at sculpting the rest tomorrow.
Here is a quick tutorial from way back in the day I did
http://windstoneeditions.com/forum/peacock-male-repair-picture-tutorial-image-heavy
with the store texture pieces, I use a terrycloth towel and lightly mush it into the wet apoxie sculpt to get the “stone-like” texture, works awesome.
Thank you! I spent a lot of last night carefully assembling and gluing about a million tiny pieces, lol 🙂
I was looking at your tutorial and could not find Apoxie Sculpt, but I did find some air-dry Fimo (basically Sculpey). I will send you a PM!
It was from eBay 🙁 They did pack it pretty well I thought. It was with newspaper, though.
That was actually pretty hard for a newbie! But doable 🙂 Thanks for hosting, this has been fun!
Tentatively there are plans for a grab bag pebble kitty sale (after colts, possibly before more unis) – I’d guess there will probably be some gray cats in that batch!
Ooh that would be lovely. I will keep my fingers crossed 🙂
I am so, so sorry. I lost my cat suddenly as well, just last Tuesday. She was also healthy – The vet said it was a blood clot, that it is relatively common, and that it couldn’t have been prevented. Her heart over-compensated for the clot and eventually gave out.
Her name was also Lilly… how strange.
I don’t know if a healthy animal can die of sorrow, but I know they can become depressed when a lifelong partner or mate dies. It may have weakened her will to live, possibly even her immune system, letting something else in.
I can’t describe or help with the pain of losing a pet, especially a healthy one, and so suddenly… My heart goes out to you. I am so sorry for your loss.
Now that there are horns again (and silver ones especially!), could there maybe be an LP batch of the snow kirins? http://windstoneeditions.com/content/snow-test-paint-1
Mebbe… we are short handed right now, and trying to get the Morphos out!
I will second this squeak! But only if you all have time of course. Even just to keep it in mind if for some distant point in the future <3
I would like to add a squeak for a short-haired feathered Flapcat.
I loveee the new long-haired PYO, but most of the cats I’d like to paint them after are short-haired! I was told it was mentioned in another thread but I couldn’t find it, so I thought I’d say something here. 🙂
There’s an active thread right now about the progress of PYO statues that Melody’s been responding to if you’re interested in asking Melody about the short-haired PYO. Or I could ask her for you, if you want. Otherwise, what about a kitty griffin, maybe? Or if there were any white flapcats made, perhaps you could repaint one without too much trouble?
I will take a look! Thanks.
If there’s a white flapcat that would also possibly be doable. I have seen flat black cats but they seem like they’d be harder to paint over…
One of the PYO sculps that Melody is working on is a short haired flap cat. I don’t know how soon it will be available but it might be what you are looking for….
So sorry about your cat 🙁This is actually good news for me, thank you. Hopefully it is in the near future…
I think the only gray flappers were a set of 12 that were sold on ebay many years ago. I have one. I’ll see if I can remember to get some pics for you. Remeber being the key, my memory is terrible. :~
I would really, really love if you could find a photo for me. Were they batwinged or feathered? Thanks so much.
