January 30, 2012 at 9:39 pm in reply to: January Grab Bag Baby Unicorn – Post them as you get them! #871823Wow! Loving the pics of these guys so far. Wish I could have gotten one myself. The detail on these guys are crazy complex. You rock, Melody  !
January 28, 2012 at 6:10 pm in reply to: The filling of the Grab Bag Baby Unicorn orders 1-26-12 #871535Sorry guys. I didn’t to make a scene and feeling a little sensitive when I wrote that. Art is a very serious thing to me and I do remember the GB poad issue to, and it really bothered me for Melody’s sake. I also appreciate you guys clarifying what you were getting at to. I love you guys :)!
I have to ask will there be any chance for maybe a batch of calico Large Flappers for the store someday – to go with the small calico flappers? No rush because I know your uber busy, but one of my dream pieces has always been a large calico Flapcat :).
January 28, 2012 at 7:13 am in reply to: The filling of the Grab Bag Baby Unicorn orders 1-26-12 #871475I suppose I’m guilty of “complaining”. But I WAS willing to spend money on one of these guys. It wasn’t the item or the price I was complaining about as much as the website not working for me. I gave up because I figured it wasn’t meant to be. Not a big deal.
Anything individually hand painted by Melody is a treasure to me. My GB baby poad’s paint job is gorgeous. I admit, my only “complaint” was the eye color and that wasn’t even a major issue with me. The fact that it’s a unique critter that Melody took the time to paint makes it precious to me. I also appreciate it for the fact that I can’t compete with the ebay items. This way I still get to have a unique Melody item without the hassle of a bidding war. God knows Windstone could make more if they sold these guys on ebay instead of offering them in the store.
I don’t want to come of as being an unappeasable customer. Nothing is further from the truth.January 28, 2012 at 5:13 am in reply to: The filling of the Grab Bag Baby Unicorn orders 1-26-12 #871461This explains why I couldn’t even load the site on my computer. I got tired of waiting for the page to load and gave up on getting a unicorn. Kinda bums me out because I would have liked to get one of these guys. Never got a single GB uni to date.
It’s cool, though. I’ll just buy more PYOs with the money I would have spent on a gb uni. I know it may mot be a lot for some collectors – and not that they aren’t worth it – but 98 dollars for something I don’t know if I even going to like is a lot for me. I give up on the whole GB thing.Man! I missed you and your killer Keepers.
Doppler is such a cool idea and beautifully executed. And here’s another guy that I finished for a trade with Koishii 🙂 He is called Tidal and his wing designs are supposed to mimic the way light casts through water. The orange detailing was inspired by coral reefs.
I can never seem to photograph his blues exactly right! He is a little darker in person, especially on the wing detailing 🙂
All I have to say is :jawdrop: …
The wings are so perfect and I love the colors. It’s kinda funny – I’m working on a Keeper in almost the same color scheme. A ‘water inspired’ dragon as well. But no red on my fellow and he has metallic gold eyes ;).Love her! I wish I could paint lines as neatly and precisely as you do. Exceptional work as always.
I think she did a spectacular job on this and I hope she gets a lot for him. If I had any money right now I’d bid on him. Heres to hoping Windstone will make colored Pegasus of their own. I’m still hoping for a LP buckskin or leopard Appaloosa…
I wouldn’t mind another batch of baby GB poads. But there is no hurry (not on my part anyways). I need to do my taxes before I even THINK of buying anymore Windstones…
The more I see this color the more I like it. That OW on Ebay is particularly lovely.
Our pewter eggs are actually made with a tang that goes into a hole in the mamma dragon sculpt, to anchor the egg in place, so it wouldn’t be impossible to use a stone egg. Our mamma dragon “eggs” aren’t shaped like eggs when they are loose. They are shaped somewhat like a deformed butternut squash.
So how about putting tiny deformed butternut squash in the sculpt then 😀 ?…Could even paint them pink  …
AND pink coiled mommas  ….
especially since her wings make a perfect heart shape…
twindragonsmum
And she has a cute little heart on her forehead :).
As for the egg issue – maybe they could use egg shaped stones? Maybe rose quartz. I’m sure it may cost more, but I’d be willing to pay a little more for it. It would make them a bit more unique from the other coiled mommas.PM’ed ya 🙂
