While I’m not familiar with the referent, it pulls together beautifully. He makes a good ember sort of dragon
Oh, he looks like he’s going to be lovely, he already is.
Wow, thank you, my dragon flew here! Normally it takes a week or more for things to get to Florida, but he was waiting for me when I got home from work today.
Been without water since they did it Sunday morning- lots of people around had damage due to the severe freeze, so plumbers haven’t been available. But my neighbor’s handyman just made it back to town and got the pipe plugged for me so I could turn on the water again. I am so blessed to be able to flush the toilet and wash. He didn’t rape me either.
I can do some of my own handymanning, but a pipe in the wall was beyond my skillset.
Its actually kind of haha funny that they HAD to choose a day all the plumbing went out in Florida. Maybe it really is a blessing on that I couldn’t get a regular expensive plumber.I think different people use different brands, but I use a Deco Art antiquing medium and blend in whichever paint I’m using. I use Golden paints on the Windstones (which is the brand Windstone uses) but have done the same with craft brand paints on non Windstone figures. No reason behind the Deco Art, it is just the antiquing medium I was able to find. It has worked fine for me though.
I use a blob of the antiquing, just enough paint to color it, and a dab of retarder to be safe. Smear it over a fairly small area making sure you get it down into the cracks and crevices, then wipe it gently off before it can start to dry (that’s why you work in small areas). I also clearcoat the figure before antiquing so I don’t so easily damage the paint job in wiping or by the paint being stained by the antiquing,Sorry Im a downer. my dogs know that I turn on the faucet and the water comes out the hose. My digs decided they wanted to play in the water, My dogs pulled the faucet off the wall, breaking the pipe off in the wall. They better be glad I love them.
I got a lovely little antique side table for mine- we call it the Queen’s Throne. Put a spot lamp over it and she looked great. Really the only problem is it doesn’t protect her from the environment. no way would I trust her to any glass shelf; I’ve heard too many horror stories with just the ‘regular’ Windstones.
Dropped while I was at work and missed them. *sad* But I’m on the waitlist so all is well.
Thank you! Looking forward to a dragonfeathers to paint.

Thanks Rhoda! They took too long and I can’t blame anything but myself, but the recipient seems happy with them.
