I remember some folk were calling the laying down garden dragon scuplture Melody never mass produced the empress. If I recall it right, ‘she’ looked more like the same ‘species’ as the OW. So maybe that still wouldn’t give us an empress…
(though I’d still love to see this piece produced!)

Bosky, I really like the desert blossom and wood dragons!
And Emerald, your verdigris is lovely! I also would LOVE a better look at Koishii’s mint dragon- I don’t remember her posting that one, and yum!

I’m old enough to have bought the original animals if I’d seen and wanted them- imagine what I could trade for or sell the ones I didn’t want to keep! 😛
          Or that brown emp!

Actually, the only retired pieces coming to mind at the moment are a peacock risisng spectral, and the kirin adults as gifts. But I have purchased my most recent pieces after their retirement, so I could have saved myself some cash and grief by buying back-when!

My #6 (out of 10 I think) LE empea OW was a bit over $700 with shipping. Hopefully, there will one day be a SK outpricing him…

After some of the recent threads about most/least favorite paints/sculpts, I was wondering, if you could change something about a color scheme, paint job on a sculpt, or a sculpt itself, what would it be?
For example, with color scheme, I love browns, but I find the blue eye with them jarring. I think I’d love them as much as old greens if it weren’t for the blue eyes. I think that yellow would look much better with the brown. Same for black and gold, an attractive color scheme, but so much more harmonius if the eyes were yellow instead of blue.
For paint job on a sculpt, I’ve been so tempted to paint my emerald hatching emperor’s tongue pink, or blue/purple… something more, well, tongueish than emerald is. From a distance, it’s hard to see his mouth’s open.
A lot of people didn’t like the hatchling in other threads. I like the hatchling, but would like the egg to be larger. Not to sure about the ear-things on some of the more recent dragons also, but then, I also like the male and female’s non-metallic horns.

What about you? (and I don’t mean this thread to denigrate Melody’s work, anything but! Just curious about people’s thoughts, and if there are some common areas, maybe it can help her with future ideas)

                Great find! Congratulations!
I haven’t seen a Jade IRL yet, but it looks beautiful on the Westerns (don’t think I prefer it on the Orientals). Maybe someday I can ‘try it out’ on a coiled!

It wasn’t me, I swear! Though I wish it was for one of them. 🙁
I also only really want that pose in a peacock. None of the other colors ‘do it’ for me with that sculpt.

*looks but can’t find business card* I think its name is Yesterdays and Todays; it’s a (mostly) secondhand shop on 1st Street in downtown Sanford. I really don’t remember the wizard’s price, but think it was somewhere around $50.

I know some people here use Apple Barrel paints, and thought they might be able to use this. I was just at my Walmarts, and they had it on sale for $0.44 a bottle. It wasn’t marked on sale; I don’t know if this is all Walmarts, or if it is all colors (I just bought 1 bottle I needed to finish a gift, and didn’t know until it was rung up). If it is most/all colors and chain wide though, it would be worth stocking up!

Sorry Ski and Travestie, but pink is a color I REALLY don’t like! I would not buy a pink dragon of any sculpt.

Having said that though, I must admit I do like Ski’s shell-pink scratcher. Just not for me. (there’s a pic of a pink OW?! Ugh! 😯 )

Looks like there’d be a very limited market for pink; they’d sell, especially in the smaller and/or more feminine sculpts, but not too many. Good maybe for a very short (like maybe 10 per sculpt?) run.

I like the blue and silver better than the blue and gold personally. I like Melody’s idea of replacing the gold down the leg with silver. All in all though, a striking paint job; I like this one a lot. A Moon dragon like this would be AWESOME.

That reddish-brown and rainbow paint job on the griffin is REALLY sharp! 😉
I don’t collect the griffins and probably won’t ever get one, but the only one(s) I’ve seen that tempt me as much are the Labradorites of Nam’s.

No, I think she means how the old green is in very limited quantity. If I ever end up with a big enough chunk of change, I swear I’ll buy them some! 😛

I would like to do every piece in every production color someday, in limited production if not production.I can’t promise when exactly. we got so much stuff to paint now we can’t keep up.

So maybe there’s a faint hope for a few old greens someday? *swoons*

There was an emerald mouse at a shop near me, I can try to get there and see if they still have it.
