Coiled mother, then fledge. My step-daughter says hatching empress, too. 🙂
Ruffian–Love the blue PYO in the first picture! You have an incredible collection. 8)
I still need to get pictures of ours as they come in, and then will have to figure out how to show them to everyone… 😕

As for things Ive said here, I was talking about what happens on eBay in general, and not necessarily this auction. It’s been said that if someone was looking for their final piece, that that wouldnt surprise ppl here when the price goes up.
It does stink that you had to deal with a bidding war which drive the price up. I hope she arrives to you in perfect condition and brings you guys much happiness. I think what youre doing (exchanging etc) is actually very sweet.
Congrats!!!
Thanks!
Not offended, just wanted to tell our side of things!
Ebay is a nightmare at times, and I’ve been lucky enough to find all of my husband’s dragons through the local dealers, and 2 specifically through tips from this forum. (thanks again, you know who you are!!!)
WHOA! Since my husband and I are the ones you’re talking about with the P mother coiled, I figured I’d fill you in on what’s going on:
We DID do the research on most of these, however we are exchanging complete sets of dragons as wedding gifts to each other, and SAVED $ for over a year specifically for windstone purchases. Some of the research was done after the bidding spree, and we did kick ourselves when we found local dealers with much better prices. 😳
Since there really isn’t a site for one-stop-shopping on what each piece is worth, and we both work too many hours each day, research time was not always fruitful–even here in this forum.
Two other names came up on the bidding on the P mother, and they were the ones that pushed the price up. Personally, I would’ve stopped at about $315, but since it’s one of the last ones we need in P, he bought it anyway.
The BVP OW#6 was free because of a slot machine in Central City (big gambling town in Colorado). 😀 He is the crown jewel in our brand new collection! Again, someone else started fighting for it, and pushed the price up.
Over the last couple of weeks, I think I’ve talked to or emailed every dealer in Colorado, the surrounding states, and anywhere I have family!
Bottom line–nothing illegal is going on, we’re just having A LOT OF FUN, and have gotten 25 dragons, two sconces, a cat’s cradle, and a candlelamp since the 12th of August. I’d say that’s one awesome dragon hunt, and if we helped some folks out when they needed money, that’s even better.
Don’t think anyone but the staff at WE could put two retired collections together as quickly as we have done, although I could be wrong! 🙂
Now for the griffins! 😆 (just kidding! that’s my goal for 2009…)
Later!
Got one for my step-daughter for Christmas! 😀
20 left!
Hey-Take a deep breath. Chin up! Don’t let them (the army) make up your mind for you! I got out of the AF because I couldn’t cross-train, almost went Guard, then went AF civilian instead.
You’re smart and have a great sense of humor, and you need both right now. Keep doing the research and see what all your options are–you might find something you weren’t expecting.
The hard part is, of course, making that final decision that’s best for you and your son. Just make sure it is YOUR decision.
You’re strong and you will get through this! And, you have untold numbers of windstone fanatics to use as sounding boards…
Thanks for your years of service to your country!
Blessings, hugs, and prayers for you both!Tintaglia wrote:PhoenixTears wrote:Also, if there isnt already some kind of link to it, perhaps a list of Windstone abbreviations and what they actually stand for would help a lot.
Ive picked up a lot here, but some still confuses me. Windstone collectors not here might not understand LE or LP, IVEP, EMPEA, etc. Just a thought. Could do same thing for “MIB and NWT” in case they arent eBay savvy.
Same for me, PT. I finally figured out LE and LP. Though, SK still makes me think ShadowKnight. 😀
I have no idea what NWT means on Ebay. North West Territories is all I can think of. 🙂
I think it’s ‘new with tag’ but I’m new to Ebay, so I could easily be wrong! 🙂

beware that Photobuckets will sell your photosThanks for the warning! 😯 I’ll have to figure something else out for the pics…
I think the other one they have tlked about here is Image Shack or something like that
Thanks! I’ll look into that when I’m not hunting dragons!
Oh, RATS!!! I just missed a Peacock Spectral! Gah!!! (banging head on keyboard) Should’ve called them last week… 😥
Ravnheart wrote:For cleaning cloths for these I highly recommend Micro cloths. I got like 6 when I ordered something, and OMG they are the most amazing things! I use mine for cleaning glass as well. They leave no streaks and leave it spotless! Just use a tad of water and it is cleaner then using cleaners! 🙂
here is a link for an idea 🙂
http://magicmicrocloth.com/Thanks, Ravnheart! I’ll take a look at the link and will probably try them out. 🙂

there was one once. I KNOW EVERYONE would hurt me but I squirted Windex on a papertowel and wiped it on the Winstone. They came out shiny but then I was told NOT to use something that harsh. since they are all behind glass now it doesn not really matter anymore
My Peacock Emperor has dust and GREASE on him that really needs to come off. (He’s from Ebay, so I didn’t know what to expect…) I don’t want to hurt the finish, but he needs a bath! 😆
This is one of the things I’ll include in the FAQ, but since you want to know now, here’s what I’d recommend:
Try to remove as much loose dust and dirt with a can of compressed air (available at office supply stores, or in the electronics section of any chain store). Any dust that is being stubborn can usually be worked loose with a clean, dry paintbrush. I have one that has medium to stiff bristles that was sold as a makeup applying brush that works really well, but any clean and dry paintbrush will do.
If you have sticky spots on him, try to gently and carefully work them off with a damp, soft and clean cloth. Avoid any chemical cleaners if possible as they may react with the Windstone’s finish in ways we cannot predict (and may damage it). Let me know if that helps!
Thank you, Nambroth! I’ll try this and let everyone know what happens. Also thanks for the tip on canned air–I use it a lot, but wasn’t sure if I should use it on these.
Jasmine wrote:Hey there, welcome to the nut house!! Congrats on getting married and exchanging Windstone’s is a seriously cool idea. Wonder if Melody would let me set up a wedding gift registry??? How cool would that be??
It would be great for everyone–maybe just a regular gift registry for birthdays and things.
We’ve been all over the place, driving dealers and everyone else nute over the last few weeks. Twenty two (and a half) dragons, and 4 other WE pieces since August 12th! I’m negotiating for another ruby right now, hence the half!
Saved for about a year first so we could pounce all at once, now we need to start slowing down…
