Wha??? Aren’t you the High Supreme Master of test paints at the factory??
Well, yeah, that is mostly with an airbrush. That’s different. I’m not modest about my airbrushing skills. I am about half as good as the Windstone painters. That’s bragging.
It isn’t false modesty when I say I can’t hand paint.. I’ve tried! My hand just isn’t steady enough to do it well. I’ve watched our hand painters at Windstone paint the little eyeballs on the Cherubs,(remember those?) I knew how, but I simply couldn’t physically do it.
I tell ya.. when I see the beautiful pyos all you folks have done in the gallery, I just go “Agh! How did they DO that?!?”
I sent the first pyos to Nam and had her figure out how to do it!

It’s at $410 and somebody said they’re still available from the factory? Or that there will be more of them later on because they were limited production?

No, there are no more available from the factory, and I have no plans to make more. I left the option of making more in the future open though, since they aren’t a limited eduition.. If I ever do, they will have the pearly toenail paint of the Blue eyed Pearl albinos, so the first batch will always be different.

I love to see these guys go for more that they were purchased for! I know that not every one liked the pink eyed ones, but I love ’em.

If anybody ever emails Windstone, or me, and doesn’t get a response, DO IT AGAIN. Who knows why we didn’t get the email, but this happens. I always answer my emails, as long as my computer doesn’t break down. This happens too..

Sorry, it did say “emp.” They were talking about laps, and I read “lap”.
So, it’s still ok to keep stepping on mine.

Yeah, that is how I feel. It seems like a reserve is a way for a seller to dangle and item over your head and say “Jump! Jump!”. Humiliating. I’d rather stalk and snipe when I can clearly see the quarry… grrr

Once you meet the reserve, that is the minimum bid. If the reserve is $100, and you bid $125 and you are the only bidder, the current bid on the item will be $100. If you bid $180 on an item with a reserve of $180, then the current bid will be $180. Its just the minimum a seller will accept for an item.

I don’t understand why the sellers do that.. why not state the reserve price, isn’t that the same thing as having an opening bid amount? What is the advantage of having it be a dark secret?? Anybody know?

A Jade Empress?!? I didn’t know there was a Jade Empress!! Where did you find her??
What a wonderful and rare collection you have!
These Jade guys are a total mystery to us. We don’t know how many there are, how many different designs there are or even how they got painted…I am accumulating info from you folks about them!
I suspect that several of of our dragon designs got painted this color, but we just have no idea! It is kinda fun to discover this sort of thing.

How DOES that kind of thing happen? LOL Who is allowed to paint your dragons besides you and your people? Or is this the first time it’s happened? Well, it happened with these and the orange eyed emeralds. Nobody knows how it happened! Apparantly we weren’t very clear on the paint scheme for the Emeralds! Or, we intentionally did these in jade… but we don’t remember doing it. We certainly would of called them “Jade” on the price list if it was intentional! …really weird.
I wasn’t at the factory very often during the child bearing years. I worked at home. Stuff like this could happen, but for nobody to notice they were Jade?… and then not remember it? Weird. Fun, but weird.

So it was someone working for you to paint them that got a little creative with the green? That’s weirder than snake shoes!

I have definitely seen a yellow-eyed emerald on Ebay at least once, i just thought they were an older version of the emerald! LOLNo, it is weirder than that ! Several people work on each cartfull of dragons, they get base coated, painted, antiqued, detailed, eyes jewels and packed! That is five places, and five different people at least, that would of noticed something wrong. That is why the painters must of thought that that is how they were supposed to be painted, it wasn’t an accident. It is just that nobody ( people in the office, John or I) can remember how or why they got painted that way…if anyone knew they were being painted Jade, we would of called them Jade on the price list, and sold them that way.
I knew that we had done some jade coiled dragons and test marketed them that way, but these others are a suprise to me! Maybe they are test paints too.
It is also very possible that our memories are terrible.
The orange eyed emeralds do seem to be the older version of the red eyed ones.

I know it’s a horrible thought but could someone have purchased the Emerald since they have the red eyes and air brushed them jade??

That is highly doubtful.No. I am absolutley sure the Jades are real, because they have the same accent color as the jade Orientals. It is a unique paint mix that we used, so it would be hard for anyone to mimic that…and why would anyone bother, anyway? Also, if a dragon gets repainted, the pad would probably show some evidence of paint over spray on it. I try very hard to keep paint off of the O.W. prototype’s pads when I repaint them, but they almost always get a little on them.

I can understand the orange eyes getting put in the Emerald dragons, because these replaced the old green color, and they had the same orange eyes. What I don’t get is the yellow jewel. We never used that jewel in anything but the Pearl dragons.
