I would love to see them with the purple you recently added to the regular golds. I think im gonna collect the whole family 🙂
Depends on what you mean by “in the works” . We are planning to do them, but nobody is doing them yet. Make requests, I do as I’m told!

I was wondering what is the story behind the Parliament of Owls candlelamp? What types of owls are these? I think I know what a couple of them are, but I’m not an owl expert, so I thought I’d just ask. This topic may have been covered elsewhere, but I can’t find it. If it has, maybe someone can direct me to the proper thread.
A “parliment” really is the correct term for a group of owls, although as far as I know, owls never group together.
The owls in the candle lamp aren’t accurate, realistic representations of any particular owl species, but they are roughly based on;(from left to right) a Burrowing Owl, a Snowy Owl, a Great Horned Owl( with much shorter horns than they really have) and a Little Owl.whippetluv wrote:Sorry to drag up an old post…but it was the newest about the baby gryphons!
I am working on saving up for them…but I need some PYOs too. So since I won’t be able to afford both at the same time, can you update us with…About when the pearl babies will be ready. no need to be real close, just a broad idea. Within a month…a few months…you know kinda that idea.
And Mommy and Daddy were 250 each…what about the babies? Will they be sold as a pair? And vauge price ideas?
I know I am a pain in the butt to ask…sorry. The first sitting
chicks will PROBABLY get put on ebay THIS WEEK. This first batch of pearl chicks was already half finished last Friaday.
We haven’t given them a price yet. The crouching one isn’t in production. He had belly-casting issues. Soon.copper83 wrote:I have some of your art prints and recently found one that I’d love to add to my collection, but it looks like the price is going too high for me. I was wondering if it is still in print? It’s a portrait of a unicorn with leaves and berries and a mouse in his mane. I’ve looked around and haven’t seen anywhere else.
We must be sold out of those prints, since they aren’t on our website. These “out-of-print” prints go for around fifty dollars each, sometimes more…I wish I had kept records of the actual figures. Keep your eyes open, these prints will show up occasionally on ebay.If you find any of them, you can check our website (in the art prints section) to see if it is a design we still have in stock, or not.
Greater Basilisk wrote:I described my view of a basilisk on the last page. Sorry I can-t actually give you a sketch, but I-m not on my own computer right now.
A chimera – for me, a chimera has a lion-s, a goat-s and a dragon-s head, and snake as a tail. But a scorpion tail would be cool, too. Mythologically it-s described as being lion in front, goat in the middle and dragon behind, which I don-t think is quite interesting enough.
Could you do something with that? *hope hope*Are a basilisk and a cockatrice the same thing? I thought a basilisk was a more reptile-like thing.(Harry Potter visuals)
Chimeras seem so … crabby.emerald212 wrote:Melody wrote:Greater Basilisk wrote:A chimera candlelamp. Ooh, I-d buy one in a heartbeat. And as many basilisks as she can come up with, too. 😀
What does a Chimera look like? I picture it as a lion like thing with a human face like a sphynx, but with a snake for tail or a scorpion’s tail.
What does a basilisk look like?
I know I could look it up, but I want to know what you picture it looking like. What you described for a chimera is actually a manticore. A chimera has a body, but with three heads on long necks. One head is a dragon’s head, one is a goat’s head, and the other is a lion head. It has wings. Sometimes the body is the lion’s, sometimes it’s the goat’s, etc. or it can be a combination of all three. The wings are bat-like.
Here’s a photo from Wizards of the Coast:
Oh right, duh, I should know that! I think chimeras are kinda creepy.I am not into multi heads.

Ok, I know I brought it up before but you did mention a raven so I thought if you were in a fowl mood *snicker* you might consider a penguin. I’ll just go sit in the corner now…No penguins. They just aren’t “me”.
Greater Basilisk wrote:I-m still hoping for that hippocampus PYO. How close to done is it?
It is still on paper.
emerald212 wrote:Well, she said she’s not working on any more, but she didn’t say she won’t, so I’ll wait and see what she says. The bunny idea might spark an interest in her too.
Fantasy creatures are cool too. She was asking a while ago about other creatures and there was a long discussion about basilisks and cockatrices. I just figured I’d add more ideas I just thought of and couldn’t find the original thread (actually, I was too lazy to look 😳 ). What do you visualize a basilisk looking like? Is there something about them that would make them recognizable as a distinct animal?
I picture a cockatrice as a dragon rooster.emerald212 wrote:I know you have a lot to do already, Melody, but I was wondering if you are thinking about any new animals in candlelamps or otherwise?
I collect bunnies, and Dexter and Fletcher are next on my list, but it would be nice to see some that weren’t candlelamps… or a circle of bunnies candlelamp. That would be cool.
Also, I know a lot of people that like elephants, so have you ever thought about elephant anythings? I know I could probably sell them as a dealer.
Or weird, mixed up creatures, like chimeras or jabberwockies? Those would probably go well at conventions too.
Ooo ooo, or a fox.OOH, a winged fox? hmmm…
I never considered elephants because there is, or was, another company that specialized in them.It was called.. uh.. Peaceful Kingdom??… I think…or something like that. (not Harmony kingdom) They were really nice elephants.I try to stick to fantasy, except for when I don’t.
Thanks for the suggeswtions!
I want to hear what people want! It helps me decide what to do next.I am cosidering a raven something, hippocampus pyo, cat pyo.. I’d love to do a sphynx or two, but I don’t get very positive reactions to the ones I have done.. people haven’t started collecting them yet, I guess. I love sphynxes.dragonessjade wrote:I would like a SK or the autumn leaf OW on a mens shirt please. Yes, I would rather wear a man’s t-shirt then a Womens.
The loose ones aren’t men’s, they are unisex. The women’s are more fitted ones with shorter, tighter sleeves.
dragonessjade wrote:Speaking of crooks, did you ever get your stuff back or find it?
No. I didn’t expect to, of course. The only thing not replaceable was the art work.. sigh. Probably in a landfill somewhere.
Dragon Master wrote:Melody wrote:Dragon Master wrote:should the pics that just got posted come down? We would not want someone to steal your work with no legal recourse
eh, it’s got a copyright on it, I think it is safe, but I should ask someone if that pic is okay or not. Gad, we are picky..
In this day and age you HAVE to cover your work. There are too many thieves out there
Yeah really . Don’t want any crooks getting inspiration .
mimitrek wrote:I love the wolf colored griffin chicks on the calendar! Is that what the new color scheme for the griffins is going to look like?
Yeah! Hopefully we can paint them like that.. It is always tricky to work out a pattern that we can do in production. Those are the first test painted chicks in the “wolf” color..
Their beaks are open , I photo-shopped them a little. -
