Beautiful collections of poads, Chloe! You were able to nab one of the treescapes everyone was after. Congratulations on your trades.
Congrats on winning such an adorable Kirin!
Glad to hear your dog is doing so well. I had a Yorkie that was blind from glaucoma during the last 5 years of his life and I was amazed at how well he adapted to the loss of eyesight. The vet told me that dog’s other senses become more acute to compensate for the loss of one sense. And, after seeing him tear around the house narrowly dodging obstacles, I would have to agree.

Kim, Paypal has a new service called “Bill Me Later”, which is an option that’s similar to a credit card. It sends you a monthly statement for purchases, and then you pay once a month. You can setup a Paypal account with debit cards, credit cards, Bill Me Later, or to draw funds from your Paypal balance. Hope that helps.
Limerick is on his way back to the seller. I heard from Paypal this morning that they resolved the case in my favor, and they’ll provide a full refund, as soon as I ship him back to the seller. I’m glad that at least I won’t have to be the one to bring him into USPS for the claim & see his potential demise at USPS hands. :(( It’s been a nightmare so far dealing with USPS. The seller filed the insurance claim, but told me to hang onto the uni. We discussed my purchasing the damaged Limerick from her, after the insurance claim was settled.
So, I get a letter from St. Louis claims supervisor for USPS telling me to bring the package into my local USPS within 30 days or the claim would be denied, but my local office didn’t know what forms they had to fill out. They took my name & phone, & said they’d call back. But, nobody did. So I called again to see if they found out how to process the claim, & again they took my name & # & said somebody’d call back but nobody did. So, I wrote to St. Louis office & copied the seller asking how to proceed. At least now that Limerick’s enroute back to the seller, I won’t have to deal with the USPS again & that’ll be her headache instead of mine.
Kim, they’re beautiful & look as if they were made to be together as a pair!

Drag0n repaired a young uni w/ horn rot for me. She did an awesome job. If you don’t mind you might ask for a partial refund and just have him repaired. I’m sure w/ help a new horn could be found……and maybe if you asked Susie, there might be a spare horn at Windstone. I know supplies are low and they might be out, but there also might be one or two hanging around as well”
There’s a box on the claim form where the person filing it (either buyer or seller) checks who is to get the refund. In my case, she has the refund going to herself, since she agreed to refund my purchase in full.
My Paypal claim should be processed by the end of this week, so I’ll know if I got a refund from them. If not, I won’t be giving up Limerick to USPS to have him destroyed. If I don’t want to spend more having him fixed, I can always put a tiny hat on his head to cover the hold.
Thanks for the advice

The first one I took to the post office and they told me they no longer do the claims in person and they told me how to file it online. All of them were ebay auctions so proof of what I paid was easily proven and that may be why I haven’t had any issues with refunds. I simply described each item and the damage and included pics of the damaged areas and less than two weeks later I received a check for my full claim amount.”
I wonder if that’s the determining factor – whether it was on ebay listing or not. My purchase was here on the classifieds & using Paypal. The one I got the refund without bringing the piece in for inspection was also an ebay auction. The one where I had to bring it in for inspecting, was a Craigslist ad.
I had already brought it in once to my USPS but nobody there knew what forms they had to fill out or what to do with it, so they took my name & phone # & told me they’d get back to me, which of course they’ve not done. Called back twice & same thing. So, I wrote to the St. Louis office that processes claims & asked for an extension on the 30-day window to bring it in. Hopefully by then, I’ll know the status of my Paypal claim refund.
Thanks all for your advice. Much appreciated.
February 2, 2014 at 3:47 pm in reply to: Report Windstone Fakes/Knock offs/Infringment Pls read first #908346I sent John an email on this link and he said that it’s fakes done in Mexico around 20 years ago.
So, Khaziyra’s link was the original ebay listing for the one I just found with the buyer ranting about getting a fake. The original listing showed country of manufacture as Taiwan, so that should’ve been a giveaway.
I found it odd that the purchasor who realized that they bought a fake, now thinks they’re going to recover their money re-selling it as a “smash & break”.
Congratulations, Briteblade!
Pony-up, were any of those claims for more than $100? I sent them digital photos of the damaged GBY & also what it looked like before shipping from the ad picture. I’ve only had 2 claims, & one they had me bring in and the other they just sent me a check.
Etruscan wrote: “People here have experience with claims for broken pieces – and I don’t (knock wood) – but from previous discussions I got the impression that broken pieces are not returned to anybody once they have been submitted to the post office.”
I’ve only had 2 insurance claims before. On one I didn’t have to bring it in for inspection and the other I did. I’m not sure if amount of claim determines whether or not you have to bring it in or not.
The one I didn’t have to bring in was for less than $100. The one over $100, I had to leave at post office. Not sure if they returned it to the seller or not.
I wonder what the post office would want with broken pieces? I wonder if they sell them to salvagers?

This is the funniest fake listing I’ve seen. Selling it as “smash & break”. Not sure if it’s a repaint, but the bottom felt has nothing on it.
Kim said: ‘Did you see my post above that I have one that had broken legs that were glued I would like to sell? I would sell it for half of what non broken ones go for if you are interested as I need money for bills.’
I saw your post about the broken young you have. I might be interested in her, if I end up getting the damaged one from the seller. At this point, I haven’t received any refund from the seller as she promised, she’s not responding to my emails or Paypals emails, so I’m really not sure what’s going on. Paypal says that if she doesn’t respond to them in 10 days, I automatically win the case, but I don’t know if she’s got funds in her Paypal account or what, so I’m still unsure if I’ll be seeing my money back. And, then I have to take the broken guy to the post office for them to complete the damage inspection, & from my understanding, I leave it with them. I guess when the claim is settled, they return it to the seller. At that point, if she’s communicating, I can offer to buy it from her & try to get it repaired.
So, I think I’m quite a ways from knowing if I’ll be buying the damaged young from seller & need to buy a broken young to repair the horn. But, I’ll keep yours in mind & thank you much for the offer.
Gorgeous!!
