O_o What day is it now? I’m very tempted to go for a piece or two, but feel the need to wait until all new shinies have been unveiled… I can’t help but feel supremely impatient…
Oooh, albino python… Burmese are too big for my taste though. I’d rather not have a pet that weighs so much I have to have help to carry it. I’ll stick with Ball pythons. Not that I can get one here… but at least my parents still have my Memnoch at home for me.
Oh. Blah. I totally forgot that there was a bigger sculpt already in that color. I recall thinking he was nice though. So okay… I’d still be up for a coiled male and maybe something else if more was done. And, you know, a super-special, not-too-limited run of purple version VF fledgies 😆
I’d be in for a coiled male… and possibly even a [regular] Mother.
But if more pieces were made, which Violet Flame would be used? The gorgeous heavy-purple from the eBay SK? Or the more mustardy coloration from the fledgies and curls? (or is it all the same, with big pieces being more purple? Because then I’d need a big piece for sure)
DM, I see 3 of yours in the Nursery, so unless you have more… you did just fine. Although, your hatchlings should be put up in the Daycare section instead. 😉
If you need to make updates like that, just enter codes again like your first time. If you enter your scroll name & your egg/hatchling codes, it’ll over-write the last ones you did… so don’t just add a new one thinking it’ll keep the others!
If you want to see if you’re already on the page, there’s a search box below the entry field. That’s how I saw yours, DM. Don’t just do a scan of the current page… when there’s a ton of scrolls, the page only shows so many (it randomizes order so nobody’s favored just because they posted first).
DM, I’m not sure you realize… but you’ve posted the same Guardian dragon 4 times in the last 3 posts. (I only really noticed because you don’t have any of my recent codes in order to say one of mine’s grown up )
Congrats, Peg! That’s great news. It’s so nice having your own place… no icky carpet you can’t replace, no hearing neighbors through a shared wall… oh, how I envy you. 🙂
Make any paint decisions yet?
Hrm… well, it looks big. Hard to tell without something near it for a comparison. But if those paint flecks in the floor are as big as what I’m used to… ginormous is truly an appropriate description. 😯
But the first pic gives a good close-up. Pretty icky though… it looks like he’s missing legs? 😕
Thanks for sharing? 😆
It’s very possible. Whites are my least favorite color, so I only have 3 of the smallest ones… and the only one I have access to is the Curl, which definitely has a yellow-ish tinted jewel. But that’s much newer, so things sometimes change.
Going off the PYO eye/jewel color page…
Looking at my RF Fledgling, I’d say the jewel is Topaz. It’s slightly more orange and less yellow than what’s on the white dragons (Jonquil), in case you happen to have one of those to look at.

The box’s themselves are not in any way special and, I would assume, not on display. With special care you can repack a peice into a different box any way so why take so much care to save up empty box’s which end up being just giant dust collectors and fire hazards?
For me, I suppose it really is just about being able to move the piece securely, or store it. I’m lazy… I’d much rather put it in the box it came in, that it already fits in perfectly, than find a box that’s big enough, get all the stuff needed to protect it inside, and then pack it to my personal satisfaction. Worse yet, multiply that task 100+ times. Ugh. I’ll gladly sacrifice storage space for convenience. Plus it takes up space that I’d end up filling with other normally-useless junk anyway, so why not?
Quote:Does having an original box increase a peice’s value, even if the peice has already been out of the box and on display?
That’s going to vary by collector. For the reason stated above (along with a better chance of getting the piece intact), I am willing to pay more for one with a box than without (assuming I’m comparing two of the same piece w/ the same coloration and condition). I’ve gone as far as to pay for the original box (with preformed innards) without the piece inside to replace missing boxes. Several times. But that being said, if I really want a piece, a missing box will not keep me from going after it if it’s fairly priced.
Quote:I know that collectors of different items have certain criteria that they are looking for in objects that they are considering purchasing but I find that keeping box’s is a little bit quirky even for collectors, or is it just me.
I don’t know if it’s quirky or not, but that’s how I’ve always been. My mother kept all her boxes for her David Winter cottages when she collected them (I would NOT want to pack those w/o the original boxes and hope they’d survive), and I’ve always done the same with breakable collectibles. I also keep all the boxes to my electronics and appliances… so I may be a little weirder than most :). But then, when you normally have to move every 2-4 years, you sometimes jump at any chance to feel in control of at least one part of your move, and feel more secure about important belongings when they’re out of your possession. I suppose if I lived in one place for 20 years, I might not care so much… or I could be the lady with an entire basement full of boxes 😕. I think at this point, the latter is more likely.
OMG I want! Crap, I’m just gonna have to commission you later… I doubt this guy’ll last. Plus I need to talk to you about a friend for the other dragon PYO I have from you 🙂
Yeah, I used to want my scroll a certain way too. For the most part, I’d still prefer to only have 4 of each dragon: 1 adult and 1 frozen hatchling of each gender. I think the only duplicate I’ve kept on purpose was one of my Guardians (I love them & had another name I wanted to use)… maybe my 2nd female Vine, since I was hoping to breed for Alts. Any other duplicate adults on my scroll resulted from getting wings and maturing while I was sleeping . Though if my new red is male, I think I’ll keep him, since its daddy is my first and favorite dragon. I don’t want another girl though. (Is it weird that I prefer my males over my females, even if the sprite is the same? except my Silver, despite reminding me of Haku <3)
Dragon Master wrote:How can you tell a dragons sex from an egg??
You can’t, unless it’s a pink or purple, as they’re female only. But you don’t have to wait until they’re adult to know, so you still have a chance to abandon it for someone else if it’s not what you want. Once the hatchling has moved on to its 2nd stage (wings, in most cases), then the View page shows their gender. 🙂
The problem is when they decide to get wings right before you go to bed… they sometimes grow up before you have a chance to check what they are 😡 Or that could just be me 🙄
