He’s posted on the blog, and he’s adorable!

I’m vegetarian, mostly because I am lazy, but when I have the time to cook or prepare a meal, I cook vegan and rarely get a complaint from the meat eaters in the house. Of course, when it’s vegan cookies, they are eating them with a big glass of milk which they continue to do no matter how I glare at them =P I recently got my meat-eating brother into beet burgers. No meat, just a huge slice of steamed beet in the middle with goddess dressing, tomato and lettuce. YUM. It’s pretty easy for me to stay away from milk, eggs, and butter because I have so many other healthy substitutes to use. I don’t even think we have any butter in the fridge right now, just a giant tub of Earth Balance. However, my vegan longings are defeated by cheese! I like soy cheese just fine when I melt it, it’s tasty in a tuNO casserole, but on everything else….no. My guilty cheese of choice is Tillamok because it has no animal rennet.
All the avocado talk is getting me hungry. I have two avocado seedlings I started, they need bigger pots, and it takes like 10-15 years to produce avocados! Maybe the tree with the thin skin problem is still too young? They also need a special nutrient in their soil like many citrus trees utilize.

in reply to: Albino Kirins? #849478

I have had an all-white kirin sitting on my desk since we first made them; I always wanted to make white ones.

    Could we see him? 😀

    OH yes, pictures please!

in reply to: Albino Kirins? #849474

Pale blue scales and blue eyes sounds amazing!!! I’m not a huge fan of just the pearly white color, like on the white dragons, but I just got a glacier curlie dragon, and the blue makes the white glow, it’s so very lovely. I hope they make an appearance soon, I don’t even see a kirin section in the store area, or would they go under unicorns?

And when new kirins show up, I can toast their appearance by drinking Kirin. Just can’t beat beer with mythical animals on the label…

dragons…yeah, cause even though they are done more often, it’s cause they are more popular, and wonderful, amazing, beautific

ugh this seemed like the appropriate place to rant, so remember to read your ingredient labels because they’ll put nasty sh*t in anything!
I was munching on dry roasted sunflower seeds….hmmm those sound safe for a vegetarian, yes? I was looking at the can to see if there was a recipe idea on it, I usually just use them for brocoli slaw, and I read the ingredients label and proceeded to spit out the seeds and did three shots to burn that crap out of my mouth. Mr. Peanut dry roasted sun flower seeds (part of Kraft foods so I’m going to purge my fridge and blacklist them as revenge) contains gelatin! And even if you aren’t vegetarian, gelatin is nasty, icky mystery crap! Gelatin is the rendered down left over bits of animals, like skin, hooves, joints, and parts that can’t be eaten on their own, and usually its made of various animals though sometimes it’s only cows or pigs. So yeah, I called their comment line heh. WTF is that doing in sunflower seeds?!?!!!

    yep that’s it 🙂

My siblings and I found some pastry buns with durian paste in them a few weeks ago, and were daring each other to eat them all day. It was pretty foul, not too sweat but still tasted like rotten fruit with a stronger stink factor. Between the three of us, we all had different ideas of what it tasted like, so I think it’s not just a cultural thing but one of those tastes and senses that different people experience differently. I also saw a sign, maybe it was a joke, that in Singapore durian fruit is not allowed on public transporation (along with smoking and explosives!)

Simply wonderful, you did an amazing job on this. And it’s so fun to get to see all the young unicorns out there.

And to add to the information on the page, Duneflower’s gems are dark blue.

Wow there is a big difference in the amount of “patina” coloring on the old vs. the new. Your lap dragon is very pretty ^_^ and I SPY A MY LITTLE PONY STICKER! Scootaloo, right?

I’m not sure =/ I don’t know the names of the new ones.

And my copper patina male is very patina heavy, so it’s not specific to the whole earlier batch of them, he’s just a Mr. Fancy pants.

in reply to: Turquoise and Pearly Pink Fledgies #848929

I do like that turquoise color on the orientals, it would make an AMAZING LP color for them since I think simplier patterns look best on their flowing bodies. But it seems like the color would need a little more highlights and contrasts on some of the other sculpts, maybe adding darker blues and silver, that would be so damn pretty.

Wolfen, that’s an awesome visual, makes me like the color more 🙂

    Copper Patina Dragon family

Here’s my copper patina family. The male is the older red-eyed type, which I do like more on some of the dragons. But the teal eyes in that fledgling are just the cutest thing ever! Still looking for some orientals in copper patina to join the family.

in reply to: More Grab Bag Youngs? #848890

Are there any other critters that may be in a grab bag in the future? Maybe baby pegasus? I would like to start collecting pegasus families too, these grab bags are a great gateway!

/drool Grab bag baby pegasi would be adorable, I totally squeak for that! I only have one pegasus, but I am sure he’d like a family.

…though the best grab bag item EVER would be fledgling dragons  they’re kinda like young unicorns…right?

    /squeeee
love that young oriental copper patina baby! That adorable face and pose makes me think of a naughty kitten or puppy who has a toy and is showing it off, but if you try to throw it for him, then he will just run away with it. I just can’t wait for orientals to come back into production!

I suppose there’s an unwritten Windstone code that the majority of forum members follow without even thinking about which leads us to trust each other when we wheel & deal Windstones on the forum so it comes as a bit of a shock when you come across someone who doesn’t seem to uphold the standards that we have become used to here . I think the caring way that Melody & her team deal with us Windstoners is in no small way responsible for the honesty & integrity of the Windstone forum .

I am very sorry to hear about your siutation 🙁 Hopefully some resolution will be reached, and when this happens, definitely leave feedback in the feedback post/section, I think it’s a sticky in the flea market forum. I’ve only done a few transactions here, everything has been wonderful, but I am paranoid and only braved my first forum transaction because my seller had great feedback. Accurate feedback makes for a safer and happier forum market for everyone and should help ensure honesty and good selling/buying manners.
