Both mine arrived safe and sound. I could see them before I had the package open al the way; the inserts were not snug together and I could see a golden chestnut leg and a purple leg…I just about tore the boxes open with my teeth!

I hope more people get their unicorns today, I want to see more!
September 27, 2011 at 7:07 am in reply to: Grab Bag Young Directory (formerly “Musical Unicorns”) #858214I’m so glad you’re going to keep building the database! It’s so much fun to see all the grab bags out there.
Are you going to break-down the fantasy category or lump them all in there? I’m curious, but I could see reasons for organizing them both ways. How to divide made-up magical horseie coats and colors? But even if all 130 new fantasy grab bags aren’t posted, there is still going to be a HUGE group of unicorns just under “Fantasy” Using the other groupings already made would be easy, like fantasy palimino, fantasy chestnut, fantasy buckskins etc to fit in the metallic fantasy ones, then play the crazy ones by ear or make a “Paint-Puke” grouping?Of course, BoneSaw should be in his own group called “Killer Awesome!”
September 27, 2011 at 1:24 am in reply to: Grab Bag Young Directory (formerly “Musical Unicorns”) #858174Of course you have permission to use my pretty pretty ponies for the database!
Star is this beauty’s name! She has crystal jewels and periwinkle eyes. and pink hooves!! /squeeeeThis is Vatu. He was a topaz jewel on this collar under his neck and a blue zircon on his display side. His eyes are (I think!) metallic teal (I can see sparklies in the eyes, that’s metallic then, right?)
More shots of him, the flash and putting him right under a lamp shows how coppery/metallic his skin looks, but the non-flash on the dark background shows a better idea of how his coat looks without catching the light. I’ve taken sooo many pics of these guys, I’m such a proud mommy.

September 26, 2011 at 10:26 pm in reply to: ‘Fantasy’ 9/22/11 Grab Bag Young Unicorn batch discussion/picture thread #858135I won the bloody lottery, or at least that’s how I feel!
One is a pink/copper/reddish solid with a white/pink mane and tail, pink interference on the feet and around the face. His name is Vatu, he has blue eyes and one bright blue jewel and one citrine jewel. He very much satisfies my craving for a red unicorn! Theo nly definition I could find for “Vatu” was a type of currency.
The other is “Star” She has periwinkle eyes and crystal jewels. She is freaking purple! Not black with purple interference, she is purple with shimmers everywhere!!! She has pink hooves and silver hair /faints

Thanks for the information, Pam! I feel better knowing it was intentional, but still not sure how I feel about a young dragon with all those wrinkles!
Glad to know the copper patina adults are a smoother bunch, I’m sooo getting one when I get my birthday funds now!
September 26, 2011 at 8:35 pm in reply to: ‘Fantasy’ 9/22/11 Grab Bag Young Unicorn batch discussion/picture thread #858124I keep checking for the mailman before I realized these guys are being shipped UPS! And I don’t know their schedule at all, but it should be somtime today, but I’m guess-timating since I never got the tracking information =P Sooo excited for them to be here!
drag0n, what are their names? Especially the brown one?
I haven’t seen a pic of these little guys yet, so here is my copper patina young oriental dragon. He seems to have very heavy patina covering and one other thing that is driving me nuts…almost every single scale has a wrinkled texture. I know copper patinas are rescues, but I usually have to search to find imperfections…this guy certainly has “character”. i’d love to see other photos to see if they are all this way; his wrinkly skin is why I haven’t purchased the adult oriental in copper patina to keep him company.
looking at the ebay guy again, yes I think he is sun faded. The haunch of his display leg has the same fading red as the neck area on teh display side does. When I repaired my OW ruby dragon, those areas required the most paint, so maybe they are the worst effected by exposure?
here are some pics of my big guy, sorry about the glare =P
The neck area on his display side looks a little like cheddar…that’s the color I associated with sun damage. But, when I found my sun damaged ruby OW, the neck area, the face, and the belly, and part of the tail were all similarly effected from sun exposure. I think it would be tricky to only have part of the dragon faded; it’s usually the parts that stick out and receive more sun. I’ve noticed SOME shading difference with the OWs because I bought mine sight unseen, when I got him I was paranoid his front paws didn’t look red enough! Looking at other pictures, there is certainly some variations in the depths of red. But again, that neck on Ebay does look like it’s getting there to gold, so in short: I’m not sure!

September 24, 2011 at 9:37 pm in reply to: ‘Fantasy’ 9/22/11 Grab Bag Young Unicorn batch discussion/picture thread #857903Kiya, he looks red, how red is he? I ordered two, if I don’t get a red one, I would love to trade if Mr. Spirit is more red than brown. Maybe a pic with outside light? Don’t be depressed. Unicorn magic contains anti-depressents don’t ya know?
I LOVE that momma dragon print with the two hatchlings! Adorable!
I will spend the time and money to get a definitive answer to this question and how exactly it applies to Windstone pieces. Give me a few days.
I am not trying to be a butt, really and truly. But there won’t be a definitive answer to fair use because it’s decided case by case.
