I saw that auction practically as soon as it went up, and I messaged her about two pieces. She asked really reasonable prices, but I thought the name looked familiar…and so I checked the forum feedback list. That was enough to make me not deal with her, and also I seem to attract ebay fiascos, so it seemed safer to just not touch it with a ten foot pole.
Actually, black gold is suppose to be matte finish. Melody once said she doesn’t like gloss finish on black.
That’s weird because I have two black gold pieces, the fledgling and the coiled male. The coiled male’s black is flat, but I thought the male was not very glossy becuase I bought him second hand and the person let him get all icky and dusty. But my BG fledgling came from the factory and has a shiny finish.
I got mine today, and he’s beautiful. Might even end up being one of my favorite pieces, and he came with the cutest fuzzy! I just need more places to safely store my dragons now…
But I was suprised by his finish; the black areas are not glossy, which is just something I’m used to seeing with my Windstones. I know black gold is glossy, but were the other versions of black dragons less shiny and more of a matte like finish?I like having a mix of pieces. None of my copper patina dragons REALLY match, and I love it. My little fledgling has very little patina, my lap has a bit more, my baby oriental has a medium balanced amount and my male is so patina’d he looks like a different color entirely! I like being surprised and having individualized dragons, though in general, as lovely as the copper color is, I like heavy patina and heavy violet highlights.
The world was against me today. I had yesterday off and hoped the Black peacock OW would come out then, but I had to work the morning shift today. But I should have been home at 2pm. However, I missed my transfer bus because my first bus was stoopid and running almost 20 minutes late. So I was stuck at a bus stop, knowing I wouldn’t get home to almost 3 and worrying about missing out on my shiny pretty dragon, and then I am struck by a genius idea. I called my mom, who is in fact the most wonderful mom in the world, and had her order my dragon for me! /happy dance Hehe, I think she ever remembered to put in the “love fuzzy” message! So thanks to my awesome momma, I have a new pretty dragon inc! It’s also nice to get to use my gift certificates too, those things were burning holes in my pants!

Blargh, how early is “morning”? Like earlier enough I could buy one before I go to work at 8am? Or early-ish in the day?
oh look, Susie is on…
PLEASE some information about these dragons! My butt hurts from sitting here almost all day! /whine
Ack I didn’t realize how poorly phrased my question was. Sorry about that guys, I guess it shows I’ve never played 20 questions before =P
I took yours to mean is it an animal (real or imaginary) rather than a humanoid (like a wizard or mermaid)? Is that about right?
I was a ‘tard and didn’t phrase it as a “yes” or “no” question :p So your reading of it is more useful since my question didn’t conform to the rules.

Is there any news on these guys? The anticipation is killing me…
How about today? Will it be today?
okay, it’s monday, that’s early in the week! So will they be in the store today?
page 1 photo 3 is a male black unicorn
page 1 photo 4 is a black mother unicorn
page 2 photo 1 is a black baby unicorn
page 3 photo 3 is an old green male dragon
page 4 photo 3 is a white wizard, looks like the large one but I know nothing about the wizard sculptsThe easiest way to identify what you have and thus figure out what they are worth and if international shipping is feasible would be to post pictures of the pieces and let collectors identify them. It can be very hard to describe a specific statue and then its specific color accurately. Pictures make it much easier.
I haven’t given up on barn swallow yet!
