Just my 2 cents….all of these pieces come up on ebay. Some not often, but I have filled out my collection through ebay.
All of us can keep a look out and eventually purchase what we want through that venue. Though initially all of us were excieted about an antique store find. I Pm’d her myself….but….
Now that the whole story has come about…we can argue and fight and be nasty….but it doesn’t change the facts.
The new owner of this collection must follow her heart and decide what she wants to do.
Personally, I will just keep looking and waiting for the last piece that I want…and if I have to wait months or years, so be it. I wouldn’t ever want to hurt someone or be callous or ugly about getting a piece. I don’t feel unhappy or guilty about any of the pieces that I have collected in the last 20 years.
We should all just try to respect each other. If Aetheria decides to sell some pieces, then she will. I for one will not pester her. I am happy this fantastic collection ended up with her and I think that the previous owner would be very pleased.
Congratulations and I wish every one well and I also hope everyone finds what they are searching for 🙂
We all need to take a collective deep breath and step back…and not be offended about other’s comments…….RELAX!
I think all of us are thinking right now about how we would feel if our families had been so callous and the shop owner was so defensive.
I will again repeat what I said before….no matter what you believe in…karma…fate…God…the universe….
Something brought you to this lady’s collection. I am sure that she is watching all of this and rejoicing that someone who loves Windstones found her collection!
Please do not let this bring you down! You should feel happy, not sad! She obviously wanted someone to appreciate her things and if her family won’t do it, then we all can. Her things will be cherished and loved and she will be remembered!
Even though her family might not have cared about her stuff….we all do. That is what is important! Take your time…take pictures….take a deep breath…
When you are ready…sort things out anddecide what you can and can not keep. I am sure this will help you with your education. I am certain in my heart that this woman’s collection came to you for a reason. You will care for them and rehome the ones you can’t keep to caring memberes of the Windstone community.
Good luck! Hope things sort themselves out.
Hugs, Kaya
I am listening right now and it was great. I missed the live version because of Mardi Gras!
When will the next radio show be on?…because I have some questions now for the next time 🙂
Thanks! Great Idea! I will be listening to the next one!!!!
siberakh1 wrote:Did Uno win the Hound group? Mom fell asleep *grrrr* I know he won best of breed, but Best in Show isn’t until tomorrow night.
Tonight is Hound, terrier, Non-Sporting and Herding with Working, Toy, Sporting, and Best in Show tomorrow. Best in show is presented between 10:30-11pm tomorrow night. The order is a bit different this year. First night used to be Working, Terrier, Toy, Non-Sporting with Sporting, Hound, and Herding used to be on the last night, herding group being the last group before Best in Show (at least for the last 10 years). Maybe they had to switch some around with all the new additions in the last few years (four newly excepted breeds this year – Plott Hound, Beauceron, Swedish Vallhund, and Tibetan Mastiff)?
I’ll have to watch all this tomorrow on Animal Planet in the morning (or whatever station will be replaying this… USA doesn’t seem to be doing this anymore like they used to?). I love watching the dog shows! I have my favorites and you know when a dog is spot on (the German wire-haired pointer from a few years ago just knew was perfect when he was shown at best in show!) 🙂
Is it sad that I actually remember the names of Best in Show/group winners from the last 10 years or show of watching? 🙁
I googled it and it looks like the broadcast wasn’t live….and Uno the beagle actually won the best in show!
USA will air the whole show tomorrow morning…I was horrified that WWE pre-empted the show…..ugh…migit wrestlers???? I want my dog show!!!!
Guess I will record it tomorrow….and watch tomorrow night!
The important thing for all of us to remember, is that this person’s things were found and they weren’t just discarded. That one of us actually spent the money and time to gather this poor soul’s belongings and bring them home.
I am sure she would be thrilled that we are all thinking about her and that the pieces she lovingly collected will be taken care of. Also that her passing has helped the life of another collector.
Her pieces will live on as a legacy and she will be remembered. Even if we never find out who she was….she will be remembered. That is the beautiful thing about this forum.
We CARE about each other! So no matter what we find out….at least her treasured possessions will end up being cared for, by people with the same love.
I bought some pieces from ebay that had dates of purchase in sharpie ink on the felt pads. So some people do write on the felt.
I started collecting before hang tags, so personally, I always remove the tags. Every collector has their own thing 🙂
Again…I have to believe that this lady has got to be so happy that you found her Windstones 🙂 It certainly was meant to be.
Megani ….hhehehehe, yeah me and my hubby have that conversation. Except, if he dies first, I will send his unfinished cars out to get professionally restored, and then I will drive them 🙂 He has some really cool stuff in the garage 🙂
Did you see this section? I don’t want to be heretical…but OMFG!!!!! Moses with the ocean parting action?
For you dog lovers out there. I heard on the radio that Uno the Beagle already won…but I just love watching all these gorgeous dogs.
I also always tear up over the Pedigree commercials….the poor dogs that get passed up for adoption! Hate the dog food, because I feed Royal Canin and Nutro Ultra…but the commercials are heart wrenching…..
I know how you feel. I got a damaged item and the seller accused ME of damaging the hatching dragon, that was mailed in a padded mailer envelope! I sent the item back UPS, double boxed. She accused me of mail fraud!
I only got 1/2 my money back, but I did leave her negative feedback…fortunately she had already left me positive and she proceeded to relist and sell the damaged dragon.
There are some nuttos on ebay for sure!!!! UGH! Just take a deep breath…you can apply to ebay to mutually withdraw feedback and you can open a complaint!
pipsxlch wrote:I have owned and known plenty of orange females. They are less common than red males, but I wouldn’t exactly call them rare. It’s all in where the genes coding for those colors (black or red) are on the chromosomes- they’re on the sex chromosomes, on one of the arms that the X has but that has been lost on the Y. So males only have 1 copy of the gene (and express it totally), while females have 2- and if they should have the genes for both black and red, voila- a tortoiseshell (or calico). That’s where the decidedly rare male tortoishell/calicos come from also- they have an extra X chromosome, or a segment of one. They are always sterile from what I’ve heard- makes sense with the trisomy.
SO for a female to be red, she has to have a red daddy and a red or tortoise/calico mom. A red male just needs a red or tortoise/calico mom.
(keep in mind that cream is dilute red and counts as red for this argument, and blue is dilute black)
Perfect answer. Example: My rescued female siamese had a weird patched tabby points.
She was siamese with blue eyes, but with weird patched tabby ears, feet, etc.
The feral tom that bred her before I rescued her was orange tabby with long hair. All the kittens were female. one short haired orange female,
one long haired orange female, one patched tabby and one tortie. For those who don’t know, a Patched Tabby is a Calico patterned cat with patches of black/blue, red/cream and white that are tabby striped. They are almost always females and
males are sterile…same genetic set up as a calico or a tortie.Momma (adopted out) and Orange kitten
Chewy and Orange sister (adopted out)
Patched tabby
If they knew how special they were, I would have thought they would have ebayed them, if they didn’t want them.
It is so good that you got them. Maybe she is looking out for another Windstone lover, who could use the financial help. You will certainly be able to sell (even the broken ones) and hopefully it will help you with college. Maybe she is taking care of you, because you are gonna take care of her stuff.
Thinking about it that way should help you for feeling sad for her. Hopefully she is in heaven smiling and watching you enjoying her Windstones.
On a lighter note: My husband certainly wouldn’t keep my Windstones if I passed away. He would be selling them on ebay like a mad man….then he would go buy himself another collectible car…hehehe. He already told me he would 🙂

Your Spanish is quite right, surely better than my English, frozen since I was to school!!! Your pieces of information have been very useful for me, I have seen the T-rex and velociraptor at last, the bad guys of the serie. The second one was in Ebay two weeks ago, Zelda, but the seller shipped “to the US continental only”, so I didn’t have any chance.. Lovely the Baby Stegosaurus, I am going to bid.. Bye and happy dreams for all of you!!!!(Here is luch time)
Here is a picture of them all together…

We’re going to go through a few more boxes after we eat. I’ll keep you guys posted. There’s still that other extra box I’ve yet to peek into.
Just in case you don’t get the PM, please let me know about the White Hatching Empress. I know we are all such pests…we are just all drooling over your find!!!!!
It is so exciting! Great that someone who will love them, found them!
siberakh1 wrote:Well, looks like you found a way to pay for part of college 😆
Oh man! Keschete is only missing a white hatching empress (she has every other hatching royalty except that one)!
This is exciting, especially since people are starting to get their tax returns! 😀
Thank You for bringing that up!!!!
I do need one…so, I know you are drowning in PM’s, but if you are interested in selling….I would love to give her a home 🙂
I am April 26th 🙂 Tarus and hard headed! Year of the dog!
How appropriate!
