Kyrin,
Thanks for the offer. I do have the original mother I bought back in the 80’s. She was “injured” a number of years back; my heart still skips a beat when I think about it. I have wanted to replace her all these years but there were always other priorities.
A few months back Melody suggested I contact you about the possibility of repairing her. I did send you a few emails, but that was when your dad first took ill. As I know you were already backlogged, I thought I should just keep trying to replace her. Realistically, even had I been online there is no guarantee I would have won her, but just knowing she sold for so little is painful!
The best thing for me to do is get on your waitlist. If I can get her fixed, so much the better. She has been with me a long time. I have the mother, the male, the youth (who I just noticed has a chuck out of his wing!) and the hatchling. They are all the original brown from the 80’s. There are so many new dragons in the old brown that I need to start saving my pennies so maybe I can get them sometime in the future.
I keep asking myself why I couldn’t have fallen in love with a wealthy guy. It would have made life so much easier.

I can’t believe it! There was a brown mother on ebay I was watching and I wasn’t feeling good this morning. I was afraid to use the proxy bidding as I would get outbid. I planned on being online at the end. I wasn’t there and she went for $41.62. There was finally one I could afford and I blwe my chance. You know the odds of another one coming around at that price aren’t likely. I am sooo pissed off at myself. I can’t wait to have the surgery Tuesday and get this over with. If I hadn’t been miserable, I’d have remembered and I bet I could of gotten her. Not only would she have been my first dragon purchase in years, but it would have been the replacement for my original mother! I can’t put into words how upset I am, My hands are shaking! Okay, enough of a tantrum. It isn’t going to change things. Maybe it just really isn’t meant for me to adding to what I have. I would apologize for the rant, but if I am honest with myself, I knew that was what would happen if I started typing. Thanks for listening.
Beth 🙄
Thanks so much for the info!

I found out just in time. As this is my only chance of getting an OW, I have to give it a try. I will post via PayPal in a few minutes.
I don’t know if I just missed it, but I don’t recall seeing who is benefiting from the proceeds of this raffle. I can help justify spending the money to my husband if I can tell him we can use it as a tax deduction. Will we be receiving anything from the organization acknowledging the donation?
Thanks!
BethWhere do you all get your avatars? They are really really nice!

I noticed that…Perhaps since she donated a piece to the raffle in the community thread, there may not be one… 😕
For those of us newbies, what community thread and what raffle there are you referring to?

I’d have been happy to have been able to get any of the new browns! Signed with COA would be a bonus, bust just having them would be enough for me. Unfortunately, it’s not meant to be!

I went to look at the scrathching dragon in brown. The browns were the original set I got and would love to add more to them, but why is he the most expensive of scratching?
Beth 😕
Wow! I was checking out the different topics when I came across this one. I am so glad that I am not the only one wishing to find a way to get unlimited wealth! Oh, the shopping spree I would go on.
I only own a handfull of pieces. The first 4 I got back in the 80’s . Then I got married and financial priorities changed. Of course, there was buying a house, making ends meet and then kids. I wonder why I couldn’t have fallen in love with someone rich instead of poor!
My kids are now 14 and 12 and althought they cost us a fortune, I had managed to put some money aside and was able to add a couple of smaller pieces. Of course, things being as they are, I then got laid off and have had no luck finding something. I have put aside a little bit in case I see something I really like that isn’t too pricey. Yeah, I know that isn’t likely, but I can dream.

I really need to win the Lotto so I can afford to actually bid on any of the pieces listed on ebay. For that matter, even some of the pieces that you have in stock!
Yes, I am very jealous 😥 of those of you who not only can bid, but are winning!

Kyrin,
I am still relatively new around here. Melody had given me your email address earlier this year and I had sent you an email. I know things have been really hectic in your life lately. BTW, I haven’t seen you post how things are going with you Dad. I just want to make sure that I am on your list of people waiting for the chance to get a repair. She has been messed up for quite a number of years, so there is no rush, but I would love to see her looking like her old self.
Thanks,
BethKyrin,
I had sent you a direct email after getting your information from Melody. I have a female dragon in the original brown that had a little accident, thankfully the dragon took more damage than my son who pulled it down on himself! I would very much like to see it repaired, if possible. If you need to see a picture of her, along with the damage, I can send one to you.
Thanks,
Beth -
