I just got home from 4 weeks overseas yesterday, and mine was waiting for me (along with young poads!). What a lovely welcome home!

Thank you such for the quick response. I have no idea when he was originally purchased. I was most interested in confirmation that Melody did actually sign it. If we can find out the sale date. I would love a copy. Thanks again

I take that back, Pam says we didn’t keep copies of the regular coas for non-ebay pieces.. I don’t know if it had a drawing, or just a signature on it. I just don’t remember!
We haven’t run across any forged signatures yet!

I have run across a forged signature. It was that crudely repainted trio of dragons on eBay a while back – the seller was originally asking $400 and claiming it was signed. After it didn’t sell and she was told it wasn’t done by Melody, she relisted for a much lower price. I went ahead and bought it because I liked the colors, and when I got it, it still had the forged signature. I blacked it out with permanent marker.

I wasn’t even aware the hatching Pegi had any pewter on it! I do hope to get one of those cuties some day.

              The wings are painted pewter.

You can learn this by having your cat knock yours off the mantel. The wing pops out and does not shatter like the rest of it….

I have a lot of experience in modelling, from my days playing miniature war games. I’m interested in attempting repairs on Windstones, but I don’t have any broken Windstones! If anyone has anything they would like repaired, I’m sure we could work something out.

                Hello Kohl,

I have several items with minor damage. I want two repaired, and I’d sell the others. I’ll send you the details in a PM.

Very scary wind storm! Some people still without power, and the season’s first snow on the ground. We fortunately did not lose power, but we did lose our internet (yes, pathetic whine. Cue world’s smallest violin :p). Didn’t get it back until yesterday. Now it looks like our forum friends to the east are about to get hit. I hope none of you lose power!

I have a question out of curiosity. When I was in high school (many moons ago), an idiot classmate claimed that he had a one-eighth wolf hybrid. If I do my math right, that is 12.5%. At that level, are there likely to be any noticeable wolf traits? I never saw the animal.

I say he was an idiot because of what else he said about the dog: He was training it to be a guard dog by beating it. When I objected, he assured me that was the only way one could get a good guard dog. I wish I hadn’t been so timid back then and had reported him to the city animal control.

Hahahaha. I was bidding last minute on the Amber Glow Warrior going “Well, I SHOULDN’T spend the money this close to christmas, Annnnnnd he’s too big to display….BUT HE’S SO PRETTY!” When I didn’t hit high bidder status with my bid I was going “Well….maaaaaaaaaybe I can put another twenty five on him…even though I shouldn’t….” And he promptly jumped several hundred dollars over my high bid. Lol. I’m glad he went for a good price. He’s a real stunner. At least I don’t need to worry about where I’m going to keep him 😉

I was one of those last second bidders, but I fell short too. *sigh* Such a gorgeous dragon. I really hope I manage to get one of Laurie’s checkered-type test paints.

Pssst. Hey, Laurie! How about an Amber Glow emperor dragon? 😉

Bwah ha ha! Mine all mine!
I think doing an Amber Glow emperor is a GREAT idea. I don’t like the emperor sculpt, so I wouldn’t be tempted to bid yet another ridiculous amount on it!

Thanks guys! 😀 It’s a five speed, seems pretty simple though I’m sure I’ll mess up a few times before I get it. My dad was showing me on the test drive and it really doesn’t seem difficult at all. 😀 Apparently when my one brother heard last night he said “She’s not going to learn to drive stick!” WELL, that’s just a cry of WAR! It’s going to be painful waiting until Sunday to learn. I really can’t wait to get in the driver’s seat! 😀

Hahaha! When I learned to drive oh so many years ago, my parents had a stick-shift VW camper with transmission problems. It was quite up in years, and very persnickity. It wouldn’t go into first gear unless you were at a dead stop, and half the time, it wouldn’t go into second gear. It usually took several tries to get it into second. I think I was still on my learner’s permit the time I had to go up a long uphill highway off-ramp from a stop…. I was at the back of a line of cars waiting from the light to change. As I got close to the top of the ramp, I tried to avoid shifting into second, but the engine was just SCREAMING. So I tried to shift… several times… slowing down significantly while it was out of gear… then I was in the middle of the intersection, without enough momentum to get through, when the light started to change. I slammed on the brakes to get it back into first and get out of the intersection.

I thought my mom was going to have a heart attack.

I personally like natural and safari colors over fantasy colors in all sculpts except poads. With poads I can go either way. Though if the next GB is going to be young unis, my opinion shouldn’t count – I don’t like that sculpt.
Now a large flap-cat GB would be awesome, but I suppose they are too big to be a reasonably-priced GB. I luvs me the flap-cats 🙂

So, I’ve looked at the class photos. Numerous times. And my eyes keep coming back to this guy. He has chosen himself to be my #1. There are only a few that I probably would trade away if I got them, but I would trade any of them for this guy. Here’s hoping! Can’t wait for these guys to start showing up!

Ah heck! You want my very favoritest! And so does someone else further down the thread! Now how am I going to get it? I’ll probably get the only one in the batch that nobody likes 🙁

                                  Melody,

I have an idea for Windstone to make more money to pay for things like that monitor and camera you just needed. Sell commissions in color schemes that have already been done, e.g. for ebay pieces, but on different sculpts. Charge high $$$ for these. Some of the ebay auction final prices show there are people willing to pay that for a special piece. First commission: the Hades mother pegasus I keep squeaking for.

Thanks for all you do :).
