Poor Scratcher! Good thing he found you. You do an amazing job, please post pics when he’s done
Wow! That is way over for shipping!! I get windstone pieces sent to me up here in the great white north and shipping RARLEY tops $25!!
I wish you luck Adara
The wire work looks wonderful! I’m a labradorite nut too.
I’ve done some jewerly making, a couple of courses and some stuff on my own but don’t do alot cause really I have no space to set up a propper shop and dad gets mad when i use his work shop cause there are bound to be bits everywhere. I’ve worked with silver, brass and copper and even learned how to set gems. You’re a brave person for dealing with opals, they are probably the worst to set. Copper is by far the softest metal to work with even though it tarnishes really fast. there are some laquers that you can put on it to stop that but i’ve never tried. Silver is next (though expensive) the wire is easiest but the sheet you have to aneal (heat up) to work with. Brass relitively cheap but is a pain in the @$$, you have to repeatedly aneal it to work with it.
look forward to seeing more of your work!
She’s beautiful Whippet! So life like! Congrats!
soo pretty!!! amazing job!
I have every dragon in peacock, except the Secret Keeper and New Curlie, but since they’ve retired that color (why oh why?!?!?!) I guess that means the peacock collectiion is complete. I have other pieces in other colors but I think the peacock is my favorite, blues and purples being my favorite colors. Eventually I’ll get some pictures to post (adds that to the enormous to do list 😕 ) I currently working on thiefing :ahem: borrowing my dads fancy camera but that will have to wait till my parents come back from vacation.
Winged Fox!!!! Winged Fox!!!! In any pose! Maybe a whole family? Foxes are monogamous you know… *Makes teary puppy eyes*
Ravens would be cool, so would the hippocampus or maybe a female and cubs Flion?
How about a Roc? Big Eagle/Raven bird. Thats kind of Mythology/fantasy
I have mostly IKEA furniture. Have had since I was a kid and have had no problems. I just find that the lighter woods ‘age’ or darken a bit over time. they are also simple, strong and relitively cheap 😀 All my Windstones are on them. Also, most of their bookshelves, cabinets and tall dressers all come with either brackets or straps that you are supposed to attach to the wall to keep kids from pulling them over. I never do, but I don’t have kids or pets!
Okay, I think this question would go here. I’m still figuring things out. After reading the thread asking for references on online windstone dealers, Is there an actual listing in the forum (or elsewhere and aside from the dealers page on the main site) that lists the online soures that people here have bought from with the references (shipping, prices, costomer service etc)? If there is, could someone point me in the right direction? and if not would there be a way of collecting all that info and posting it somewhere? I know that right now I rely more on the online stores and sources to get my pretties and it would be nice for a list and refernces posted to help me (us all) out.
Thanks for listening to a confused newbie 😳
Welcome! Welcome!
I second Phoenix’s sentiment and if you hang out here long enough that collection will grow…. and thy wallet will shrink 😉 but its worth it right? 😀
WOW!! incredible collection GFiend! I think I’d be afraid to move at your place!!! 😯
No we just get deep freezes and snow that turn into slushville when Chinooks rolls in!
I’ve got my windstones on Ikea Billy Bookshelves. They’re pretty strong (I think something like 25lbs each shelf) and I’ve never had a problem. Of course I don’t have cats, if I did I think that earthquake putty would be a sound investment. I’m a little nervous about glass, maybe cause it looks sooo delicate and I definately prefer wood shelving for all my lovelies. Unfinished furniture or having it built and then staining is probably (I think) the only way to truly get the color you want even though it’s labour intensive.
hi drag0n, how much would she want for that one that you described as “huge and heavy and over a foot tall”?

Welcome!
I live in canada and it usually takes 10-14 days for stuff to get to me from the factory. I can’t imagine it taking longer if it doesn’t have to cross the border.
