I think my favourite game series will forever be Monkey Island. 🙂

Recently though, I did splash out on a Nintendo DSi in order to catch up on the newest Pokemon releases. I got Pokemon Yellow when it was first released and loved it as a kid. Re-played it again recently and remembered why I was hooked the first time.

I like zombie shoot-ups, especially the big arcade ones. I have an arcade close to where I live and they normally get the up-to-date machines in. (I also love pinball.. not really in the video games category though).

Was also quite a big Final Fantasy fan but stopped at X for no particular reason.

Drakan looks really fun, I might have to go buy it. 🙂

I was short on funds when they were in the store the first time but I’m in a better position to buy one now. 🙂 So happy I got one!

I belong to another forum where people essentially end up competing against eachother for the same one-of-a-kind pieces of art on auction sites. Even though there have been some outbursts from people who were angry that someone else on the forum outbid them, that kind of behaviour is generally frowned upon and people either ignore it or just remind the original poster that auctions are fair game. Also, claiming a piece that is on auction with the intention to win it is also kind of frowned upon as it often alienates other potential bidders on the forum.

One example I can think of is someone who marked their territory on a certain item and people on the forum gave that user words of support, hoping they’d win etc. When that person lost to another forum member, they just assumed that the forum member outbid them out of spite and had a bit of a rant about it. I was that other forum member and I spoke up about it. To be honest I felt alienated that not many people were on my side and instead of congratulating me for winning, most of the other forum members consoled the “loser”.

I guess what I’m trying to say is that you can enjoy a hobby without competitive/hurtful words being thrown about on the associated forum. I only like to be competitive when I buy something on auction but I don’t like to gloat about it publicly when I win or lose something. I like to think that a community forum is a place where we can all find even ground and be civil to eachother. 🙂

Don’t know if I helped or hindered things but since I changed my forum name I deleted my store account of the same name and created a new store account based on my new forum name. Email addresses should match up. ^_^

I regularly donate to a charity called The Brooke and I follow them on Facebook. Today I saw a post on their wall by another FB member and it made me quite sad.

“Live in Ohio or nearby and want a free horse? Attn: Dr. Stearns, DVM from Barnesville, OH passed away and his son wants everything liquidated immediately, leftover horses go to slaughter this Sat. Not even sure if it’s real but if someone lives nearby, perhaps they could check it out? 🙁

                    Title: Bubblegum Crisis (OVA)

Synopsis: In a dystopian, futuristic (even cyberpunk) Tokyo in the year 2032, a corporation by the name of Genom has a firm grasp over worldwide assets, both mechanical and political. Their newest and perhaps most (in)famous creations are artificial humans, otherwise known as “Boomers”. The Boomers are by no means flawless and when they go out of control, the local police can barely handle them. Enter four vigilante women known as the Knight Sabers who aim to restore order into the city and also get to the root of Genom’s nefarious plans.

                    Star Rating:

Review: This was one of the first anime series I got into and is also my favourite so I’m a little biased (but that’s what personal reviews are, right? :D). The characters are individual and I enjoyed learning more about them. The way the events unfold surrounding Genom’s plotting and domination kept me hooked all the way through. So as well as the obvious fighting action, you get to learn alot about the main characters as the series unfolds.
One negative that I have heard from people is that the episodes seem a little segmented and unrelated to eachother. This view may stem from the fact that there’s not really a single story as such that carries through all 8 episodes; more of a broad view of life in Tokyo 2032 under Genom’s power which incorporates many other sub-stories. Ultimately, I think it does a great job to immerse you into this futuristic world. It’s very Blade Runner-esque though, so if that didn’t appeal to you then this may not. Also, the music is my favourite out of any anime. Very 80s-ish due to when it was made.

Warnings and Praises: There is some very minor swearing in places and some of the battle scenes have a little blood but there’s nothing overtly violent about this anime as the main focus is the story. A few nude bodies that I can recall but again, nothing sexual or too graphic. I first watched this when I was about 13 and wasn’t shocked about anything.

P.S. The main thing I collect aren’t Windstones but anime cels, especially Bubblegum Crisis. 🙂

I made this Yule Log inspired piece using dried tree bark, mistletoe and some holly and ivy from the garden. 🙂

Here are our two trees, the first is Eeyore and Tinkerbell themed and the second is purple themed with Tinkerbell sitting on top. The second tree is supposed to be a dark aubergine colour, it tones in well with the purple and silver.

                        Happy holidays everyone!

A massive weight is off my shoulders right now, Coco’s bladder is perfect and his other organs are holding up really well too, so today is a great day and I can get on with celebrating the day. 🙂

The vet still isn’t too sure why the cystitis is recurring quite so regularly but instead of an antibiotic injection, we’re trying tablets for 2-3 weeks. I think his immune system is probably just exacerbating the infection each time because he has feline Lupus. We’ll see how it goes but at least everything’s as normal as it can be. 🙂

Thanks too for your kind words earlier, Machineguts.

I’ve just taken Coco to the vet for his ultrasound but the vet can’t do it right away so she’s keeping him in for the day until she has a free half hour. I’m kinda sad at leaving him there for up to 5 hours because he doesn’t cope well with change and people he doesn’t know. I hope she can see to him quickly, I’ll be standing by the phone the whole day I think.

Thanks for your kind words, Adaneth. Coco’s having his ultrasound on tuesday, I hope the vet can find a solution to his bladder problems.

Thank you too, Jasmine. I agree with you, I’m well rid of my ex. After all the pain subsides, you realise just how lucky you are to have gotten a relatively easy escape from someone who has the capability to be so cruel. Yesterday confirmed alot of things for me. Coco deserves all my attention now, I’m determined to get him through this. He’s not ready to leave this realm just yet.

I just wanted to say a late thank you to everyone.

I haven’t visited the forum much since May when my world as I knew it collapsed. My boyfriend left me unexpectedly. He told me there was no other woman but he got together with someone else a week or two after dumping me, so my gut feeling told me he dumped me to be with her. To make things worse, he told me he never felt anything for me and the whole relationship was just a lie that he’d somehow got too carried away with. He treated me like a girlfriend so I didn’t suspect a thing. I’d known him for just under 2 years, first starting out as good friends. We spent the last 5 months of that in a relationship together and I was really happy, thinking things were progressing nicely. I totally didn’t see it coming, it hit me like a ten tonne truck.

Yesterday my ex got really mad that I talked about my side of the relationship with friends. He denies any relationship ever existed and just spouted out loads of angry, venomous, hurtful words at me. Everything he said was just pure hatred. He chose a really bad time because I had just come back from the vet after taking my 18.5 year old cat Coco there as an emergency. My fur baby has been having bad bladder infections these past few months and antibiotics only seems to be a temporary cure so the vet wants to run an ultrasound to see if there’s anything irregular. If there’s something there, he’ll need an operation. Part of me wants it to be as simple as an operation so he can live a bit longer with no more pain (he’s been to the vet about 3 times this month already and the last 6 months have just consisted of trips to the vet for antibiotics). But I’m also obviously scared about the possibility of an operation due to his age. He loves life so much still and if it wasn’t for the bladder infections, he’d be virtually pain free. I just hope something can be done to prolong his life, ultimately. I know the heartbreak of losing Coco will be a thousand times greater than that of my ex and I hope we can have a little more time together yet. He’s my soul mate in cat form if that makes any sense, as I know lots of you have fur babies of your own. He has one of the purest souls of any creature, way too pure for any human being. He’s not happy being constantly pushed and pulled around to the vet so I just hope there’s something that can be done.

I took this picture a couple of years ago, it’s one of my favourites. He’s a very affectionate cat and loves hugs. ^_^

This one is more recent, it was taken a couple of weeks ago when we washed his catnip toys and he was mesmerized by the smell coming from the washing machine. 😀
