3mm? Great! There are tons of colors of crystals on a site that was posted in another thread here. Just need to pick a color!

Gryphon that bad hun? lol I love how they look and would love to do one someday. I thought the dragon would be the hardest. Hopefully I will not totally ruin my Muse and will try one of each eventually!

Darn it, I thought of one more question *shakes head* Is there a brush on clear coat for when you are done with your PYO? Something with just a little gloss?

I just got my new baby unicorn in the mail today πŸ™‚ He’s adorable!

I thought a Kirin would be easy, but I guess not! I think I will go with the muse πŸ™‚ They do have the cutest look on their little faces. I’ve found a place to buy the crystals for the muse, anyone know how many she takes and the size?

Thanks again πŸ™‚ I think I might try the Golden Acrylic Retarder since I have no idea what I’m doing and the extra time should hopefully help.

Thanks for your help, I appreciate it! πŸ™‚

    Now to choose my PYO!

Thanks very much! I looked up several of the ones in the “brands” thread above and that set seemed to look pretty good, I like the idea of the interferience paints.

I’m wondering also about the Acrylic Retarder and the Acrylic Mixing Medium listed in the PYO tutorial. Do I need both? And do both get mixed with the paint at the same time? I’d hate to get started and realize I am missing something 😳

Hi! I found this board a few days ago and have been drooling over the beautiful PYOs everyone has been doing! I was just a fan of Windstone and looking to add a piece to my collection-and I stumbled over here somehow-I never knew about PYOs! They all look amazing and I’m afraid I can’t get them off my mind, I want to try one! I’ve been lurking for the last few days, admiring the gallery and the PYO swap thread, trying to gather all the info needed to start my own project! I have to admit the more I read, the more confused I’ve gotten-haha-SO many brands and techniques…I was wondering if anyone would be willing to take a look at what I’ve found and tell me if I’m headed in the right direction? I’ve spent hours trying to track down a set of paints to use and I think that this one might actually work. I’ve read through the brands thread here, and also read the Windstone Tutorial πŸ™‚ I’m kind of confused about the Retarder and the Mixing Medium. Do they both get mixed with paint at the same time? *confused*
I’m sorry for all the questions, especially for my second day! I guess after a few days of lurking I already feel comfortable here πŸ™‚

I was eyeing the “Professional Fluid Acrylic Set of 16 Colors” Shown below-it has some of the interferience colors I read about, is this a good choice for a PYO?

    Thanks for your help!

Thanks againg for the welcomes everyone! And what great timing-my new baby unicorn came in the mail today with my HP7 book-lol He is the most beautiful little unicorn, I’ve never had a brand new WS before, my other were given to me from my moms collection. No sooner did I set him on the shelf when I decided he looked awfully lonesome and needed a mom. 😳 I’ll have to save up for her next!

Poads ARE just about the cutest thing aren’t they? I really hate having to be responsiable and pay bills, I’d rather go and get another piece-darn! πŸ˜› I saw all the little poads with their pizza, I want them all!

Thanks! I guess I can post my pics now that I have 5 posts!

Oh yeah, I’ve read through that and the tutorial and the brands list about 3 times each in the last couple days! lol I *think* I have a paint set picked out, I was going to do another thread to see if what I tracked down was the right thing πŸ™‚

    Hehe, thanks guys!

I have a lot of questions about the PYOs, I hope I don’t drive you guys crazy! 😳

I should consider the wolf and unicorn too, I like them all! Too bad I have no idea how to paint-lol, but I am going to try and figure out how πŸ˜‰ So far I have the White Mother Dragon, the Gargoyle egg with eyes, and two of the smaller flap cats. I have the black one with the dragon wings, and the siamese with the Griffin wings. I would love to find the other two so I could have both sets!

I also have a baby unicorn comming in the mail, I don’t have a large budget so I am trying to get the smaller ones first πŸ™‚ I saw a poad on the WS site the other day, never seen one before and it’s just the cutest thing-I really want one!

Thanks! Those Griffins do look stunning don’t they? I was thinking of trying a Kirin-not sure why but for some reason I think they might be easier to paint(could be totally wrong!) I think it’s a great way to build up our collections-wonderful idea to have PYOs!

Thanks again for the welcome! πŸ™‚

Hi guys, I found this forum a few days ago and haven’t been able to stay away-so I thought I’d better start posting! Right now I only have 4 pieces in my collection, and I ended up here somehow while looking for another πŸ˜› I had no idea that PYOs existed, and I’ve been drooling over the gallery here for the last few days! I can’t wait to try one of my own. πŸ™‚
