Didn’t someone post a picture of a huge spider that was as big as a garbage can lid? I can’t remember anything else about it except that I was so impressed by the sheer size of that monster spider. I think it may have been from someone in Texas but I’m not even sure about that. Whew! That was one BIG spider!!! 😮 😮

    in reply to: Purple #753156

I love the idea of the purple shades in a dragon, but it is mostly a “cool” color and I think it looks better with other “cool” colors, like blues and greens and aquas and silver. The yellow in that stone doesn’t do anything for the purples, IMO, partly because it is a “warm” color (maybe I just don’t like the shade) but it would probably go with the other “warm” colors like orange, reds, lemon yellow, etc. The rainbows have them all mixed up but that’s the whole theme, not just one color. I like the idea of lavender eyes in a darker lavender if that’s possible or violet eyes. That would be awesome!!

The problem is, the store is “out of stock” on those puffins. They have some more of the tiger cats, but no more of the puffins. I have no idea if the store will restock those or not, I hope so. But if they don’t, ebay is the only way to get them if someone wants one really badly, and I guess they do!

in reply to: Bumper Sticker Ideas (was griffins on stuff) #561764

How about a bumper sticker that says “Dragons always come when you call, but be careful what you call them” and pictures of a couple of the males, one on each side? Or the emperors? (I don’t like the mean sayings, I’ve always thought of “our” dragons as polite wellmannered dignified dragons who can’t be bothered being mean, they already know they have all the power, they don’t need to be mean about it, maybe mildly annoyed!) Anyway, I like that one.

Thank you so much for the condolences! They really do help! Everytime I walk by where the pot used to be I get sad and then angry and then sad again. 😥 😡 :shout: 😥 I will have to get another pot and plant soon so I can quit doing that! When it quits raining here, I will scout out another one and make sure it doesn’t disappear!! Thank you!!

I still can’t believe it! I had a really big flower pot outside my office door with a red geranium plant in it. I have had that flower pot and plant outside the door as an attraction for clients since I moved in here 5 years ago. It probably weighed 40-45 lbs due to the wet dirt and the plant and it was a big pot. And yesterday morning when I got to work, I just stood outside the door for about 5 minutes in shock because someone had STOLEN THE ENTIRE POT during the night, the entire thing, leaving nothing but the ring on the ground to show it had ever been there. 👿 It wasn’t like it was some exotic or unusual plant, just a geranium, and the office is in a complex that is a bit secluded, no walk through traffic, a bank at one end, 2 dentists, a hearing aid place, home health, 2 insurance agencies, a beauty salon, a gourmet meal delivery service, etc. We have never had any problem with vandalism or theft before. I’m mad, hurt, scared, insulted, sad, still in shock that someone would steal my flower pot! I really liked that pot, I had gotten that geranium at the farmer’s market and it survived for 5 years of our scorching summers and cold winters and neglect on my part with the water, it just hung in there producing red flowers and greeting the clients when they came in. I don’t know whether to get another one and chain it to the outside pipeline, or cement to the ground or not get another one at all. But it looks so bare there!! 😥 Why did someone have to take the whole pot? They must have had help, that was a heavy pot! 🙄 It’s rare when something of mine gets stolen, so I don’t have a lot of experience with it, at least lately. STUPID THIEVES!!! :shout: May they never have a moment’s peace with it and may their hands break out in warts, rashes, eczema, itching, and their fingers swell up like sausages and their hair and teeth fall out, and they get incurable toe fungus! I have more but I’ll save them for later!
*still shaking my head in disbelief* WHY?

I’m wondering why so many of the pictures that are posted on the threads have been edited out or deleted by photobucket? Also some of the messages just have the quote marks and maybe an emoticon, but no words. This is happening on a lot of threads, yours and others. I tried asking Snapdragon but his thread is locked. 😕 😮 😕

Thanks everyone for the congrats on the tiger, I really will try to post pictures when I get him, but I’m really not good at it like I said, but I’ll do the best I can.
I wanted to add a bit about the packing problem: I bought 2 wizard’s retreats from a seller that had 2 at a reasonable price, but when they got here, one had been chipped in the packing process. I emailed the seller and said what had happened (it was obvious, the tip had gone right through the plastic bag) and they said to mail it back and they would refund the money, no problem. Because of various things, I didn’t get it mailed back for about 3 weeks. Then I got an email yesterday that said it had been clearly posted on the auction that any refunds had to be asked for in 7 days after I got the items and because I was way out of that time frame, no refunds would be made, glad you are enjoying the other one. No mention of any 7 day window was made when I asked for the refund and nothing was said about returning the item. I almost just asked for it back, but decided to check with paypal first to see what to do. They were very helpful, suggested that I file a dispute and then escalate it to a claim, considering that I had already negotiated with the seller with no good results. So I filed a dispute, telling the seller that I was filing a dispute, I wanted 1/2 of what I had paid for both of them otherwise I would escalate to a claim. This was this afternoon, and I couldn’t escalate to a claim until tomorrow. But within 4 hours, the seller agreed to a refund of 1/2 the purchase price! I was very surprised that they worked so fast! So I got my refund, and although I’m out the cost of shipping it back, I’m really pleased with Paypal for taking care of this for me.
Just thought I would share my experience with paypal!

😀 😆 Yabbadabbadoo! I just got the tiger cub! He only cost me one arm and a leg and a bumper and my firstborn (she’s 46 and I don’t think anyone would want her except her husband and she wouldn’t go anyway!) and two back teeth and my left ear, but he’s worth it! I’m so excited I just can’t wait to see him! I really love all the big cats (and the little ones too!) and the tigers are my favorites! This little guy just reached right through the computer and melted me! I am SO happy! *doing snoopydog happydance* What a Valentine Day present for myself! I love my collection and I’m not usually so expressive when I win a piece, so this one is an exception. So I thought I’d share. I will try to post pictures of him when I get him, although I’m pretty bad at it. So, hotdiggitydamn!! I am one happy camper!! 😆 😀

in reply to: Message of the Tree #751646

Dawn, your description of your dream is truly moving. I shared it with 2 of my clients who come from abused childhoods and it opened up some powerful places in their therapy, so I want to thank you for that. One of them wants to share it with her abused brother who was abused even more severely than she was hoping that he will have the courage to seek therapy. You write impressively well. The other client is an artist who could “see” your images and was very moved by them. It seems that your dream brings out the artist in quite a few people!
I also want to say that your tree is in the middle of a beautiful park that you can’t see when you are too close to the tree, but when you are able to step back from it, you can see that there is more to the world than the tree, there is light and other people living their “normal” lives and the possibilities of living in a world that has love and laughter and choices that you can’t see when you are still under the tree with all the pain and horror and helplessness. Even if the people out there in the park were ignoring/denying the tree, the park still exists with whatever we choose to make of it for ourselves and they aren’t the only people in the park, there are many who see the tree and do their best to help, and it’s hard to find those people while you are still clinging to the tree and believing that “I was raised here, in this way…and it is good enough.” And you can’t see that until you can move away from the tree.
I’ve treated a lot of people for childhood abuse and I remember one client said she didn’t know that she “was only seeing in black and white, and now (she) was seeing everything in color” with this wonder in her voice and on her face. An amazing moment.
I am really glad that you are moving away from your tree and finding your park. You have a lot of talent that even though I haven’t seen your artwork, your writing is really beautiful and you certainly have a talent for imagery!! I am grateful that you shared this dream with us, and I will definitely use it to help make a difference in my clients’ lives and the ones they touch. Thank you!

    Beautiful!

I agree with siberakh1 about the animal for your friend’s hospiced mother with Alzheimer’s. When my dad had Alzheimer’s, our very patient 5 lb cat would sit on his lap for longer periods than could be reasonably expected and let him hold and pat her and she was immensely calming to him even when he was agitated. She wasn’t even a trained hospice cat, just a really sweet loving little 15 year old tabby who amazed us all. (Maybe your friend could use a calm animal friend too! I think we all can use a kitty fix sometimes!)
I’m glad you are better and have a new trip to look forward to! Things like that really speed recovery!! 😀

in reply to: Bad News….Broken Dragon-ADVICE NEEDED #659650

Maybe I’m swimming against the river here, but I’ve had really good luck with filing claims with paypal. I had a string of bad sellers at one point, with 2 wizards at one time broken in half, one was sent wrapped in a teeshirt with 3 small pieces of hard styrofoam in a small box(!!) and other smushed Windstones so at one time I had 5 disputes going with paypal. My P.O. refused to honor each and every insurance claim I submitted claiming bad packing on the part of the sellers, even though they (the sellers) claimed the packing was “more than adequate”. So Paypal took it up with the sellers, and initially paid me the first $200 of the claim and then sometimes the sellers didn’t have enough in their accounts to go after the rest, but eventually they did, so when they did, Paypal went in and took out the rest of it. I was very pleased with the service I got from Paypal.
One thing I really had to pay attention to was the timeline on escalating the disputes to claims, though. That is not automatic, I had to do that, otherwise paypal assumes that the dispute has been resolved and drops it. I always contacted the sellers first by using the “contact seller” on the original ebay listing (I don’t delete anything on purchases until I get the item and I’m satisfied with it) and then go from there. I also asked Paypal if I was getting a reputation for filing so many claims, and was assured that the dispute center was what it was there for and they were trying to keep their reputations clean too, so it was to their advantage to keep their buyers happy.
Anyway, I thought I would weigh in with my experience with Paypal. My scorecard is: Post Office:0% Fed Ex:0% Paypal:100% so far.(fingers crossed!) Incidentally, not all the sellers I’ve bought items from that arrived damaged were PITA’s, some were very apologetic, just inexperienced, and cooperative and we resolved things without having to resort to paypal. But for me it is good to know I can resort to paypal when I need to, I don’t have to feel so angry and helpless, it’s hard enough to get a damaged Windstone without the added insult.

yeah, I got the kitty too. He’s a cutie, and he has 5 brothers and sisters waiting for him in their display case. I wish I could post pictures of them, but I messed up the last pictures so badly the last time I tried, I’m reluctant to try again, at least for a while. (See October 2, 2008) Maybe with a little more practice with my camera and some help, I can try again some time. I would love to post the pictures, I”m really proud of the collection, it’s up to 249 at last count, but the picture taking is just so BAD! Anyway, Thank you for the congrats on the kitty! I do appreciate it!

I was lucky enough to win the kirin :D. He will be joining his cousin baby kirins and his other new cousin baby kirin lilac gold test paint newly arrived last month. His adoptive parents don’t seem to mind their growing family of now six babies although the house is getting a bit crowded. They just figure there’s always room for one more, so they are busy rearranging the living space and getting out the welcome mat!
Congradulations to the winners of the sun dragon and the poad!!!
