The Bengal mama griffin is absolutely, positively stunning.
Griffinlover wrote:She said their were more but this was the only one that was painted brown atm http://www.windstoneeditions.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=10&t=11364. I know they are having problems in the factory with the Gypsum. I hope this becomes a production but like the auction said it will not look like this one with all the detail. She also hints at the fact their is a silver one that I think to believe isnt the raffle prize for this month. So I hope I can have a chance at that one 😀
Congrats on whoever won! He is a amazing! I actually went out with the girls to night so I didnt have to think about it lol.I followed your link, GL, and she did say: “…and just this one brown Bengal so far. I plan to do more of them.” So there will be more; it’s just a matter of time. Works for me (and you, too)! :0)

Actually, she didn’t hint at all! From the auction: “He is part of a small group of Male Griffins that I have test painted in this color.” Soooooo, that means there’re already more in existence, waiting to be auctioned. This went for a OOAK price, but it’s not OOAK, and you all can have hope for getting one! I don’t know what she means by “small group”, but I would think at least 5 or so. In my (yes, sometimes addled) mind, “a couple” is 2, “a few” is 3, “several” is 4-5, and “a small group” starts at 5 and ends before a dozen. Who knows what they mean to Melody, though! He is stunning, and I’d love to have one, too!
I don’t care for the dark-point paint. To my eye, it looks like he’s all sooty-faced or something, but I’m sure he’ll appeal to many others.
My first Oriental arrived yesterday (the young amethyst), and there was almost a ceremony as she was placed in my secretary and became “the” dragon in the den. My boys were very into it, as they know we have a dragon (of some kind) in every room, but since we moved into the house (ahem, 7 years ago…) somehow the top-o-the-monitor dragons never made it back. Now we have a flat-screen, so they’d’ve lost their home anyway… :0)

Sure looks like infringement to me. The seller is aware that it isn’t Windstone, but unaware that it shouldn’t be sold.
Wow. It’s a good thing I’m not buying these, as apparently they had 5 of each or something! Sheesh! I check every day, and the only one I could have bought was the daddy. I feel really badly for any of you who wanted them! :0/
Well, thanks to Pam’s nice update/info post, I don’t have to go nuts with it, since there are 6 of them. Takes a load off, and I don’t know that 6 of “us” will step up, anyway, given the likely bidding levels. I also don’t know how many really like the color. I think you know how I feel about it! 😉
I love the piggy, too! I was thinking about it until guess who showed up… If you want a piggy, you better grab one now, because Melody says in the auction that there’re only four, no more. There are 2 more, pink ones, and one spotted (no color specified). It really is SO adorable! :0)
Okay, so you all can sigh with me…. one, two three…
DID YOU SEE THE CINNAMON GOLD SECRET KEEPER?!?!!? I have been waiting and waiting for the SK of my dreams because I don’t have one, and Olimpia painted it!!!! I hope I have a chance of getting this one because I am totally blown away by the color and beauty. If you love me, don’t bid!!!! Okay, I know someone else will want it……… but I REALLY REALLY REALLY want it….. please?
I almost jumped on the fledgie, but kept hesitating, and then didn’t get one. There was something I couldn’t put my finger on that held me back, although I really love the coloring. Then, seeing the father’s coloring, it really struck me: that cobalt blue is what ruins it for me. I went back in to look at the fledgie again, and he has it, too, but it doesn’t stand out as much. It’s really obvious on daddy. Without that, I would have snapped him up!
It’s kinda cool, because the sitting (boy?) chick is with (his) daddy, too! He hasn’t come yet, but when he does, I’ll post a pic of the testosterone side of the family… ;0)
According to the coloring on the stuffed specimens, your new attempt is spot-on. They were not colored just like zebras at all. You’ve done a beautiful job in making it look life-like! I can’t even imagine what the grand-uni will look like… The only comment I have is that on those specimens, they appear to have some black or dark brown hair in the inner portions of the ears. I don’t know if you want to mess with that, but it would be authentic, if there is such a thing! :0)
Oo oo oo! I got one! I just finished, and there were 17 left…. Can’t believe I lucked out! 😀
Thanks, Purple! I am so spotty on these forums because I’m just too busy! But on vacations and in the summer I have more time for “frills”. I’ve been home sick lately… bleh
Jennifer wrote:Can I come visit him? Hehe just kidding. I know I asked before, but my memory is terrible lately…!! What part of WNY are you in?
Yes, of course! Maybe I’ll have the whole family some day, and we’ll have a party! We have a cottage on Canandaigua Lake, so we could have a picnic/swimming/boating/Windstone swap meet! Wouldn’t that be the coolest? 8)
