So I have been trying to get my hands on a peacock emperor for a while now; a very good friend of mine has wanted one for a while but she can’t afford to purchase a mint one and I can’t afford to purchase a mint one as a gift for her.

So I saw this ebay auction: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=390283399001&ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT

How much am I looking at to fix him? I can’t even tell really what the damage to the tail is but the seller says it’s ‘taped on’? How much would be a reasonable amount to pay for him on ebay?

I’m not a dragon person so I have no idea; just trying to do something nice for a old friend.

*snip* Just a suggestion, it would also work well for the PYO swaps!

I think I’ve got a pretty good handle on running the swaps; I haven’t had any problems with getting answers for people when they have question (they email the question to me & I contact the person). Also I’ve been trying to pair up people who haven’t been paired before and lastly there are some people that will/won’t ship international so those are separate too.

Right now there are only 3 people signed up; me, Dragon87 & ghostndragon. Not sure we can do a swap with only 3 people but there is still a week plus left for sign ups… we’ll see how it goes.

It’s time for the 2011 Spring Gift Swap to get started!

PLEASE NOTE: It seems with every swap we get a few more people that can’t meet the deadlines. We all totally understand that life sometimes happens but PLEASE, if there is even a hint of a problem let me know so we can either plan to switch someone out or at the very least inform all involved of delay. Thank you!!

Also, I do my best to try and match people that haven’t been matched before (first draw the names from a bowl then re-arrange as needed) but since there is a limited amount of participants I am getting to the point where I might need to give you someone you had previously. I hope that is ok!

What it is: If you enlist, your name gets thrown into a hat. You will receive the name of one person, and someone else will receive your name. Your goal is to put together a small care package for that person. Letters, candles, incense, chocolate, bath goodies, foodie goods, craft-store finds, etc. Something nice to brighten his or her day. You might even get a new friend out of the deal.

                Timeline:
                January 6th, 2011 — Sign-ups open
                January 31st, 2011 — Sign-ups close
                February 1st, 2011 — Swapper notifications
February 15th, 2011 — The last day to notify me of a back-up need
March 1st, 2011 — Last Day to put packages in the mail

                General Guidelines:
                — All US domestic packages *MUST* have shipping confirmation/a tracking number.
                — It is suggested you include at least 3 items in your package if you are getting smaller gifts; if you wish to send one large item that is fine too.
                — General price range will be $25 – $35 total spent on gift items, though if you’d like to invest more, that’s fine. And $25 is not a mandatory minimum that you have to spend– if you’re good at crafts or you have a knack for finding thrift store treasures, that’s cool, too.
                — Please, please, do not ask to participate if you are unsure about your ability to follow through on your end. Yes, there are generous people who have and will throw together back-up packages so that no one gets left out. No, that does not mean that it’s okay to flake. Please note: February 15th is the absolute last date to tell me that you need to bow out.

                Got it? Good! 🙂

To participate, please fill out this questionnaire and email it to Traci at CrimsonVision dot net (please make sure to type out my email the correct way rather than just copying and pasting; trying to avoid spammers!), with the subject line “Windstone 2011 Spring Gift Swap”

LOL the food was regualr good party food although there was some ‘questionable’ alcohol there. 😀

WOW Crimson, you two are an attractive couple 🙂 Before I even read what you wrote, I was thinking, “Heh, she looks like Peg Bundy” I can totally see the Kid Rock thing too! That sounds like a neat theme for a party. What were the decorations like, if the theme was extended into the decorations?

There really wasn’t any decorations; the party-goers were PLENTY of ‘decoration’ for the evening. LOL! It was so funny because for all of us it’s so far from our ‘norm’ (usually in fancy clothes or costumes) it was hilarious all night.

Thought I would share a pic of Hubby & I on NYE:

We went to a NYE party at a friends; the theme was ‘White Trash takin’ it Easy!” He went for the ‘dressed up redneck’ look (personally he reminds me of Kid Rock; still fits the theme! Heh!) and I dressed like Peg Bundy from “Married with Children’. That is actually all my real hair; there is a bump-it in there somewhere but ti’s mostly due to curling & teasing. I also don’t have bangs but Youtube’d how to roll them so they looked like I do. 😀

Had a great time at the party & have had a few good days to start the year. Today is an awesome one though; Hubby’s Dad comes home for good from the Rehab hospital! We are having a party at his place tonight! Speaking of which; need to head to the store now for supplies!

Well i talked to the last two people waiting on gifts & they have gotten them but just haven’t had time to come in here and gush about them yet! 😀 So another successful swap completed!

Going to try and arrange the ‘Spring Swap’ now but probably wont get it up until tomorrow or Thursday. Right now I’m headed off to my Father in Law’s house; he’s coming home from the re-hab hospital for good today! That presents a whole new mess of challenges but YAYAYAYAYAY!! 😀

It wasn’t something I was ‘actively’ looking for but I did like it. 🙂 I have been wanting the unicorn gargoyle which I do want even more now. 😉

So I didn’t just buy a new Windstone but get this. I went to a holiday party last night & they were having a gift exchange there. Money is *really* tight for me right now after Pearl’s surgery & for my gift I gave some items my Boss had just given me (stuff from Bath & Body Works that I actually already had). Look what I ended up coming home with:

                                  😮

He has smoe rubs that you might be able to see on the bottom of his left wing & thigh but still! No one there knew what he was & I’m not sure who actually brought him to the swap but yeah.

Best gift exchange present I ever got!
