Of course, I also like the bastardization of it from Army of Darkness: Klaatu, Barada, Nnnn… Necktie, Nickel, definitely an ‘n’ wordIt is scary to think of others talking to your children about sex offenders, but I think the teachers/administration are concerned about the kids whose parents don’t talk to them, and I imagine there are quite a few who don’t. I agree about seeing if you could attend, so you can talk about it afterward and not guess about what was presented.
Both of ours were planned… we waited until I had finished my degrees & had the job I wanted. And if you have kids, then yes, you have signed on for a lifetime of worry. My daughter is 4 and I still occassionally wake up & check on her, not to mention my 15 mo. old boy. But, I would fight to the death for my kids. I do not understand how anyone could hurt or neglect a child. When Kiera was just a wee baby there was a special on orphanages in Russia where the babies never cry or smile because they’ve learned no one will respond. I cried so hard & realized I could love those babies.
My best friend is having some similar problems with her son, though on a lesser scale. BUT, his teachers thought he was ADHD or ADD or whatever, and she cut certain things out of his diet and it made a HUGE difference. Namely, cut out anything with Red 40 (which is actually banned in many European countries and has been for years) and sodium benzoate. (Eek… I think…. but definitely the red 40 which is in so many different products.)
Worth a shot, at any rate.
