Am i the only one not smart enough to find this thread now that it’s moved? I have to come back to the PYO section, and scroll down til I find it. I looked in community, since it gets regular responses, it ought to be at the top?
Anyway, I went out early last night at poker, and rather than buy back in(it’s only $1 poker….for the whole night, very family oriented) I worked on mama. Everyone found her…well, I don’t get the impression that they felt dragons come in that color π―
Anyway, I’ll try to get some pix posted today. I started adding gold trime, just to see how it would look. I kinda dig it.
Nothing ever stays here long enough to collect dust. I have somewhere around 300-400 horses in the house/shop at any given time, and probably 20 aren’t for sale. And, even though to got into painting PYO’s to keep for decorations, I don’t like my own work, so I don’t keep it(same with horses).

I feel spiffy, I have a “style”. π

Thank you so much Jessica Fry! (I would use your forum name, but I’m not sure what it is.) I love it. Haven’t figured out a name yet. I’m sure I will in the next few days.
Yes, that’s me. I’m glad you like him.

Yeah, he’s awsome. He is really supportive. You should have seen my first custom horse, and I was barely selling them for cost for the longest time. He bought me a new brush, and pushed me to be better. He’s pretty cool.
And he loves them Old Warriors π
Holy Crap π― I thought the OW was a monster.
That explains the price. Dang, she’s awsome. Total congrats, and you enjoy and brag away. Rock on.
Although….I’d watch what you put near her. Something that big could eat a small child, housecat…..haha
I think he looks fantastic, great job!
I obviously don’t check here often enough. There’s more PYO’s coming??
Anytime your heart desires. Just e-mail them with your order, and they’ll send you an invioce π
I’m not expecting anything, but if he does remember, I’d expect dinner and dead flowers(I hate cut flowers, someday he will remember to bring home POTTED plants so I can kill them at my own leisure π― )
DragonsCavern wrote:OHHHH I will have money by the end of this next week! YAY! My re-fi is going through FINALLY!!! π π π
haha. Money is always nice! We’re supposed to be getting our tax returns one of these days….pay off TWO credit cards!! EE!!
Sure, I’ll take private offers. Normally, with the horses I pick the prices, unless one comes along hubby doesn’t want me to sell. I think that’s the case here, he thinks she looks awsome in the curio(he’d keep ALL the dragons if he had it his way though….)
Greater Basilisk wrote:Considering a decent hourly wage, $300 is good and your hubby is absolutely right. Unfortunately, I doubt the free market on E-Bay would give you that – except for folks like TC.
Yeah, I tried to explain that to him. That these aren’t like the horses, these are just “collectible” and fun. Horses, if you have a good one, you make decent money. Windstones, while more fun, really aren’t all that profitable it seems. I donno. I’ll post pix when she’s done and see what the world thinks π I’d be happy to get enough to buy some more damaged ones haha. She’s a lot less stressful to work on.
DragonsCavern wrote:I am STILL jealous! π , and I still LOVE the paint job! You are awesome…I hopefully will have my refi by wed of next week, then maybe youll let me make you an offer for that Dragon your doing! π π
I’m still anxious to see what the PYO swapper thinks. I shipped him out yesterday… π
Hubby informed me that the starting price on that mama dragon is $300. Does that seem high to anyone? He said for the sheer amount of work she’s taking, that’s the lowest he’ll go….(says that like he’s done more than just WATCHED π ).
I won’t be able to work on her til tomorrow, bummer. We’re having poker here tonight, and I gotta get the placed cleaned up(the table is COVERED with horses, dragons, paints, ect, and the dog chewed up something?? it’s all over the house)
DragonsCavern wrote:WOW!!! DAMN you got a steady hand!!! I COULDNT even do that, like around the legs, and even I have a steady hand! WOW!!! π― I am jealous! π π
If it helps, this is the *first* time I’ve successfully managed to make the markings turn out. Actually, it’s the second time I’ve tried, but the first time it worked. I really don’t have as steady of a hand as I’d like. Honestly, Windstones *made* me better. Seriously. All those little scales and whatnots. Never had to deal with that level of detail before, except horse eyes and hooves, but that’s a 20 min. deal each, nothing major.

I just might name him Dragon Food now. Look what you guys did to me π―
DID to you???? LMAO!!! π π
IT ROCKS!!! I dont think it needs anything else, thats amazing work!! Are you using some stenciling or anything like that on it?? Its sooo defined, I LOVE IT!! π πNope, it’s all done by hand. I’m not smart enough to use stencils π
