When I first saw it I had to double check. For a second I thought Windstone changed it’s name…or perhaps Melody or Nambroth may have painted it…but then I saw otherwise. It looks awesome, but I think it’s very close to the paint job of the Keeper, which moany Windstone Collectors may not even know about yet. :shrugs: Up to Windstone though. I hope it doesn’t become a problem.
I found this on ebay and it rocks…but it’s like Melody’s Keeper dragon: http://cgi.ebay.com/WINDSTONE-EDITIONS-MINI-KEEPER-OOAK-PYO-ORIGINAL-NR_W0QQitemZ160076660938QQihZ006QQcategoryZ35873QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem
My question is…how close is too close? I hope it can sell because it’s going to medical bills, which I know all too much about…I just want to make sure.I think there needs to be be more time or something. I work full time on art and can do this full time, whereas others have other jobs and school to go to. Hmm…
I’m in. In fact, it would be cool to see what we could all do for each other. Kinda like a pull their names out together gift exchange thing, like Christmas secret santa.
Oh yes, she wanted all metallics of gold, red, and bronze. Other than that she gave me free reign. The colors actually look really good together so far!
The original commissioner I showed it to thought it over and honestly liked the color combo and how it was done save for a couple little things, so wanted this model. I was still set against giving it to the commissioner imperfectly but instead of doing another which would take longer for her, this one is going to become a salvage opertion over the weekend. I kinda feel better removing it also, so I can make it perfect and more worthy of going to someone who pays for it. I would not have removed it if it had a bid already though, so I was happy it didn’t. I’ll post images once it’s perfected.
My next one is a dragon commission…the commission I took due to the auctions Copperdragon posted. It has to be done this weekend so I’ve only had a couple days to do it in and I need to paint fast and put in some late hours. But I love the gold look so I may do a silver/gold/bronze combo after that. I don’t know…so many infinate choices!
All excellent ideas…and you will see more darker themes coming since I have a set I am doing for Spark which will have blue, purple, black and siler on all of them. Modeling them after frogs is cool, or current reptiles. I’m not sure I would do a rainbow dragon because I think it might infringe on Windstones rainbow dragons. I HAD been condidering trying to do a pastel dragon…and I utterly hate pastels…but maybe purples and whites…something softer for a change. I am also debating a golden coral dragon that would glow-in-the-dark, but not sure if folks would like gold and white mixed that much. Maybe minty green and white and glows in the dark? Ah a poison dart frog look would be cool. An orange one might be cool too if I added reds in…maybe like a sunset dragon. And pink…we all knew that coming. I might do that though…just need to order pink eyes.
If you could see me paint any PYO in any color scheme, what would it be? Feel free to mention more than one. You might just see me do it.
I lot of folks seem to like the green…I thought the brown one would have been the most liked. I never know what colors people love best.
I can’t wait to see them alltogether. I love the concept! I have been toying with a green-scaled KiRin myself but haven’t decided on having brown hair or black. I hope mine won’t look like yours. This one though is stunning. I can’t really tell due to light if you have other shades of blue in the mane and such but I love it as-is and find that KiRins can have solid color hair and it makes the rest pop out. Isn’t it always hard to decide if you should color the scales or not? I mean if you paint manes first, which I nrmally do. I always find it a tough choice because they look so good in every color, even white.
Cheryl I like your PYOS! Besides, I take trades for more PYOs too. I can always use ’em.
And alas, I have not seen a frog in YEARS, either in Illinois or in Wisconsin…not a frog or a toad and I rarely ever hear them. I used to manage to catch so many and all…and now they seem rare occurances. Frogs are like the birds of the evening, and now the nighttime is quiet. 🙁
The yellows are actually like an irridescent golden. Looks awesome in person, like interferance paints. I did post him to ebay this morning. Arlla, I haven’t started your autumn wolf yet but if you wanted, I could paint a dragon instead…which you you like more for our trade?
Nope, all hand-done. I haven’t used the airbrush yet but plan to try it out on a pig sculpture I’ll post once I figure out how to airbrush mix my paints.
Ok, I finally got to finish this one! I have so many PYOs I start and then paint altogether at the same time that when I do manage to finsh them they all seem to come roughly back-to-back. I have been dying to finish this one since I love the green colors. It has amber eyes and for once my photograph came out in a very true form! Take note…we all may just need all-white boring paper backgrounds! I’m pleased with this one and it’s a great pick-me-up from the black gold wing winged wolf.
