Can’t people check account name and computer er…what do you call those things…each computer has an IP address…can you determine if the seller is driving up the bids that way? That…or maybe they have multiple computers or friends…either way I don’t know how you could proove and/or stop them.

I had a case where one time, not on a windstone item, there were two bidders fighting it out. Lets just call them bidder 1 and 2. Bidder 1 jacked the price up while Bidder 2 kept the pace. Only Bidder 2 wanted the product however, and was only bidding because they knew Bidder 2 REALLY wanted it…and thus bid out of spite. It was a little bit of a mess in the end because I got complaints from Bidder 2 who thought that it was me myself bidding up the auction! She he didn’t want to pay. Hiw own investigation turned out that Bidder 1 was his enemy or ex or some such who only knew that he was going to bid on my artwork and signed on to EBAY to “make him pay”. Bidder 2 was still angry that he had to pay me so much for the item when he won even though he found out it wasn’t me jacking the price after all, and wanted me to give him a discount because he felt that nobody else (since it was just he and his ex) wanted the artwork anyway! Long story short he finally bought the item but it’s things like that that have always made me very nervous with bidders rated with 0 feedback.

I’ve never heard the term shill bidding…where is the topic?

I can only imagine one way to really catch a shill bidder…and that is if they win an item from someone and the auction said the seller only had one of that item…and then that same items gets reposted again if the shill bidder bid an amount too high and nobody overbid it. But even then that’s no way of telling and I’m sure Ebay can’t really track things like that. But that’s the only other reason I can see people hiding bidder names.

Sometimes I wonder about bidders…especially the new way of not revealing names a lot of people are doing. Granted we know why Windstone is doing that…but I’ve never seen that done before with other Windstone auctions and it makes me a little suspicious, especially seeing the rates some of the auctions are going for.

Hey Melody, glad you’re back. I would definately be down for a black and tan…I’d love to be the first to put in a pre-emptive order for that and would pay now even if you were for sure going to do them. I like them better than the browns and even the silver.

I’m looking into it…not sure yet if I will do this but I may like an egg-shaped stone for the dragon. It depends on the sizes I can get since they gotta be small, almost like a bead. There’s nowhere around here that sells stuff like that. I’l lucky we just got in a Best Buy and we do have a Michaels. The rest is cornfields.

Maybe I’m getting confused with gold then? Did they produce gold fledgelings?

It would be ideal if we request that this post be turned into a sticky. That way it won’t get lost in the many other postings.

This weekenend or next week I am going to paint my pink-eyed dragon and KiRin. I want to paint them first and get the pinkness out of here. I got them in the mail at last! I’ve decided to paint them in pinks and purples; the kirin with a violet to deep purple mane with white, and a gradient of pink scales…and the dragon with deep pruples for the spine and the scales trailing into the pinks and white for the belly…both all souped up with violet intereference paints.

I was wondering a couple of things…should I attach quartz stones to them? Or maybe buy small quartz crystal balls? I have no idea where to get those. And should I maybe sell them as a paired set or singly?

I like the way they only allow 4…it makes sure everyone has at least one full day that their images get seen so it’s fair for everybody.

Were they? I wasn’t aware that’s how much they were for. I know they got posted on-line on ebay but I was too late on the boards to catch any…do they still have some available? I am almost always too late…I just figured they were higher priced and limited edition signed things like the Old Warriors in silver.

I don’t have one yet…been waiting for the ideal color…mainly the black and tan since I couldn
‘t possibly afford the silver one.

I adore your black and tan dragons, but was never crazy about the mother/father/and hatchlings you have them painted in. Would you ever paint fledglings in that color?

in reply to: Little Flame Dragon Complete #534791

That part was a pain in the butt, but I do want to do that again because it enhances the look. I was using the tiniest brush I have meant for painting Warhammer miniatures, and the paint dries faster than I could blend so it took a lot of time but next time I think I will add a little more water to the brush.

The copper was definately the best choice. In person it’s so stunning…but these photos…oh geeze they ake my paint job work look so darn flat and lifeless! I just almost can’t handle it.
