What irks me beyond reasoning is when I know a bidder already has that item and keeps bidding to win over me anyway. Case in point…I was eyeing a set of Tria slightly used markers that was at $150, which costs normally $300 as a list price. I was also watching the pices on similar auctions and one was a full set of markers for $1,000…which is the standard list price for them. It’s a full set…well over 200 markers…probably 300, I forget the exact total. My auction had 60 markers. The same person bidding against me bought the full set of markers (which had been a Buy It Now) so I figured they’d leave me to bid and win the used set, now that they have every color and brand new. But no…they outbid me for the 60 used markers. I jumped onto another used marker auction of Trias and tried to bid on that…and again that same bidder stepped in and I just left the auctions…forget about it, won’t even try. I never saw who won that one.
I too don’t want to bid against forum members and normally won’t…I’m just sayng, I’d like to be outbid by even $5 or something…not always just by $1, and not by somebody who’d constantly bidding on the same things they already won. Luckily, even though I didn’t win the markers, I put the money towards more PYOs.

Thanks Sky, the truth is, yes, I really don’t care about the colors because I’ll be making my own for my own keeping and am planning to get production color runs of stuff Melody has in the works right now since I like those better than all the rest anyway (crossing fingers for black and tan dragons!). I wouldn’t mind having the young dragon but if its a greenie you could make decent money for him on ebay if you REALLY wanted to part with it. I’d say keep it until you need to sellit are tired of it.

I’ve gotten into the hobby of painting 3D objects and now am slowly building a collection of resin and vinyl and some plastic models of things I’ve always wanted to see in other colors or couldn’t buy as a stock limited run…that kinda thing. Now that’s I’ve discovered that I can change anything I want to by repainting, it’s like a whole new world opening up and now I can decorate the house with sculptures I myself couldn’t create but I can color in my own way.

But ideally I don’t want something completely brand-spanking new…maybe something odla dn dusty with some fleabites I can restore, or a color somebody doesn’t want anymore or got sick of and wants another. Things like that. The oriental dragons I’ve always liked but lately they mean a lot more to me because of the koi dragon tat I want to get…which is why I’m selling off my red ki-rin on ebay right now. I plan to repaint that when I can.

Anyway, that’s the gist of it…and it would have been cool to have a baby kirin with my new lucky flame PYO kiRin.

My hope it that Melody puts out the KiRins in a new color or something so I can have those. I am looking for an OW, fledgling, baby ki-rin, and the orientals in any color.

Lol, yeah but I don’t have the $$ to spend, plus the particular piece I bid on tonight is retired and not around…although I may just have to bite the bullet and buy the orientals brand new and do what I want to with them…shame to taint a brand new one though.

Granted I don’t check ebay daily, but when I do I always look up Windstones…always have, to try and get certain pieces. It’s a hard choice to pick between Windstones but I have been seeking only a couple things for many years…and every time I bid…within the last few seconds mind you, somebody always sniped me out of it even though I had tried to snipe it myself. Maybe it’s justice…maybe it’s just how it has to be…but I absolutely hate being outbid by $1 every time. It’s rare I am able to find the certain pieces I want for a decent price tag and then to loose by $1!

On top of that I’m ideally looking for chipped pieces, not even mint.

This has ended my down day with a even bigger feeling of annoyance and depression. I suppose I shouldn’t bid anyway since now I got a new major medical bill to cover, but it would have been a nice pick-me-up.

I’m seriously not bidding on any more Windstones. I’ll be seeking them out however else I can. I’ve had it with trying for them on EBAY until I win the lottery and can drop a $500 bid down on anything I want at the last second just to win.

Sorry for the ranter but I am sure many of you have shared in this experience!

in reply to: Jade Orientals #535449

There’s a difference between jade and emerald? I thought Windstone only made two colors on these…red and the green?

in reply to: Jade Orientals #535447

Just found this on Ebay, though you guys are probably all over it…they are the retired Jade Orientals, Mint condition. This seller has all three:

I’m shocked and dissappointed myself I can’t get a hold of chipped and/or broken ones on ebay for a decent price. Some of them, the rubies even, are going for just as much broken as a brand new retailed piece or more…how crazy is that! You’re so lucky to have found this one to repaint.

in reply to: Rainbow Dragon! #535276

Ok, can I just ask if it’s ok to do a rainbow-scaled ki-Rin with a black and white mane then? Can I lock that idea in or are you planning something along those lines for a set? Don’t want to step on any toes…so hard to do rainbow colors too differently from each other so I’ll stay away from a rainbow dragon.

in reply to: Rainbow Dragon! #535274

Aw man, I had a similar idea for a black dragon. You should so do this style in black and have a set! Looks like a Rainbow Bright dragon!

    in reply to: WOW #535147

I’ve had a few bad buyers in the past either on ebay or whatever, even companies that have hired me who later got angry with my rates or whatever. I think it’s just a lack of respect for actual original artwork. It’s like people forget that “Original” doesn’t mean “Mass Produced” like ipods and CDs.

    in reply to: WOW #535144

You can imagine! I didn’t even want to give the painting to the guy even AFTER he paid but I was bound of course by Ebay rules and didn’t want that guy giving me negative feedback. But he honestly ranted me out like I was some kind of thief or something…and only just barely appologized when he found out the truth….kinda like…well, sorry about that but now that I know, I feel I should get a price reduction because nobody else wanted your art anyway!
