Check out the Fantasy Books for Young Readers thread under General Writing. It has some good books that are suggested and talked about there.
I enjoyed the Magic Ship trilogy by Robin Hobb and the Fire Within series by Chris D’Lacey. If you haven’t already read them, the Pern books (Dragonflight, Dragon quest, etc) by Anne McCaffrey are good. She also has other non-dragon series that are popular. If you’ve read Eragon, the next book is Eldest. I have it, I just need to find time to sit down and read it. 🙂
My VF Curlie arrived today. Just when they said it would. These are adorable sculptures (this is my first). Too tempting to start trying collect one in every color scheme.
It arrived with my first PYO Muse. I know what I’ll be doing this weekend. 🙂
Wow! I SO love those colors!
A color combination I mentioned in another thread that I like is a deep burgundy, maybe blended with brown for the back with a cream colored belly, like you have on this one. It’s a color combination I’m trying on my PYO.
Happy Birthday!
Who says all Old Warriors are “He’s”? Where’s the female Old Warriors? They might prefer to be pink? 🙂
My favorite colors in the Old Warrior are the Autumn Leaf and the Flame. The Flame color looks to have some pink in it. I think the deep burgundy/brown color of the Autumn Leaf OW with the belly color (pink, salmon, rose, not sure what’s called) of the Flame OW would be a nice combination.
Wolf, I sent you a PM about this figure.
Heheh, I did that too, Ski. A Gund Dragon? Yup, had to go check it out. 😀
Thanks everyone.
I never planned on getting an Emperor, but once I saw him in person, he was just so impressive looking. I kept thinking about him, so I finally went back to get him. Besides, he needed rescuing from that dark store that he was in.
I know the store description says, “This is one of Melody’s personal sculptures, so no explanation required”, but I’m new so I gotta ask. Is there a story behind what Poads are; what inspired Melody to create them; how they came about?
Being an Auntie is cool. Especially since my grand nephew is also into dragons. He tells his friends I’m the ‘cool’ Auntie because I like dragons.
I missed the all the baby stuff because I only rediscovered my sister last year. We’d lost each other for about 30 years. I also discovered another sister that I didn’t know about and also found out that my father wasn’t who I thought he was. 2006 was an interesting year. 😀
I remember seeing a message like that a while back. I never did anything. I figured when I reached my limit, I’d find another way to pay for things, but nothing ever happened.
I’ve never given them my bank account information and as far as I know I’ve long ago passed that limit. I’ve never gotten any messages about reaching my limit and not being able to use Paypal.
I didn’t believe it when they said it, but it’s true. My collection has doubled since I found this group. 🙂 That doesn’t even count the unicorn and pegasus prints that I had stored away. I didn’t realize they were Pena’s until I saw someone else’s photos.

Did you contact us once about that blackish peacock male? I’m wondering it yours is one of the two males we have heard of, or if he is a third one -? You have a small, but amazing collection!
Melody, I’m sorry I missed your question about the first pic of my collection. Yes, I was the one that had posted about a nearly black peacock male dragon. Does that mean there are only two of them? He’s in the pictures below. After 20 years, he finally has a peacock mate. 🙂
The greens are from my original collection. This the old Mother dragon that was discussed a while ago.
The brown young, brown hatchling, and mouse wizard (didn’t even know that was a Windstone – got it as a gift) are from my original collection. The rainbow young, PYO dragon and peacock emperor are the newest additions. My VF Curlie and PYO Muse should arrive in the mail tomorrow.
Anyone that can make brownies is a definite winner. So when are you going on a road trip to distribute the brownies?
She looks really neat! I love what you did with all the different textures. Nice job!
Hope these help. If you need more, just let me know.
Edit:
I created a separate album for my Peacock Emperor. I’ll post the links instead of the pics so they won’t take up so much space. There are more pics of my Emperor there too. If you need more angles, just let me know. -
