I make it a point to try and have my Christmas shopping done by Thanksgiving exactly so I will not have to go to a mall between Thanksgiving and Christmas. I know I miss out on some good deals, but I can’t stand the crowds. Especially the screaming, shrieking, cranky kids. If I have to shop between the two holidays, I try to do it online or barring that, go really early.
PM’d you.

She’s a werewolf with a radio talkshow.
I love that series. The next book comes out in January I think.

I adored her Valdemar novels when I was thirteen, but a year or so ago (I’m 25 now) I re-read it and, well, let’s just say the used bookstore got a big pile of books. 🙂 I kept the Herald-Mage trilogy (Vanyel is so emo it’s hilarious), the Gryphon trilogy, The Oath trilogy, and two individual books (Winds of Fury and By the Sword), and let all the rest go. They’re the only ones I can still enjoy reading, though in some cases the reason for that enjoyment has changed.
I frankly can’t stand her newer Valdemar books. They read like they’re intended for sixth graders, and I’m bleedin’ well tired of being hit over the head with the SAME. BLOODY. MORAL. every time I pick up a new book.
On the other hand, I love some of her other novels very much, still. Children of the Night, Bedlam’s Bard, This Scepter’d Isle, the SERRAted Edge books (except for one of them)… these are all still on my shelves and I reread them frequently.
So I’m half a Lackey fan — not a Valdemar fan, but still a fan of many other Lackey series. 🙂
I feel exactly the same way. The whole “There is no one true way” is an admirable sentiment but it gets old after three or four series. Especially since Misty is none too subtle with it.
I also got really tired of Elspeth. Such a whiner. Especially in the Mage Winds trilogy. And she really didn’t have much to whine about. Couldn’t stand the character. Couldn’t read any book that had her as character after that.
One thing about Brooks is don’t read him if you like happy endings. He loves to put his characters through Hell. Sometimes things even turn out okay in one book, and then at the beginning of his next one everything turned out badly.
I just picked up that trilogy. Glad to hear that someone else enjoyed it. I can’t wait to read it.
Is this the second of your season themed wolves? Very pretty.

Sorry siberakh1. 😳 I wish that there were a way to clone these guys so everyone who wanted one could get it.
Koishi, I love your wolves and I’m glad I had a chance to get another. The wolves are my favorite PYO. This will make three. Two from you and one from grayfire arts.

Actually, they mostly already have that. It’s at Astral Castle. It doesn’t have the current prices for retired pieces, but it does have almost everything else. The link is below.
Congrats! Great win. 😀
congratulations!!! 😀
I used too keep one at work. It was a peacock hatchling. Used to get a lot of people who asked about it. Thought it was good advertising. Stopped doing that after one go knocked of the desk and then the replacement disappeared. Bought the third and none of my Windstones has ever left my house again.
Wish you could trust people better. 🙁
I saw your dragon. The way you’ve painted the branches and the leaves is amazing! Love the colors too. I’m definately watching it!
My condolences and prayers go out to you. I’m so sorry.
Sending positive thoughts your way. I hope everything goes well and works out.
