i too think it is very close to black gold. especially with the (dark) blue eye/purple stone combo, in addition to the chosen paint colors. i believe it was mentioned at one point before that for pieces that look close to windstone production colors that you maybe run it by john, etc. before it goes to ebay and the big wide open world… that way way its saves everyone alot of hoop dee doo.
The stone is red. And I disagree with it’s closeness to the Black Gold, mine has no bright yellows, no red, it’s copper actually, and quite a bit of blue, and no purple…which I notice the Black Gold has all those.
It is only from a distance in tiny pictures where there appears to be a simularity, and once you get up close, it goes away.
I am hoping John will agree…we’ll see.
I will tell you guys though, if there is a problem, that will be the final straw.

I am hoping it isn’t considered too close to the Black Gold, because I have decided to put him up on eBay. And I really don’t want John yelling at me again this week, once was enough.
I never meant for him to be anywhere close to the Black Gold color, but from a distance with the small pics, he kinda does, until you get up close and see the differences, especially the bright blue running down his chest, etc.
The big Black Golds look very different from him, but I noticed that the Black Gold young dragon is kinda more reds than golds, which makes my PYO come rather close without meaning to, God I hope this doesn’t end up being an issue. I didn’t see the young version until after I had this guy painted.

I am surprised she let the other cat anywhere near them. They are adorable. I am betting that the oranges are all male, most oranges are. If you have a light orange, it may be female. The black could be either.
Congrats on the new little family.

Hey guys,
I liked the colors of my previous dragon project so much, I decided to paint up my PYO dragon to match. And boy did he come out purty!
To see, just follow the links.

http://www.furaffinity.net/view/518830/The first one is of the display side, and the other is the front view.
My favorite part is the blue…never would have thought to put blue in if it wasn’t for a friend’s suggestion, but boy does it ever work!
Comments welcome. I did submit him to the PYO Gallery, but he isn’t posted yet.

I have a peacock curlie…got him for a steal in eBay…yay eBay…and he was mint! First one I got on eBay that was mint.
Anyway, congrats on your emerald. It’s purty…do like the ones with the egg…too bad they are so rare now.
My collection goals are different though…the curlie I have was just a fluke…too good a price to pass up kind of thing.
My main passion is the browns…oh how I love the browns. So purty.
Still have to get all the ones Windstone offers direct.

That one is so funny I was in tears from laughing so hard! I loved it…so Shrek-like too…the princess beating up the rescuer and going back…too funny!

I would also be willing to pay extra in shipping.
Another question I have, what colors will be the final production colors for the SK?
I am hoping that the Autumn leaf will be one, but I don’t know how hard that one is to paint, production-wise.
Also, have you figured out what you will be selling them for at stores? And if so, what is the ballpark price to be? It would be nice to know how much we need to save up. *grin*
Kyrin
Wow! Congrats on the going price…that is very cool!
I wanna be you! Then I could get more Windstones! π π
I’ve been cut off after I get the Flion and young Oriental…*sigh*

I asked Melody about the violet wolf, but as I said my best guess is that they are doing like what they did with the new empea production color- first 10 are signed or special somehow and so go on ebay while the rest are normal production. (this is only a guess!)
I am excited about the gold old warrior. I hope he is as dark in person as in the photos. I like that he looks bronze. I have a thing for bronze colored dragons (I married one). π
Cool, my partner is a blue dragon. *grin* And yes, my avatar is my online name.

I just met Christopher Moore at Lunacon and he was great! Also met Tamora Pierce – she was very nice and signed books for me when she wasn’t formally signing. I was afraid to intrude but someone else brought books up and she saw me watching and asked if I wanted books signed!
I’ve also met Suzanne Brockman – she writes romance books about Navy Seals. She is super nice! At the last signing I went to she was having a drive for bone marrow donors to help out a Seal from Spotswood, NJ – he went to the same high school my niece went to. (Turned out he matched with TWO people – I think he got the donation from a woman in Germany.)
And the time I almost passed out from excitement – I met NORA ROBERTS! The In Death is one of my all time favorite series (the Anita Blake series is my other favorite) and I got to meet her, got books signed by her and a picture! I’m such a fan geek!
Yay Anita! Another fan, how cool is that? I have the next book coming as soon as it is out…yay for Amazon gift certs.
I’d like to meet Tanya Huff and a bunch of other writers, though I do have a good friend who is friends with Tanya…said she could hook me up with getting some of my books signed, I am so all over that.
Talking about Tanya, anyone else watching Blood Ties?
Kyrin
I’m next…I just won my wings on eBay. *grin*

I’d like to meet Mercedes too, now I am wondering how she ruined your image of her.
Not everyone is as nice as you hope they are, and then some you think won’t be, are. Best thing I guess is to have no preconceived notions when meeting someone.
I lucked out on meeting ADF, I knew he was at the con, but I was chained to a con table of my own and didn’t expect to meet him. But the bookseller next to my table asked him to come and presign a few books and so in the hour before everyone else came into the dealers room, there he was, all mine for like 20 mins.
I don’t write, well not much, mostly am an artist. But is was neat to meet him, I’ve always loved his Spellsinger and Flinx series.

(Some authors I like have turned out to be twits when I actually encountered them in person or on the net. That’s always sad.)
Yeah, I’ve corresponded with John Varley too, nice guy. Found out, after I left the Central Coast that he lives there. Auugh!
Alan wasn’t what I expected, he isn’t much older than I am, and I had thought he was older. But other than that, he is very cool. He told me I mamaged to ask a question no one had before. Something I am proud of, I asked if he got to choose his book cover art, turns out the answer is no.
Kyrin
Very nifty!
Now, if only my recipient would post hers, wonder where she went?
Glad someone finally got theirs though, yay!
Where’s mine? And darn it, I had hoped my person was GB! Darn it, Rylie, you stole my partner!
