I figured he was like corn snakes, who change color as they get older. They’re always so bright and saturated when they’re babies.

Nope, they can hang onto it into adulthood. Although I think the baby pic shown had the contrast tweaked a bit, because their eyes aren’t quite that ruby red. More of a pink and gold. Here’s my big albino female with her boyfriend.

Flash washes her out, but she’s actually almost orange. I’m hoping for some visuals from my lavender albino het pair this season, those guys are purple and orange! :yum:

You can give her a soak in tepid water for about 15-30 minutes, just enough water to come halfway up her sides. Be sure they’re retained eyecaps, since you can really damage an eye if it’s not. Wrap a piece of tape around your finger, sticky side out, and roll it across the eye from nose to tail. Wearing a rubber glove and doing the same can remove them too. You basically want some tacky, but not too much. Just enough to get it going.

Rubbing a small amount of mineral oil on the caps and giving that a bit to soak in can help with removal, too.

I wasn’t invited to participate, or I would have, but want to share my condolences as well. Sending love and good thoughts out into the Universe for you and your family in this time of healing.

Once I get my new laptop tomorrow (hopefully), I’ll get a few pics up. I don’t have many. Caring for the collection at work calms the want for more (to the hubby’s relief). He’s in trouble whenever I finally leave the nature center. XD

But I did take in a crestie last weekend. I gave the hubby the big sad puppy dog eyes and said the little guy desperately needed a home. 😳

It all starts with a couple. Next thing you know, you’ve got a bit of an addiction. 😳 These guys are why I don’t have money for Windstones any more. There’s always a new snake I gotta have.

I love working in the snake room. It’s very therapeutic and cathartic. Once I get going cleaning tubs, it’s really like some sort of meditation. Good for the soul. When we move out of the city a bit in a couple years, I already have the go-ahead from hubby to build a building just for the snakes and all the stuff that goes with them. I’m super excited about that one. No more cramped quarters, creepy basement spiders, and hauling big bags of trash up the stairs.

Thanks for the compliments! If anyone is ever over this way, you’re welcome to come visit with my scalies. My featheredys too. 😀 I promise you won’t leave without some sort of exotic poo on ya.

    Nice geckos and snakes!

I’m a hobby breeder of ball pythons and boas. With boas it’s mainly the localities and dwarf insulars though I do have a few big ‘uns. I have almost a hundred animals, and it’s a full time job caring for them and the rodents I breed for them. I also have some cresties, and a redfoot tort. They bring me much joy in return for all of the back breaking work, though!

I’ll share a few pictures, just kinda the tip of the iceberg though.

    Boo, ghost ball python

    Christmas, piebald ball python

    Mystery, mojave ball python

    Ricky, Tarahumara boa

    Lily, albino ball python

    Parkay, butter ball python

    Citrus, enchi ball python

    Limoncello, pastel ball python

    Terry, redfoot tortoise

    Sissy, ferrari line pastel boa

    Solana, Sharp line sunglow boa

I’ll take the screams for mercy as a hint to stop. XD I have much more, but I’ll stop here for now.

Yep. I’ve had a $1500 bounty on one’s head for over a year now with no results. The silver OW is my holy grail dragon.

Best of luck on the trade!

Haha! A lot of people think they want parrots until they realize what it’s actually like to live with them… for 50+ years… XD Screaming, tons of mess, and the intelligence of a toddler… for 50+ years. It’s not for most people!

Sad, but too true. We’ve got the noise and mess x7, and we run the gauntlet from tiny terror parrotlet up to giant psycho ‘zon, almost all of them from people who had them a few years and then decided they couldn’t handle it. I need to introduce my pied crow sometime too, he’s just the neatest animal I’ve ever met.

Speaking of crests on the male, and the expression of the macaw, I can visualize that male dragon pinning his eyes now.
