My next foo pup will probably be based on a betts like this http://betta-fish-care.org/wp-content/uploads/2011/05/bettafishcaretips.jpg
What color eyes would go best with that coloration?
Since everyone else is sharing theirs, I figured it was time to stop lurking and add in my own. It is my first time with a PYO, so it’s not the best but I’m quite happy with the outcome of my pup! I based the pattern on an asagi koi (more specifically this art of one http://fav.me/d7y7rc).
Grayfire – Your flame pup made me squee. So gorgeous!
Puff – I love that you actually used tea! That’s seriously ingenious.
These are just amazing! I really love seeing everyone’s work. We’ve got some very talented artists here:)
Have you tried Loctite super glue gel (http://www.loctiteproducts.com/p/4/3/sg_g_peasy/overview/Loctite-Super-Glue-Power-Easy-Gel-Control.htm)?
I use sculpey pretty much daily. If you’re hands are cold or the clay is (lets be honest, it’s summer and some of us have the a/c down to 65), you can use a heating pad. Just put the clay in a plastic baggie and fold the heating pad over it. Put the heating pad on medium high and let it sit for 15-20 minutes. It gets very nice and soft by that point and makes it so much easier to condition by hand. It will not bake your clay or anything. I do this every day. Works wonders.
I’ve got a question about handpainted eyes for Melody (or anyone else who knows!). Would coating the backs in epoxy resin keep the paint from peeling away from the glass?
I just felt like sharing this little tidbit. Please feel free to delete or whatever if it is not acceptable.
I recently ordered some custom handpainted eyes from a wonderful Etsy seller (https://www.etsy.com/transaction/83888829). She takes taxidermy blanks and paints them to your specifications. She’s very easy to work with and won’t send the eyes to you until you are happy with them. Her prices are very reasonable as well. http://www.etsy.com/shop/ABlueRosesCreation

June 29, 2010 at 5:10 pm in reply to: Report Windstone Fakes/Knock offs/Infringment Pls read first #708844I’m relatively new to this forum, but I just was checking out some stores on zibbett.com and found these: http://www.zibbet.com/WhimsicalCeramics/artwork?artworkId=66103#art. They look suspiciously like the gargoyle eggs (https://www.windstoneeditions.com/shop/gargoyle-egg-with-eyes.html). I’ll email John about it to see what he says:)
