This is for all the young medical sufferers.
I will be 27 in November of this year.
I am the third youngest case of ovarian cancer ever diagnosed, I was two weeks shy of my 21st birthday. I have had 12 surgeries in 6 years. I have a bunch of medical crap wrong with me, and I sympathize with anyone who has any kind of medical problem. I wonder if there is some correclation with collecting Windstones. maybe something about the strenght and dependability of a dragon draws us in.

Thanks PT! I a little (okay…a LOT) overwhelmed by all the things that there are to do down there! I’ve been to Florida several times, but never to Disney. The only thing I know for sure that we have to do is go snorkling…that was my only request!! We are going to try and do a park a day…theres a few things we’re gonna skip, my darling husband who will climb a 65 foot ladder and run into a burning building refuses to go on any roller coasters, or any other “scary” ride especially the drop ones. Sigh. But there is lots to do other than that, I’m looking forward to the walk through exhibits and Animal Kingdom, I’m dying to see that tree!! I would love to go to Ripley’s too, but I’m pretty sure that’s by St. Augestine…right? I don’t even think we’re going to get to see everything at Disney, in fact I know we won’t, let alone be able to go anywhere else, but we’ll probably go back down in a few years anyway, so I don’t feel too deprived!! I’m just about done packing, I hate that part, I’m never sure what to bring, and always bring too much. Thanks again everyone for the advice, I can really use it!! And PD, don’t tempt me!! I’d love to stop by! And I love South of the Border, even though Zack has never heard of it (can you believe that?)…we’re definatly going to stop there!!

Well, the “man” is a worthless waste of protein and has the manners of a hagfish. You’ve been put in one hell of a position. I’d say that you and your mom figured out what the jerk’s true colors were, so there is hope that your little sister will someday too. Right now she is at a very vulnerable stage that sadly will play right into his hands. She isn’t thinking with her head, she’s thinking with her crazy midteen emotions. She’ll say things she’ll regret, and then be terrified that she has destroyed her relationship with you. She also, I think, senses that something is wrong with the twit she has to have for a father figure, and she’s very frightened by that. Her response in self-defense may very well be to believe whatever he says, because she’s not ready yet to take the unnerving step of making her own decisions about life.

However, she will continue to grow, and her emotions will settle down. Eventually she will start to realize that there are inconsistencies in what he has told her, and start to put things together. At this point I figure it will go one of two ways. She may take the hard choice and decide that he’s been lying to her all along, and turn to you and your mother for help. Or she may take the choice born out of fear, and choose to believe that he’s been right, and end up being utterly miserable.

As far as what you can do . . . actions speak louder than words. If you can, maintain communications with your sister in a way that that SOB can’t mess with. Let her know that no matter what happens or what she says, you still care about her and wish her well. If she asks you for help, do what you can. She may–after all, you figured the jerk out. I hope that she does. And you have my deepest sympathies, for the situation that you are in. 🙁

You are being a very nice person. I personally will wish malignant melanoma on the jackass. 👿 Twice.

    That was unbeilevable well said!!
and great big giant squishy hugs to you Eagle!! Know that you will be a far better parent to your own sweet girl!

I’m sorry PD, That sucks that your family is like that to you. I can relate, my younger brother is the favorite, and my Mom does things for him and then rubs it in my face, she thinks it’s funny. Family sucks sometimes!! At least you get free food!!
