    Yes m’am! *salute*

Like I said, I haven’t even finished what I consider to be the basecoat yet (unless you count the clear spray I put on, but I’m not). Lotsa blending though. And bright colors. The mirror shot, a stroke of genius. I can show the belly and the backs of the wings at the same time.

I still need grey on the white parts on the bird, and to figure out what I’m doing with the rock so I can work on that. I am also debating the crest. I could do bright red, the bluish color on the wings, green like the body, yellow (I’m favoring yellow at this time). Little more difficult because a conure doesn’t HAVE a crest. And I think the grey would look dull. I’m so not going for dull (can you tell?).

Whoof that’s a mouthful. It’s been OVER A YEAR since I painted anything, so I’m doing my first phoenix – a green cheeked conure phoenix for a friend, who’s commission I mussed up on (he liked it, but I promised him something that looked like his bird…).

So far I’m learning that I *can* do blending! Whoohoo! Though I can’t seem to do wet blending too much (I tried a bit, with this one), his blending seems good (for the intense awesome colors).

His basecoat is at 4 hours + of work – I can’t choose one color for a basecoat, because he has so many bright colors that wouldn’t cover each other up well.

Having fun with him though. 🙂 Wanna see the brightness so far, or should I wait till I got a bit more done?

Awe Beckie. I know how tormenting a time like this can be, while your grateful that she passed quickly, you are sad that you are left behind. Be comforted that you will see her again, and it will be a HELLA party, as others have said.

**hugs** And we all love you here, and I’ve been thinking of you lately, and will keep you in my thoughts.

I should just not look at other people’s PYO’s when I’m painting something. It’s just really discouraging because I’m not at that level yet (with practice, maybe some day).

On that note, Candleflame looks fabulous! 😀

    My 2010 resolutions:

    – GET A JOB!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
    – lose 10kg in the next 6 months (if not a bit more!). I’m 87kg or 185lbs – at 5’9, that’s way more then I want to be. I want to be down to 150lbs again, eventually. I hope my Wii Fit helps – I hear that thing has been a miracle for some people – if it’s not… well… I didn’t pay for it, I got it for Christmas (think it was a hint? 😆 ).
    – Figure out something to do with my insulin and insurance. I got enough to last a couple of months – but one of my insulins (which is $300 a box and I use about 1 box every month and a half) is no longer covered. And neither are my testing supplies (about $300/month total). I need to figure out something with that or I’ll literally be starving for my meds!
    – Adopt another kitty. I’ve been wanting to do this forever, but it relies on numbers 1 and 3 working out first.

    Lets see how I did.

GOT A JOB! So did (in March). This works for #3 as well (the insurance) because I am covered through work.

As of Dec 24, I am down to 160lbs even. 10lbs away from my initial goal of 150, so I think I did pretty well! I think I even lost that 10kg I stated. That’s 22lbs or so? So yeah. ‘Bout that. Not in 6 months though, but still throughout the year. I FEEL so much better! Though my pants are too big. Crud. LOL

And I adopted Mojo in June.

So I did everything?! SWEET! 😀

Was up for 26 hours straight (well minus a 15 min nap in there) yesterday/this morning.

Nuff said. *yawn* There goes my sleep schedule. Why’d they have to change my shift AT CHRISTMAS?!?

I am sending my positive energy your way…. your grandmother sounds like she’s left her mark on your family, so through you all, she will live on.

Here’s some hugs from me! Heaven knows you’ve given me enough that I can return the favor.

My arms hurt because the nurses at the vampire den (er, blood lab) couldn’t find a vein. So they wiggled the needle around in my arms. OUCH! :shout: I’m good with needles, but that was too much. At least I didn’t bruise…

    And Pegasi, that sucks! *hug*

Oof Drag0n, sucks about the cellphone.

My internet stopped working yesterday (obviously fixed), so did my TV (same), and my debit card got a hold put on it – AND BMO NEITHER TOLD ME, NOR WILL THEY TELL ME WHY!!!!!!!!!1!!!!!one!

I’m SO wanting to switch banks right now. Oh, and this is the second time this month, and the 3rd time overall that this has happened without any contact from BMO.

And to top it all off, I drove 10 hours last weekend, will drive it again this weekend, and another 8 hours on the weekend of the 7th. :shout: My car’s gonna cry. I think I am gonna cry too. 🙄
