    THE GOLDEN COMPASS!!!!!!!!
    I LOVE THAT BOOK!
I LOVE IT SO MUCH THAT WHENEVER I SEE A MOVIE PREVIEW OR A MOVIE POSTER MY HEART AND STOMACH BREAK OUT IN A VERY LARGE AND SPONTANEOUS CELEBRATION!!!!
I might die the day it comes out because of pure happiness! I feel light headed….
*Swoons and faints but lands on the ground with a smile on her face*

You took the words RIGHT OUT OF MY MOUTH. The day I found out there was going to be a movie I very nearly died.

It is a very spiked eye.

I think of all the cosmetics, hair-dye is the one I like most. (And just for context, I’ve never worn a full face of make-up in my life and hope to high-heaven I won’t ever have to). The thing with hair-dye is that it’s just… well, fun. As long as you treat it as such, anyway. Most people I know will dye their hair not because they think it makes them look better but because blue hair is cool! I mean… heck, if you can do it, why not? When I was little, like six or seven or something, I streaked my hair with blue, green and pink and it was awesome.

Oh, I knew you’d keel me. That’s why I did it! Like you said, it’s only a couple of spikes… >_O

I really like how you did the dots on her head and the scale bit. So much detail in that, she’s beautiful!

in reply to: im happy! #603076

Thank you all so much for coming to visit, it was a blast! And very very awesome to meet everyone. Be sure to take pictures of your muse once it’s done, I can’t wait to see it. Hee! And hopefully we can get the pictures we took off our camera to share with everyone pretty soon.

Hopefully that got your attention. Guess what? You don’t get to lurk, because I’m officially introducing you. Nyah!

Everybody, meet Kati! Kati, meet everybody! *grin* She’s a Windstone collector and good friend of mine who’s finally decided to join. It took a bit of poking to get it done, though.

I think they’ve missed a lot of the humor that makes up Dumbledore’s personality, even from the very beginning. Things like being addicted to odd candies, having a perfect map of the london underground for a birthmark, and giving strange but hilarious speeches on the first day of school are what I think of when I think of Dumbledore. Yet they left much of that out. He’s supposed to seem rather harsh in book five because that’s how Harry views him at the time. But he’s still kind to others.

My main problem with the movies are that they were done too early. I think stories like this need time to gel before they are put into another medium. Things need to be drawn many times before someone finally gets the right look. The entire series has been rushed for the purpose of making the most money and I think it shows.

EXACTLY. You hit the nail on the head.

in reply to: Has anyone seen Transformers? #597028

All right, so I gotta admit, when I heard there was going to be a Transformers movie I didn’t think I’d ever want to see it. I mean, I wasn’t really a fan of them when I was a kid, I never watched the cartoon…

However, the other day BiPolarBear kidnapped me and we went to go see it– MY GOODNESS! That movie was INCREDIBLE. I really, really liked it, and I’d see it again in a heartbeat. It was funny and well-done and everything about it was excellent. It’s refreshing to see that the world can still produce decent sci-fi movies!

And… I’ve decided that my dream car would definitely be a tow-truck with a giant robot strapped to the back of it. Fwoosh!

He’s improving. But you are right, he simply doesn’t have the presence needed for the part. He kinda falls flat. Richard Harris is a really tough act to follow and he really gave us our image of Dumbledore in that first movie.

Unfortunately he dared to go and die on us before the series was completed. Darn him!

I would have liked for Ian McKellan to have taken over the part, he has the presence, but he was tied up with the Lord of the Rings and X-Men. *sigh*

Anyway, this poor actor has some tough shoes to fill. He is getting better, his performance was better in this movie than it was in the other two.

    Kyrin

Ian McKellan would probably have been able to pull it off, but I wouldn’t be able to think of him as someone who isn’t Gandalf, particularly in a wizardy part. That would be hard to get around. I think the current Dumbledore would have been much better if he wore the half-moon glasses more often and wasn’t so temperamental–it would also help if he had a more peircing, open sort of gaze. You know? Throughout this last movie his eyes were always narrowed.

    But maybe that’s just me.

Dood… looks like we have a whole party! I’ll have to be sure to finish reading Harry Potter by then so I can actually pay attention to you guys.

I’ve seen the movie twice on two consecutive nights, and despite all the stuff they left out and the fact that most of the people I know ended up hating it, I thought it was an excellent film. The acting is much better than in the previous ones and they kept everything neat and to the point. It was exciting and the special effects were pretty.

And one thing about seeing it twice is that it’s allowed me to appreciate things like the stuffed armadillo in the Gryffindor common room and the boxes of Cheeri Owls on the breakfast tables in the Grand Hall.

All in all, I can’t find anything bad to say about it. (And this is epic, since I’ve disliked most of the other HP movies!)

Man, I didn’t seen any of those costumes when I was there! Incredible how big that place was.

I am kinda wondering what you guys were doing, messing with creating a forum, on the fourth of July?

I don’t think the actual start-up date was fourth of July… We all had accounts at the end of June, I believe, so it was really only the public launch that occurred today.

Then again, you never know us… we tend to let national holidays slip our minds without much friction.
