I had mine out a couple years ago. Pain wasn’t an issue, but then I get incredibly bad migranes, and realtively speaking it felt like nothing to me. The swelling on the other hand drove me mad! And then there was my family…they had steak and pizza the next two days! Torture!
Ice is your very best friend to start with, it keeps the swelling and pain down beautifully. Just remember after a day or two to start using hot water bottles in between hits of ice, otherwise your jaw is going to get horribly stiff and sore in a whole new way! Hope you feel better soon! *Sends some pudding, soup and ice cream*
Gah, I know! My family ate pasta in front of me last night, I was sad… eventually I ended up just grabbing a noodle (it was the short, swirly kind) and swallowing it whole. XD My dad gave me a funny look.
Ice seems to help a lot. I made a point of keeping a pack on my face periodically for most of yesterday, and I went to bed with one. Thanks for the advice on hot water bottles, though, I hadn’t thought of that!
Quote:Tapioca is grosssss ;P
What, you don’t like goop with chewy bits mixed in? Hahaha, I used to hate tapioca, too, but I guess I got over it…
By the way, people, Trader Joes’s Belgian Chocolate Pudding is the best thing on the planet. Highly recommended. I’ve officially done in an entire container of it since last night.
Nutella! Mmm… You know, it’s funny, I never thought I’d get sick of eating sweet things, but now that I’ve been living off of nothing but yogurt and pudding for a day and a half, all I want is savory. Hahaha. I need some instant mashed potatoes.
Oh man, that would drive me nuts… another series of books that talks endlessly about food is Redwall. Gah, just the thought makes me hungry. I shall make a mental note to stay away from James Herriot.
Travistie, you know, as long as they aren’t bothering you I wouldn’t worry about it. At 26 they’re probably all grown in anyway, right? My mouth was just way too tiny to hold all those teeth, so they were coming out at a bad angle and smashing everything else together. I was looking forward to having them out because it was so uncomfortable, hehe.
That’s right, people, I just (FINALLY) got my wisdom teeth taken out yesterday. 😀 A few of you might remember me starting a thread about it a while back, hehe.
Anyways, the operation was FUN. I’m serious. Whatever that stuff was they injected me with is good stuff. I was knocked out pretty much completely… all I really remember is a “Wheeeee!” feeling and looking up to see a bunch of people leaning over me, sticking things in my mouth. Then I sort of blearily came back to full consciousness, and I was being wheeled over to the recovery room. Rolled off one bed and onto another, and then it was time to leave.
Now, though–MISERY. I’ve been taking painkillers, but it still hurts. *whimper* And all I can eat is pudding, tapioca, yogurt, and smashed up yams. I’ve never wanted a sandwich more in my life! The good thing is my face hasn’t swollen up yet. But man, I’m hungry…
Hahaha, that was spiffy!
Yup, I’m here for mod stuff. As long as you folks behave yourselves I should be able to keep up. 😀 As always, just PM me with any problems or questions–if I don’t know the answer then I’ll be slow getting back to you, but otherwise I check the forum daily and should be able to help fairly quick-a-like.
Greater Basilisk was here visiting and she was taking pictures. 🙂

Greater Basilisk wrote:Yeah. Chessie was supposed to have them finished four days ago. 😆
We are having difficulties with the finish…
TOM IS AWESOME.
Holy cow… that is quite a story. Thank goodness you didn’t get hurt.

Kyrin
Kyrin Tonk’s father was killed so i guess Tonks mum teddys nan/gran what ever raised him 😀
I’m pretty sure Harry and Ginny were too young to raise a kid at that point.
Quote:Thanks for the link – it was fun reading more about Harry. Although it made me laugh about him being head of the department of Aurors. Can’t you just imagine the job interview:
“Well, Mr. Potter, what experience do you have?”
“I killed Lord Voldemort.”
“Oh, right, when can you start?”
And I keep picturing other people going to apply for the job and seeing Harry sitting there. “Rats, he killed Voldemort – what have I done? Captured one death eater. Guess I’ll just apparate back home.”
Hahaha! I’m pretty sure they didn’t need to ask, though. Probably offered him the ministry on a silver platter after all that.
Question, though. What do they need aurors for? Voldemort’s DEAD. All they’ve got left to do is catch the remaining death eaters, and that’s not much. Might take ’em a couple years. It’s definitely not the same job it was before… probably nothing more than paperwork and keeping track of the people still left out there, neh?

I liked how he reduced him back to Tom Riddle in the end, taking away his self proclaimed title as well, that was a master stroke, showing Tom he was not as all knowing and powerful as he thought he was, and in front of all his followers, leaving them no doubts about their leader’s failings. Brilliant.
There was a good reason for doing to that way too, by pointing out Voldemort’s failings and arrogance, I feel it really made clear that their faith was misplaced from the start. And hopefully humiliated them enough that no one in their group would even consider reviving Voldemort’s cause ever again.
I thought that was pretty spiffy, too. I was kind of laughing at the way Harry gave Voldy a dose of exactly his own medicine because I kept thinking “Aaah, Harry has the evil overlord explaination disease!” But all in all it was great to see him do that.
As for Snape, Snape is awesome! Through and through! Of course, the thing with him and Lily was a bit predictable, I can’t count the number of theories I’ve seen to that effect over the years. I’m a bit sad we didn’t see more Snape. His batman exit was one of my favorite parts! Bahaha! Snape-shaped hole in the window…
July 27, 2007 at 9:07 pm in reply to: Harry Potter DH **SPOILER THREAD** DO NOT ENTER unless read! #602766Ok… my take on this book can be summed up with: AAUGH HARRY DID NOT DIE WHAT THE HECK.
And I was so ready for him to die. Sigh. I really wanted him to. And that one chapter where he realized what was going on and has one hour left to live–my God, that was so powerful, SO powerful–and having him not die after that, well… ok, so it was neat what happened afterwards. The whole thing with everyone thinking he was dead, and him having to lie there and pretend–that was extremely powerful. HOWEVER. If he had died, the entire world of HP fans would have exploded into one collective mourning force, and it would have been astounding. It would have been beautiful. I WOULD HAVE LOVED JKR FOREVERRRRR.
As it is… the ending was just god-awfully happy. I’m sorry, people, but Harry Potter can not have an ending like that! The whole thing with the series up until this point has been that JKR is not afraid of killing people. That’s why it was revolutionary, right? That’s why parents wouldn’t let their kids read the series (well, among other things, at least), because it was scary and harsh and people stayed dead. And now look what happens–she gives it a perfect happy ending and fails to kill the main character! There wasn’t even anything left to be resolved! Everything was perfect and SO HORRIBLY HAPPY. AARRG! Why, children’s literature, WHY?!?
And also, the Harry/Ginny coupling never struck me as gold. Sure, it was cute at the beginning of the series, but later on became contrived. 7th book Ginny was so gag-inducingly shallow. She was pretty spiffy in the 3rd and 5th (I think it was 5th) books, but jebus, she’s just this “Oh Harry I love you” character toward the end.
As for Ron/Hermione, that just made me laugh. The bit with the basilisk fangs was so funny. *grin* That, I can live with. Harry/Ginny… well, ok, I could’ve lived with it if they didn’t name their kids Lily and James. LAME LAME LAME LAME LAME LA–*gasps for air* … Yeah, I’ll shut up now. Albus Severus rocks my socks, though.
Sorry about the novel. O.O Did not realize it was so long.

I still need a avatar and such. I tried to make one but for some reason it kept getting rejected.Unfortunately, the avatar thingy has an attitude and tends to reject things if they aren’t really, really small files. Or sometimes, I’m led to assume, it just rejects things for the sake of it… I had a lot of trouble getting mine up, too.
