Just curious..if you’ve won previously do you get omitted from future drawings..to give everyone a chance or something ?
I just wondered since I might want to be more choosy about which ones I enter… 😉

Oh no..it is a special color…and I’ll sell her to ya for a very special price… 👿
😆 Hehe. Sorry, but I don’t collect the laps.
Awww…don’t be that way..we all need at least one.. 🙁
To stare into the eyes of a Lap is be mesmerized by the mixing of cute and evil… come to the Drak-side.. 😈 😀
Sounds eerily similar to what happened to Enchantica…the new company is having them mass-produced in china..prob taking down the value of est pieces in the process..lol..not that anyone cares about that really… 😉
The old Enchantica is gone for sure..though this other company did pick up the license and started producing new pieces..the website isn’t updated from what I can tell..but The Sorcerer’s Library was showing new pieces..and Andrew Bill has Dragonsite ( I don’t think it has a club though ).. my fav artist ( besides Melody of course ) Rob Simpson who also made a lot of Enchantica Dragons was also trying to make his own line. I didn’t know the pocket dragons were gone…thought the last time I saw any was in that company’s catalog that only carried dragon items ..can’t think of the name at the moment…
I would be interested in a Collector’s Club myself if it offered some kind of special discount or access to special pieces…I really only collect Dragons so anything else I would prob skip just out of preference…well that and money is tight.
Not really sure how to handle it though….I know Enchantica used to charge a yearly price with one free membership only piece and access to special pieces and prices…they also tried a newsletter..but it didn’t work well I guess..of course that could be done online now… just my thoughts.

AHHH That’s *SO* adorable that you put the eggs in a nest! 😀 😀 The Emperor looks like “*GASP* YOURE NOT MY SISTER!” and the Empress is like “Yea, learn to love it.” heheheI don’t know what it is…eggs, hatchlings or young scalies beg me to make nests for them…I’m going to head out and find a little dried moss to add to it I think…can’t wait to add the others to it…and they do seem to have some sibling tension there don’t they ? 😀
Quote:Well since the Emperor is MALE we know he is not asking for directions!!
I was going to say he’s maybe thinking how to get out..but that would prob fit the Kinglet more.. 😉 Your right though..neither are going to ask for help or directions.. no matter the situation.. 😆

sorry..lol
Quote:Beautiful dragons ! I hope to own a Spectral to someday. Thier eyes are really cool in person .
I had an amazing seller work with me on eBay to get this one…and I initally thought they were kind of odd…but after having this one..I’m torn between a Spec Riser and an OW as my next purchase… 😀
Thanks ! I know they’re a bit blurry…cheap camera.. and you get what you pay for I guess..lol
Well, I promised pics and finally bummed a camera to get em’…lol
Here’s my new Spectral ( Moon-Eye ) and Silver Lap ( Rayne ).. love putting names to things..it’s a human thing.

And the Hatching Emps I bought last month… all tucked in their nest..awaiting the Kinglet and Fledgie.. 😉

I’m not sure if the Emperor is shocked by the fierce look of his red-eyed mate or what though… 😀
Dragon Master wrote:Yes we still NEED an Empress
I always thought the Feldgie was a young Emperor waiting it grow up. I have no idea what the Kinglet would be unless it’s the Hatching E before it’s out of the shell enough for us to be able to tell it’s sex??I doubt the Fledgie is an Emperor since it’s named differently and we already have one hatcher that’s been dubbed Emperor. Really none of the hatchlings ( Emp, Empress, Fledge or Kinglet ) look like an Emperor or the Mother,Father, and the previous little Hatchling. They more resemble the Lap, Scratcher, and SK from what I can tell.
Has Melody mentioned her thoughts as to the origin of these pieces before ? Like how she came up with them ? If each one is a unique dragon and they aren’t supposed to be similar I can understand that.
pipsxlch wrote:I sort of see them as different species; the emperor and SK (along with hatching royalty) are one; the male, female, young, small PYO and hatcher are another, while the spectrals are a third more distantly related nocturnal one (others are diurnal). The OW and lap are a different species also, usually I think in the same but sometimes not, think the differences are just age and gender. I don’t have a PYO keeper (yet) so can’t really say on that one and sometimes place the kinglet in another undetermined species also.
I love that empress sculpt, would enjoy it either way. Think I would pair it with the OW.
I orig thought it was just a difference in sex, but it gets more complicated the further you look into it. Like the Father Dragon could be said to become an Emperor eventually..but we have hatching emperors , ok say that’s a species, but the hatching Emps look more like Laps which is a female right ? Well the Mother dragon looks like a male and emperor in a lot of respects.
The Spectrals aside ( they are way too diff to be mixed with other species )
Ok..let me try this.
Father , Mother, Hatchling
All look pretty similar here.Scratcher, Old Warrior
The OW looks a like an older Scratcher.Hatching Emperor, Empress, Fledgling, Kinglet
Despite the names, these look really similar..If an H-Emperor becomes an Emp, a H-Empress becomes a Empress, what does a Fledgie and Kinglet become ? One could assume a mother dragon lays a clutch of eggs and some become Emps, some look like Scratchers, others Laps.. which is what a Fledgie could become ( Lap/Scratcher ) unless Fledgies are just females then only Laps. The Kinglet is another story..if he’s a ” King ” then there must be a “Queen” unless the queen is the Fledgie and Kinglets are just males. So we need an Empress there.
That leaves the PYOs , and Secret Keeper.
The PYO Dragon looks closer to the Lap so it’s prob just a slightly older or young female/Lap. The Keeper really looks like a young SK even forgetting the name for a minute…so maybe at some point in devlopment a fledgie becomes a Keeper and then grows into an SK..the grandmother of all dragons. Now only one question…what about the grandfather eh ? 😆frozendragon wrote:Blade-of-the-Moon wrote:frozendragon wrote:Blade-of-the-Moon wrote:It doesn’t look that bad really..but it’s hard to tell detail in almost any pic…that said..I wouldn’t mind any new dragons she decided to make… 😉
This is OT, but I can’t tell you how useful that pic in your sig has been to me when trying to compare all the diff sizes of each piece… you don’t have a bigger version do you ? 😀
yes.. I have the bigger version on my computer… I just had to make it smaller to fit on the forum…
Could you email me a copy ? I can pm my addy if you could .
yes.. go ahead…
Done…just wanted to be sure.. 😉
That’s another good reason not to put them outside.. but we still have kids that bash mailboxes and smash pumpkins on Halloween…so that scares me as much as getting it stolen. I have garden art..but it was uber cheap..like 10-20.00 so I don’t much mind there…but a 100.00 dragon would be too hard to swallow.. 🙁
Dragon Master wrote:Blade-of-the-Moon wrote:Dragon Master wrote:Blade-of-the-Moon wrote:Heh.. I’ll be happy with one myself .. that goes for an Emperor as well… 😀
I don’t think I’ve ever even seen 4,000 .. at least not all at once in the same place… 😉
I have BUT ONLY during really wet winters like when I get the windstone kick about 3 years ago. I was able to drop abotu $5,000 that winter and got my 2 23KT Gold Leaf hatching Empresses 1 23KT Gold Leaf OW and the BG, Ruby and Rainbow Famlies, Emperor, Male, Mother, Fledgling, Young and hatchers all in a 6 week time frame😮 wow…that’s every version I own plus all the others at once ! I hope your collection is insured bro… lol
Though I do wonder..what does the dampness of the winter have to do with it ? Maybe your a coat salesman eh ? 😆
Sorry most people here already know
I work full time for at&t as a dispatcher and when it rains the ground turns to mud and the cable under ground that have all the copper lines will shift or of moisture gets in them it causes all the phone lines to go out and the tech’s have toe work 12-14 hours a day and as tech support I get those hours too. The first 40 hours are regular time40-49 ar time and a half and over 49 is double time so I can make 1/2 my yearly income in 2-3 monthsNot bad… there is talk around here all the time of burying the lines..too much wind and trees overhanging them…I guess there are downsides to that also eh ? well…for most.. lol
Quote:I want all 3 in the store now too.
I just need one..lol..but out of the three..I was kind of leaning toward the Rainbow myself…or if it’s released in Red Fire…well..that would be tempting… 😀
Quote:I always imagined that the spectrals were just that… ghosts of dead dragons (hence the weird eyes). Since spectral is another reference to a ghostly apparation of some kind, it’s probably safe to assume that when a dragon dies, it turns into a spectral…
But that’s just how I think of it… I wouldn’t mind hearing other theories! Or if I’m right or completely off the hook…lol
When I first saw one them it was in white and then I saw I the name so I thought ” Ghost Dragon ” same as you.. 😀 Maybe they could also be Spirit Dragons, like after a dragon passes they re-incarnate into these guys.. there is a whole basis for a story there.. 😉
Melody wrote:Blade-of-the-Moon wrote:This one would work for an outdoor piece as well, not that many ever actually make outdoors anyway right ? 😀
Really, in addition to all the reasons mentioned above..the sculpt is already done or mostly done ( never know when you want to tweak something before painting.. 😉 ) , all the female dragons are in laying positions right ? Except for the SK that is, so it also fits there.. indoor..outdoor..I’d get it eventually..I’m behind right now as it is..lol
How difficult would it be to issue it in both outdoor and indoor pieces ? Would the cost be too much ? I don’t think we are going to be setting up a casting dept. for the outdoor material again very soon, if at all. We have our hands full with casting the gypsum. Plus, It seems that almost nobody bought the cement Rock dragons with the intention of using them outside anyway, so it is kinda crazy to bother with it!
The reason I didn’t want to do the same pieces in indoor and outdoor material is that I was afraid that it would be confusing. You can keep cement inside, but you can’t keep gypsum outside. I didn’t want to take the chance that people would put the wrong ones outside..
The “Garden Dragon” ( I’ll need to change her name)
has a rough “stone” finish, like the gargoyles. To make her into a fine finish dragon, each scale will need to be sanded and polished. I normally do that for all the fine finish dragons, but to start with one that was intentionally made extra rough …oy vey, that is lots of work!I can understand that. Really I plan to get both Rock Dragons but they won’t end up outside..pets, children and weather just seems too risky when I can simply place them near the houseplants indoors…maybe you can just release them in the gypsum..I’d hate to see em’ discontinued.
Would the sanding or sculpting a whole new dragon be more difficult ? That answer could tell you wether it’s worth it or not , though I could see getting her after I get an OW… 😉 I might have to concentrate on those Rock Dragons to if they are going to be discontinued.. 🙁
Off topic again, but are there going to be more SKs made for the store eventually ? She is at the end of a long road of Dragons for me to get ( maybe shorter if you ever get em’ hollowed out a bit.. lol ) but I was hoping so.
