My local dealer has ONE left at retail. He’s bright and in wonderful condition. I think he’s going for $160 something though 😐
That’s a pretty good price actually. The Ruby is up to $166 now with the price increase, and the other colors are at $191. So $160 for a retired piece is pretty good.
Yeah, and the guy up there that I usually talk to said they know about the price increase but haven’t applied it yet. I’ll have to swing by there when I take my break tomrrow at work and double check the price for Griffiness.
I’ll also get another good look-over of him and make sure they have his original box. 🙂My local dealer has ONE left at retail. He’s bright and in wonderful condition. I think he’s going for $160 something though 😐
Use veeerrrrry little at a time, like a pinpoint for small details! If you are spreading it over a large area, use a little at a time and spread it out in a thin layer.
I’d say you can practice on the bottom of your sculpture ( at least, that’s what I did… ) if you don’t want to practice on paper.

OOoOoo I didnt look that close I am going to have to look at it again. Poor guy!
Yeah, and he’s obviously had some major paint rubs than this currently handler can see. I see so many patches of unmatching paint… this poor unicorn 😥
If you look really close, you can tell he had some major damage around his head. It looks like his head broke off or something on the left side.. and that odd horn (sea shell? ) is so crooked!
SWEET! It’s still coming out on my birthday! I know I’m going to go see it!!
I’ll give you $130 for the OW!!!! 😯
LUCKY! My mum loved him when I showed her the first image of him with the griffin line-up.
Congrats, Ski!I’ve read and heard that there might have been a few blue-eyed old green dragons that escaped the factory…
You should take a picture of the bottom too, even though there won’t be a felt. Sometimes they can tell by the bottom of the cast.
LOL! That so made my night… I think that seller is either nuts or isn’t up with the Windstone times…
Silicone rubber is rather expensive, but I found a guy on eBay that sells it, just a half gallon of the stuff costs over $50. He only has a gallon of it listed right now: link
Hydrostone isn’t so bad though.
I offer to help in anyway, if you need it. 🙂
Copy that and replace the fake url with yours.
Oh, my eyes! How bright! X_X; Very sharp and can’t miss that one on a shelf.

I’m not trying to make a mold of an Emperor or anything copyright infringing, just a cast of the missing piece, I just don’t want to destroy another Emperor in the process. I bought this rubber mold stuff you are supposed to paint on the area, but it has amonia in it, hence why I was asking Mel about it. It just didn’t seem like a good idea to apply straight to a Windstone. I would think the paint would peel right off with it when I tried to remove it.
How do you do what you were saying. I’ve never heard of hydrostone
Hydrostone is a real nice mineral stone that is either what windstones are cast in or just close to it (as an example). It doesn’t carve easily, but is managable with sharp tools. I used it to repair a chunk from my mother dragon’s tail ( http://www.unchartedart.com/junk/IMG_15122.JPG ) and I haven’t been able to pull it off by pushing at it, so it works very well.
As per your emperor, if what you bought says latex anywhere on it, it will have ammonia in it. I have silicone rubber arriving tomorrow that I’ll be testing on a damaged chunk from my emperor’s wing to see if it causes paint peeling. If it doesn’t I can recommend it or a plaster mold if it doesn’t work. But working in a reverse method, I’m sure a small rubber mold from the damaged area of your emp, I could make a plaster cast of that damage. Then I can make a rubber mold from my emp and fit that onto the damage mold, then cast the hydrostone fitting. Long process, I know, but he’ll have feet and a tail again!seeing your poor emperor makes me wonder if I can make a harmless mold and cast from my emperor’s feet an tail from the hydrostone I have, then ship it to you so you can apply it. Hydrostone seems to adhere extremely well straight onto the break (or so it does with my repaired pearl mother dragon).
