Still in progress, but was meant to be a “Phoenix Butterfly” I think I’m leaning more towards a hot pink goldfish! LOL! These scales took FOREVER to blend every individual one, but of course, when I’ve been given free reign I have to make things difficult for myself or I’m not happy 😀

Next comes the Midnight & Ceurlean Blue for the belly and the butterfly wings! EEP!

I kinda like the pink in combination with bright orange. I’m curious to see how you’ll add the blue. I’m having trouble imagining it.

oo but ee es sooo beeuuuutiful! I love the hot pink and orange together, with the mattte finish of the paint. I wouldn’t put a gloss on him though, that would put him over the edge. Are you going to add any other colors to him?

I was thinking a toned down, but still vibrant blue, with a midnight blue antique on the belly. I’m trying to figure out a butterfly pattern for the wings using the magenta and the blue. possible some black in him too. or maybe even a dab of purple. I don’t want there to be too many colrs in it though.

The cool thing is that it actually looks red and orange under regular (typical lightbulb) light, but in the sun or the flash is shows up the magenta.

If you can’t think of something, you could try going down to the library and checking out lots of butterfly books. Even if you don’t see anything in them you like, just having all the images tumbling around in your head will create a higher likely hood of still thinking up a pattern 🙂

Thanks everyone! I was worried he was a bit too bright, but it works for him so far =) I was working on a repair for the majority of today, but I should have some cool update pics by the weekend =)
