Oh well, a lucky someone got a great deal.
They got a good deal- the real gold this guy is covered in is worth over half his selling price! π
Maybe Gold (as a color) is getting stale? I dunno! He’s very pretty in person, a very nice luster to him- paint can’t quite compare. πVolunteer mod- I'm here to help! Email me for the best response: nambroth at gmail.com

That golden dragon sold for way less than I was expecting. $192 is no record. Thanks! I thought the dragon would go for a lot higher too. I bet it would have if DM wasn’t broke right now. π

One reason might also be that gold leaf has a unique look that only appeals to certain people, so there are fewer bidders competing to drive the price up.I noticed this with Melody’s OOAK OW auctions too — the gold leaf OW went for ~$1400, but the autumn leaf OW went for ~$2000. The copper mauve OW went for ~$1500, but from all of the comments so far, it seems like autumn leaf appeals to quite a few more people.

I tried all different color eyes in him before gluing the yellow in place… the yellow were the only ones that “tasted” right! The blue ones were giving me a hard time.

My art: featherdust.comMarch 9, 2007 at 9:03 pm #545922i thought it looked good but to be honest in this house a limited piece like that just not a good idea. i want to stick mostly with production, and me i’m not a gold person, i like silver … unless it’s going on purple. hmmmmm maybe i need to do a pyo dragon in gold and purple. next batch of horses i sell i have to get some pyo now *G* the list of must paint ideas is growing i was holding out for the larger dragon tho ..

Same here.

I LOVED those eyes, a lot more than the red ones actually although the red still go very well with gold. If I hadn’t been saving, in fact selling, for a car, I would have given the winner a run for their money!

I’ve been completely swamped with work this morning, otherwise I would’ve let you guys know sooner.
Nam, I’m really happy that I got him, and I can’t wait to see him in person! I’ve already reserved a spot for him close by the banded griffin. π
Oh wow! Thanks Mimi- please let me know what you think of him in person. π
Mos def! I just got an email from Karen saying that they’re sending him out today, so I should be getting him in 1-2 days!
The wolf just arrived! He’s beautiful! As usual, he looks even better than the pictures. I love all of the details that you put on him. I put him a couple feet in front of me on my computer table, where I can always see him. πBy the way, his name is “Rufus” and he’s busy getting acquainted with the rest of the tribe right now. He does seem a little intimidated by the flapcats who are twice as big as he is… π
