I’m very much a fan of any of the black-based colors: Black Gold, Black Violet-Peacock, Black Emerald-Peacock, were there any others?
The black emerald color of the raffle prize named “Grackle”. Melody also painted a mother dragon in this color for ebay. She fetched a pretty penny if I remember correctly!
If I remember correctly, she also triggered the “Black Emerald” vs “Serpentine” debate on the forum (sometime before the Great Transition). I’m still hoping for Black Ice or Black Emerald as a production or LP color … we shall see.

I got the serpentine curlie and thought the same. But part of my problem is Im really not a big fan of the sculpt. Melody has to paint curlies in pink or tiger(or pink tiger) before I’ll even look at it. I think if they use the elements of the serpentine male that went on ebay(the serpentine color with more copper red highlights) and used in on some LP larger dragons(lap, OW, scratcher etc) then the serpentine color would be a bit more stunning.
The Copper Serpentine OW is lovely. I have the CS baby ki-rin and the color is more striking in person. Kind of like new spring growth coming up through golden brown winter leaves on a forest floor.

Oh, that old warrior takes my breath away. The first second I saw him I didn’t like him, but the more I sit here and stare at him-I think Im in love.:love: Wampus, you are SO right! He does look like new plants pushing their way through the soil. And the little bits of blue are the left over ice that’s melting. Melody should have called him “Forest Spirit”
That oriental looks GREAT in the tiger color too! It fits him very nicely. heheh “Crouching tiger hidden dragon”
That new fledgling looks more like a black turquoise but he’s gorgeous! I hope Melody makes some exactly like him for the store. O.O OMG A scratcher in that color! How pretty would that be?
