Thank you.
Indeed… it will take some getting used to to not have to stand on my porch calling out “POOP!” at the top of my lungs for when she has to come back in the house.

June 18, 2014 at 2:05 am #914288Thanks bayou dragon. I will. She put a post up on Facebook late lastnight and has gotten a lot of support. She did the right thing, her quality of life wasnt there, but its so hard to know if you are truly doing the right thing when an animal is still barking and running around. The seizures would have just continued to get worse though and just make her final weeks misery. At least this way she went peacefully in her owners arms. Its still horrible though. I miss her annoying high pitched barks. Ein, my corgi seems depressed too. His playmate is gone and now hes alone in a house full of bothersome cats.

June 19, 2014 at 12:06 am #914351Sorry to hear that! Maybe after some time your sister could considering rescuing another dog that needs a home. It isn’t easy but at least it can help save another dog’s life.
Looking for rainbow or pink & teal grab bags!
June 19, 2014 at 2:23 am #914361I am so sorry to hear about your sister’s dog, it is heart breaking to watch a furry family member suffer like that.
Pardon my quick whines.. this month is just doing a bang-up job on our budget. I broke a molar on Saturday while at a bbq, darn small unseen rib bones. I couldn’t get in until Monday to see our dentist and ended up having to get a root canal, now we are waiting on the crown. All this after maxing out our dental insurance already this year all of two weeks ago.
Sunday the husband twisted up his knee while working on the lawn mower and we ended up in the ER today because he couldn’t put any weight on it and it had swollen up to nearly twice the usual size. All of this since he went to bed last night, nothing before that other than a bit of a limp. Our usual doctor said to take him in and it ended up being a torn tendon with fluid build up. Onto the Ortho specialist on Friday.
It wouldn’t have been so bad but we just finished paying off the Estate lawyer for Mom this week. Youch wallet.
July 2, 2014 at 7:01 pm #915108I’m not sure why the majority of people in my small “city” carries a chip on their shoulder. So much for southern hospitality. Lived here all my life and having traveled to other places, the people were so much more pleasant by comparison. Even the tourists will agree with this. There are no manners here. San Francisco was ranked in the top ten rudest cities in the US, but i did’nt see that when i went (3 times.) Rude in SF was nice in comparison to the people in my town. There is no reason for them to act that way. I’m so tired of it, but i don’t have resources to move.
That being said, everybody here on the forum has been so nice and helpful. It’s so refreshing and i look forward to new posts/threads. So thank you everyone for being the greatest collection of awesome people I’ve come in contact with. I’m not being sarcastic. I really mean it. 🙂

I hear you loud and clear! I am NOT a traveler by any means. I mean.. I think I have only left my home state like 5 times ever and I live in MA, it’s little to begin with! I was floored though at the hospitality I got when I was visiting the factory in Oregon. People pumping gas would make casual conversation with strangers and generally were just more “human” to eachother… at least what I’d consider it to be anyway. Where I live, if you as much as LOOK at someone while pumping your gas you get either a stern “What are you looking at!?” (from guys) or a sarcastic “Can I HELP you with something!?” (from women) I try to avoid eye contact. One time I tried to compliment a guy on his truck because I love big trucks and I just got a “If you wanna see the backseat then thanks! … Otherwise don’t waste my time” I think I just stood there with a stupid look on my face for like 10 secoonds just making sure in my head I heard him right before getting in my truck and leaving without another word. To sum it up… the people in my town suck too! LOL!
This forum has always been my safe zone! I can be myself here more then anywhere else and everyone for the most part have always been super kind and welcoming!

July 7, 2014 at 6:52 pm #915293Oh wow! Now that is RUDE! Most of the time when you walk past someone on the street where I live you can at least get a pleasant ‘Hello’ followed by ‘How’s it going?’ then, ‘Good, you?’. Although admittedly I have heard profanity and unpleasantness spewed at me once when I didn’t turn left into busy traffic quick enough (don’t know WHAT the guy behind me’s problem was, I certainly wasn’t going to get broad sided just because he was impatient). I agree about this forum though. So many people to chat with that are really pleasant and fun to talk too.
Personal whine of the day: I have to go to Mississippi to look at houses for sale with my parents. Going to Mississippi is not the problem. It’s going on a road trip to look at houses for sale. Looking at houses I’m not going to buy is not my idea of a good time. Not to mention my dad is a firm believer in ‘Driver picks the music, shotgun shuts their cakehole’. Ugh…… Not to mention if I put on headphones and listen to my own music I get pestered ON PURPOSE until I take them off. Who does this to a 33 year old who doesn’t live at home anymore!? Not fun times! I could go on forever, but I’m going to cut myself off before this turns from a whine to a rant.

Sorry for loss. It’s always tough to loose a beloved pet and having to make the deciscion to release them from this world. No words will make you feel better, but try to take comfort that she’s not suffering from those tumors now. She’ll be with you in memory and spirit.

I was actually surprised! The roadtrip did not turn out that bad (past experiences jaded my expectations and after a dramamine I was able to keep myself entertained peacefully). Looking at the houses was surprisingly interesting (my parents are interested in historic-type older homes). We even did some sight-seeing. My only regret was I didn’t bring a camera because I was told we’d only be looking at houses. Ah well.
