I don’t think the big picture should be removed instead I propose an idea that came to me earlier…
perhaps Melody could make several of each color to make the chances a little more likely that people have a chance to get the one they want…I’m not saying put the batch out the with more in them, just giving us a few more of each color in a batch so people aren’t trying to get that “one” that they know they only have one chance at and it’s not a likely chance at all and or buying more to get that “one”…
And if there was a poll, you’d have a SCIENTIFIC BREAKDOWN of color demand! [nerd.]

What I’m tired of is the overcompetitive behavior and dibs-calling among members that’s escalated with this newest, hottest batch. It’s taken a lot of the fun out of the whole thing. If a one-per limit helps that, if not posting the batch photos beforehand helps that, so much the better, but enough is enough.
I just want these things to be fun. 🙁
I would think, for Melody, that part of the “fun” is not having to paint anything in particular – just pick colors and everything depending on mood and what might be neat to do. Try new things.

I’m not saying it should all be 3 __ this and 3 ____ this, I’m just saying that the batch should have like at least two of each color so there’s more of chance instead of everyone wanting the exact same one and going to great lengths to get that only one….

Good point! Poor Melody. Mostly I just thought it would be a fun poll, to see what everyone likes, since it’s always so different. 🙂 And to see what the “universal favorite” seems to be. I’m curious!
Im actually very offended that people keep implying that someone’s spouse “doesnt actually like them and its just to get around the rule blah blah blah” BS. That might be the case with some. It isnt with me.
I quite agree– while I suspect it isn’t about you, however, the passive-aggressive tone to some of some of the posts is certainly not in the nature of the Grab Bags or our forum.
I also suspect that the folks writing the passive-aggressive posts are probably, for the most part, not doing it on purpose. I sincerely doubt that anyone is trying to write up harmful posts or words that would hurt other members. The trouble is that we get stuck in a sense of anonymity and don’t put an individual in our minds when imagining the ‘bad guy’. Look at how many topics people have started about how crazy someone would be to spend XXX dollars on an eBay piece– only to have that person be a forum member, and the original poster has to backpedal because they simply never thought of it that way! I am not talking about recent posts but in the history of our forum they do happen somewhat regularly.

Maybe I should ask them if I am so concerned.”I think that there is some psychology going on here, and it’s sort of interesting. Let’s look at it for a moment. In the thread posted, Susie asked that no one try to find sneaky ways to get around the ‘one per customer’ request. She didn’t mention what sneaky ways were being employed. Immediately, I am sure some of you (myself included) started thinking, “Gosh, how did they do it? What is a sneaky way to do it?” not because we wanted to be sneaky ourselves, but because we were curious. Thee truth is that at no point did anyone from Windstone say what ways were ‘being sneaky’. A few forum members then posted, saying that they did have multiple pieces coming to their homes, because their significant others/roomies/family collected. Even though the warning from Windstone was a generic “Don’t break the rule” type warning, I think that folks jumped on the idea that collectors were illegitimately having spouses collect for them. Does anyone actually know of this happening? Does anyone actually know of someone making multiple accounts just so they can buy more? If so, please speak up (send me or Susie an email) so we can look into it. But I really think that a few folks are jumping at shadows here.
I understand the frustration. I really do! Heavens, I can’t even afford one piece, less consider being upset because I didn’t get the one I wanted. So I know how you feel. But being angry at a situation that might not even exist is not helpful either.
Please, try to look at your posts from an outside perspective, when you can. If you are typing something up when you are angry, consider saving it in a document and sleeping on it then re-reading it before posting it. Sometimes it can help.
If you have suggestions for making the Grab Bags more fun and want Melody to try something different, please feel welcome to post about it in the Ask Melody section, where she is likely to see it.
Let’s get back to the general “Whine is Served.” 🙂

Just a few thoughts about the grab bags, not directed at anyone in particular…
In a way it seems that grab bag demand is pretty much endless.. each batch is different and people who love these and can afford to buy the given limit per batch will ultimately end up doing so.. I don’t actually see anything wrong with that even if they end up with 50+ over the course of time. I personally don’t buy them as the only ones I like seem to be in limited numbers and I’m not going to gamble on the high chance I get one I don’t like. But if I loved one that was pictured I might be inclined to offer a price a lot greater than store price to the owner. I ended up doing that with the White Flap Cat.. got tired of missing them for sale when people listed them on the Flea Market for what I considered to be cheap prices and just offered what I was prepared to pay. Got the job done and everyone was happy. Perhaps one condensed topic where people can post what unicorns they want and what they’ll offer (be it a trade or cash) would clear up the forum a bit though.
On a different note, why is it whenever I want to buy notebooks for my courses that I can find none with a design I like but I remember loads I liked when I wasn’t studying and had no need for them so didn’t buy them? :p
Having something stolen and having the person justify it . I have had people in my life like that my entire life and I will have a hard time trusting people in the future .
$1,300 a month for health insurance, $5k in deductible, 20% after that, $35 to say boo to the doc and $55 if he is special. Plus the medicine they prescribe.
And I am a non-worker due to injury which I do not get money for and to old to start with my limitations.And to make matters even worse then that:
I am 92 pieces short of having all the production dragons Windstoone has made!!!
TERRIBLE…(runs off screaming in madness)…Where do I find all of these beautiful dragons, where oh where!!!
