Lucky you . 99 here today with a heat index of 110 to 115 . Killer heat . Has killed 13 people and 3 dogs . I hate people who leave dogs outside . Pet peeve .
July 20, 2011 at 10:58 pm #851573My wedding’s in 2 weeks and I pulled a muscle in my back at work. I can’t twist my back without pain…. I seriously hope that this goes away in time…
July 20, 2011 at 11:05 pm #851574Hugs to you and I hope you feel better very soon.
July 20, 2011 at 11:23 pm #851578Awww… hope your back gets better. 🙁
Oh yes, the heat. I’m whining a bit about that, too. Stuck with summer camp until the second week of August. At least two more weeks of heat, screaming children, and long work hours. And I am SICK of eating sandwiches!! T.T
I actually broke down and bought one of those horrid Lunchable thingies. LOL!
July 21, 2011 at 2:22 am #851605Oh man that is a thing to whine about . Hugs . Boy you need them too . I never went camp .
I can’t wait for a cooler Autumn . Harvest and cooler weather and beauty all around .
July 21, 2011 at 4:29 am #851624Oh Sasha, I love those pictures and it was like a breath of fall air and cooled me off just looking at them. Yes, I am a winter person where you can put on a multitude of items and it’s so comfy. However, life interrupted and summer hit here in western Colorado and it’s 94 degrees and counting. Drat hate hot weather but love all the sunshine, great for my depression. Please put more winter pictures up so I can cool off!!!! 🙂
July 21, 2011 at 4:33 pm #851667Trips to New Mexico are killing my cars.
My hubby is from Albuquerque, and his family lives there. I love New Mexico too, and love visiting! But… We’ve taken three trips back in four years, and every single time we’ve had a major car issue. Trips elsewhere go perfectly smoothly, but Albuquerque is trying to kill my vehicles.
Four years ago we took a trip, and we weren’t even out of our state before our Taurus threw an engine rod and destroyed itself. We rented a car and continued on our journey, and then while we were in Santa Fe someone hit our rental car!
Two years after that, we took our Nissan, and I hit a pothole which bent the wheel, which needed a $1,200 repair. Thankfully insurance covered that.
This trip, a rat climbed up into our AC and destroyed it (and himself, poor guy). It’s an $800 repair and I’m waiting for the insurance adjuster to go look at it (which takes three DAYS – what’s the deal? We only have one car, so we have no transportation until our car is repaired) and I really hope insurance covers it.
WHINE. Why does Albuquerque hate me, and why does my insurance company (which is great in all other respects) take so long to go look at it?
I’m so tired of car trouble. 🙁
July 22, 2011 at 12:21 pm #851763I just got an email from Borders Bookstores. All Borders are now going out of business due to the eBook craze. 6 months ago, my book club stopped sending books and now just send me advertisements for eBooks and audiobooks. Apparently nobody wants physical books anymore….I do **sob sob** 😥 I’m really sad about it. I have shelves and shelves of pristine condition books that I’ve been collecting since I was 10 years old. My favorite smell in the world is the smell of a freshly printed paperback, I guess I won’t be enjoying that comforting smell too often anymore. **uncontrollable sobbing**
Sorry for the whine! Books have been a nightly routine for me for the past 20 years, this news comes as a low blow to me. The thought of empty bookcases with a Kindle sitting on top makes me want to cry.
Last month I got into a MASSIVE bidding was on eBay for Brian Keene’s latest book (winning bid $104) because only 100 copies were printed worldwide.
July 22, 2011 at 6:07 pm #851780I don’t get the Kindle craze either Skeeter, and trust me – we are not the only ones!! I actually love the smell and feel of a book – I hate the idea of reading something off of a little digital screen, I don’t care if it can carry several books, I don’t care if it’s smaller, I don’t even care if the books end up being cheaper! First, I can never EVER see myself wanting to carry around more than one book – I read them one at a time and I’m fine with that! Secondly – it’s not THAT much smaller than a book. I buy my purses based on whether or not I think it can hold all my stuff plus an average sized paperback for a reason!
In any case, although it’s bad news for us book lovers, we can still hold out hope that there are enough people that actually buy books that publishing companies will still print them <3

I too love physical books, but I can understand to some extent why the kindle is popular. It is far easier for people that travel or that take public transport to carry. My friend has one because it is the only ‘book’ she can have; she does not have a residence and has literally no place to store physical books, and libraries are not an option because she travels around.

My art: featherdust.comJuly 22, 2011 at 9:02 pm #851793bad day at work,, had such wicked anxiety – thank god I do not do customer service. I work at a medical billing office. people call up everyday to complain about 20 & 40.00 bills, when they get free ins. I would love to have to pay their 40.00 co-pay. I have to pay 146.50 a week!!!! out of my paycheck and another 40.00 for prescriptions and co-pays!!!!! it really urks me. at most companies now you have to have ins. they will not let you not get it. that is a hell of a big paycut when you didn’t have to pay these crazy premiums. i still take home less money then I did 20 years ago at my last job. but they got so cheap they outsorced there billing to India. Guess what??? they lost their shoes. God bless them. had the nerve to ask as all back to reopen that office after six months. told them to pound sand. problem is now every employer has you make these crazy premiums. today was a 2 zanex day. might just make it 3 seeing as I am now home and will not have to drive……
July 23, 2011 at 12:37 am #851811I love books and there are some I re read alot . Ones I will never part with . The problem is I now live in a tiny apartment and have no room for books or any more bookcases . So I’m getting a kindle . Luckily I have found lots of books I want . And if the book is in print too . I just tell myself I have no room for them . And some books are no longer in print . Boy could I whine about that !
I need to get rid of more books , but never my faverites . Some I’ve had most of my life . And I re read them .July 23, 2011 at 10:33 am #851841In some ways I kinda wish they would like they are with alot of movies. Add a digital copy to go with the physical copy of the book. That way you can take the book on the go but still curl up with a physical book when you want to. I would even pay extra to buy a book that came with a digital copy. I understand the digital craze and sometimes like it but I like my physical copies of stuff. I’ll buy a CD only the rip it onto my computer and never play the CD just because I feel better when I can physically touch the thing I purchase(and it gives me a backup in case the the 1s and 0s go bye bye). When I want to read a large document or book that’s only on the computer I have been known to waste 100+ pages of paper to print it off to read because I find paper easier and more comfortable to read. I like my hard copies!
July 24, 2011 at 12:44 am #851804Hi, on the subject of books, I love to read also, have to admit I did get a kindle. however paperbackswap.com is a great site for books. your basically swap books around. it’s pretty cool.
July 24, 2011 at 6:52 pm #851913Tired of not having internet access at my duplex. All my neighbors that have WiFi actually are smart enough to have lock their networks so I can’t even leech enough bandwidth to check my email. Will have to wait until sometime next month before I can get it set up as well as daycare is twice as expensive right now since Gavin’s there all day, rather than just after school.
