Just found out the cost of the COBRA insurance coverage should I choose to take it. $502.80/month if I take everything.

Isn’t that horrifying?? When my husband was out of work, I looked into getting it, as I am self employed. It was around $1,200 per month for the two of us, and that was after investigating every sort of price break and everything else that could possibly ‘help’ us in this state. That was over twice of my average income each month!! We were uninsured for about 6 months because I couldn’t afford it.

My art: featherdust.comIt is horrifying considering my income (child support/alimony) right now is roughly $600, and I have three permanent bills totaling $200. Add in the other expenses (food, gas, et cetera) for the month and I’m lucky if I have $100 at the end of the month. I’m just glad my parents haven’t asked for rent/utility money since I moved in with them, though they have every right to.

Yeah. I realized that COBRA leaves you the option of living or being insured.
I woke up this morning to 2 inches of water all over the kitchen floor. One of the water lines to the sink ruptured and sprayed water everywhere. Everything in the kitchen cabinets is ruined and it will take hours to clean up. 🙄 We also found signs of rodents in the back recesses of those cabinets so it’s icy sopping ruined food and rodent soup under the cabinets. And the best part is I can’t find the plumber’s number and my mom is not picking up her phone. I know she has that number. :shout: So we have no water to clean up the mess, except that which we haul up from the lake until I find the plumber’s number. This means no toilet or showers either. The only good thing is it’s still in the low 70s instead of the 40s we were having last week!!!!!
Huh, well I do fell a little better now. :scratch:

OOPS! I picked up the wrong jar of salsa at the grocery store. I can’t feel my tongue and my nose is running!! The worst part of it is that my two-year-old son asked for some when I was opening the jar, so I let him have the first taste! :shout: They gotta put warnings on those fire salsas!! 😆
My oven is dead due to rodents!!!!! It’s only 6 years old and I loved that oven! 🙄

Sun Dragon Koi #3There were accidents on BOTH of my ways to work… so no matter what, I was late. 🙄 And there were meat bins I needed to check right away, so I got yelled at (then I explained and they apologized, but still… I wasn’t the moron who can’t drive!).
Insurance and doctors are rediculous! I got sick, went to see my doctor and got referred to a GI specialist. They fax over a referral sheet and the specialist office takes a week to call and try and make an appointment and the earliest appointment is almost 2 weeks away. Which means I fianlly got to see the specialist almost 3 weeks after I was really sick. And meeting with that doctor had me making 2 other appointments for a stomach xray and an upper GI endoscopy (sp?) which is a week out from that appointment and will be next tuesday. So almost a month has gone by and no one knows what is wrong! 🙄 I am so tired of being ill. I’m better then I was 3 weeks ago. (at least I’m eating some solid food again) It is just really frustrating to be stuck in this cycle. On the plus side I did lose some weight. Just not in a way I would recommend. :puke: Anyway I’m hoping for good news tuesday with my fingers crossed. I’m really tired of being tired and feeling ill. But this to shall pass I’m sure. Thanks for listening. It is always nice to rant a little. Now if I could just get caught back up on everything…
